A Matter of Confusion

Mission: Mission 96: Settling Accounts
Location: Various Locations - USS Argonne
Timeline: 1330Hrs, September 5th, 2392

Commander Celeste Yamaguchi entered Marine country, a PADD in hand as she was looking for an excuse to visit her wife, she enjoyed her company when she was alone or with the children, she had been reunited with the three Caitian children she had more or less adopted while on B Kayor all those months ago and now she had Jackson too. She had her body back and she was getting herself slowly back into fighting trim.

Charon's enthusiasm in looking after Jackson was a great blessing for Celeste as whenever the young infant wanted anything, Charon was always there, with his siblings assisting him. Celeste didn't mind but she didn't want them replacing her as his parent.

Celeste reached her destination. She smiled at the guard. "Morning Commander." he greeted her. "Mind if I check you over?"

"So long as you promise to be gentle. I bruise easily," she responded with a good-natured grin.

The guard chuckled back at her. "Name, rank and position please?"

"Commander Celeste Yamaguchi, Executive Officer, USS Dreamcrusher," Celeste answered, a good-natured smile on her face.

"Thank you, Commander, go on through." the guard nodded. "Thank you for your cooperation."

Celeste smiled as she turned and went through into marine country, her smile faded as she noticed Brianna Hobbs nearby, being asked several questions but her uniform was medical teal rather than marine green. Celeste frowned as she noted that all her body language was wrong.
"Guys, whats going on?" she asked Gail Hobbs and everyone else present.

Gail gave Celeste the once over, not really sure if it was the Enyo she knew and avoided. "There has been a little mix-up." She told her.

"Yes, I noticed." Celeste smiled. "You still gonna be available for dinner tonight?" she inquired. "I know you work late and the like so I figured I'd come ask in person since you are a busy woman and I can skip work for a little while. Besides I can come torment my wife for a time."

Had Enyo already established herself on this ship? Gail asked herself. She had already gathered up a new uniform. Gail had no choice but to play along. "Dinner sounds nice. What time?"

"Oh, the usual. I'll make sure that the kits watch over Jackson so we get a little peace and quiet. You know how babies are." she responded with a grin. "So.. Should I surprise you with dinner or do you want anything in particular?" she inquired of Hobbs. "Don't forget to wear something nice.. and no, your marine ass can't wear the uniform."

Gail didn't know what to make of the marine remark. Clearly, she was wearing medical branch colors. "I'm good with whatever you or your wife makes," Gail replied.

It was then that Werner approached Gail. "Hey," he addressed Hobbs. "I need you to okay some weapons for Fender's squad. Do you think the Mark XII power supplies will give out too many amps too fast? What about grenades? Fender and bug want six for their squads but I'm thinking four per rifleman is enough. Whaddya think Ma'am?"

"I have no idea what you're talking about," Gail replied, obviously confused.

Celeste narrowed her eyes, how could she not know of things that Brianna would normally not hesitate about. "Maybe they are concerned about duds?"

Werner interjected. "Duds, no way. The bigger issue is the Mark XII power supplies. It can kill a Jem'Hadar but it would cut a hole through a human. Any internal organs and spine would be shattered like jelly."

"Sounds ghastly," Gail replied with a look of horror on her face.

It was then that Celeste's comm badge came to life. "Commander Yamaguchi, this is Major Rohr. Are you there Celeste?"

Celeste paused as she recalled the handsome Klingon Major. "Yeah Daisy, I'm here... Where are you?" she inquired with a smile on her face. "It's been too long since we hung out. I must borrow you from your husband for a time." her smile grew.

"Yeah," Daisy sounded hesitant. "I'm going to need your presence on Watchman Station please."

"Okay. I'm on my way. Want me to bring Brianna?" she inquired. "I have her here with me."

"Wait...what?" Daisy sounded confused. "Can you repeat that Celeste?"

"I have Brianna here with me," Celeste answered. "Daisy, whats going on?" Celeste raised an eyebrow as she regarded Hobbs who was nearby, she paused as she started to wonder if Hobbs was replaced with someone else. "Daisy... Whats happening over there?"

"Just get here please," Daisy replied. "And bring Hobbs too with a couple of marine escorts."

"Okay. I'm on my way. Yamaguchi out." she turned. "Bri, we're needed over on Watchman. Bring a couple of marines and let's go." she turned to depart.

"I'm rather busy with paperwork that I need to get done. I'll be with you shortly." Gail replied. She looked at Werner. "Take two marines and accompany the Commander."

"Will do, I'll take Bug and Unx," Werner replied before turning to follow Celeste.

Celeste frowned as she regarded the woman she assumed was her wife. "Alright. Then I'll see you at dinner." she turned and departed, the three marines with her. "Hey Gunny, did any of that seem odd to you?" Celeste inquired of Werner. "Maybe I'm just being paranoid but... I know my wife and that seemed a little strange to me." she paused. "Its probably nothing.." as the fur started on their journey.

"Well, not trying to be awkward Ma'am but why was she wearing your uniform? Do you guys have a laundry problem?" Werner asked.

"You have a point Gunny and its Celeste. No need to be official with me." Celeste pointed out. "Yes. I did notice that actually... and no, we don't have a laundry issue on Dreamcrusher. I also wear the red uniform rather than teal." Celeste narrowed her eyes.

Twenty minutes later. Celeste and her marines reached where Daisy was located. "Daisy. You demanded my presence. Whats going on?"

Daisy was sitting at her security desk. "Hello, Celeste. Where is Brianna?" She asked.

"Oh she decided not to come, said something about paperwork," she responded. "I think my wife has more or less lost her mind today." she shook her head. "So whats going on that you wanted me and the heavy mob for." she indicated the marines with her as she spoke.

Daisy cringed. "I wanted the marines to watch Hobbs. Follow me to the brig." Daisy then led the three back into the holding cells. In one of the cells, Brianna Hobbs sat on a bunk inside a cell.

Hobbs looked and then saw Celeste. She jumped up with excitement. "Celeste, tell bone face here that I'm not an enemy. She had me thrown in here for no good reason."

"Your an infiltrator!" Daisy shot back.

"I'm your friend! Why am I in here?" Brianna asked.

Celeste went white with horror. "Awww shit... Its a trick!" she growled softly before she turned to Werner. "Not this shit again!. Go back and find the other Hobbs." she paused. "My children are in trouble! again." she turned back to Daisy and then she regarded Hobbs. "How many times did I burp Jackson earlier today after I fed him?" Celeste inquired.

"Charon was feeding Jackson. He is watching him right now." Bri told them.

Celeste''s eyes went wide, the implications all hitting her all at once Before the tall female turned to Daisy. "This is my wife. The other Hobbs is on the Argonne and she's in her office." she indicated Brianna.

Hobbs was freed from the cell. Daisy tapped the combadge affixed to her chest. "Major Rohr to Operations. Start a fleet-wide search for Brianna Hobbs. She could be wearing any uniform. Detain her. Also, have Dreamcrusher dispatch a security team to Commander Celeste Yamaguchi's quarters."

The response came back. "Understood, we're on it. We'll also pass it along to all starships present docked here."

Meanwhile, back on Argonne, Gail Hobbs had removed her comm badge and was hiding in a Jeffries tube. She was unsure where to go next.

Celeste paused. "She looked and acted like you." she paused as she added. "Now I understand how you felt when you encountered the other me." she closed her eyes. "I need to go help find her." she paused as she regarded the other two women. "Daisy. Can you be spared?" she inquired. "I need to check the kits."

"Alright, I'll go with you," Daisy replied.

"I'm going too," Hobbs told them.

"No, you need to stay here. I don't need two Hobbs moving around the fleet." Daisy told her.

"Those are my children too!" Brianna shouted. "Besides, I outrank you. I give orders to you."

Daisy looked at Celeste, "Please ask her to stay."

Celeste paused, she was torn between the regulations and her conscience. "I can't ask that." she paused. "I will, however, ask that Brianna comes with me back home. She can look after the kits since they should have one of us there," she commented. "That way, she won't be moving around the ship and we can keep an eye on her." she paused. "I'm afraid that this is the best you'll get Daisy. I'm sorry."

Daisy mashed her teeth. "This isn't making this easier. Alright but only if she stays close."

"Fine, what are we waiting for?" as the three headed off.

"Werner to Rohr, the other Hobbs isn't here." He told them.

Celeste nodded, she tapped her combadge. "Yamaguchi to Werner. Have your marines start searching the Jeffress tube network on the Argonne. Assume she's armed and dangerous and plan accordingly." she paused. "Also assume that she's still on the ship and proceed."

"Okay, Commander. Werner out," he replied.

Celeste taped her combadge. "Yamaguchi to the bridge, we have uninvited guests aboard. Lock this ship down. Nobody comes or goes until this person is caught."

"Commander Yamaguchi, This is Captain Sorvok. You must have a good reason for your order so I will comply. Keep in mind only the Captain will decide who boards or leaves the ship and I would appreciate an explanation." He told her.

"Yes Captain I do," Celeste answered. "You have an intruder and I don't say this lightly," Celeste responded evenly, expecting this sort of resistance. "Colonel Hobbs has a duplicate from another reality loose aboard your ship. I'd like to try and catch her while she's still here."

"Understood. Thank you, Commander Yamaguchi. Commander Tienn, did you hear that?" Sorvok asked.

Tienn nodded her head. "I caught every word skipper and I'm already on it." the tall Bajoran female responded with a smile. "Sealing off all transporters, hangers and closing the airlock," she commented. "We'll sweep every square inch of this ship and we'll catch her." the tall Bajoran responded with a grin. "I will find you kitty and I will catch you kitty," she added as she went to work.

"Very efficient Commander," Sorvok noted.

"Thank you, sir. We will find our intruder soonest." the tall Bajoran responded. "With sixty percent of this ship's usual crew, that's going to take awhile but she won't get far."
