Operation: Dark Skies - Part Two

Mission: Mission 91: The Sum of All Fears
Location: ACSF Noble - High Orbit over B Kayor.
Timeline: 1900Hrs - August 29th, 2392

Warrant Officer Rachael Yamaguchi-Cullen sighed softly. "I don't know Ennis. The man wants me for disobeying orders.. but I didn't actually violate anything as that order was never given." Yamaguchi-Cullen shrugged in a manner that indicated she had given up.

Ennis Cullen knew that today should have been a happy day with his wife now being fully cancer-free and the issue would never return, also his wife's pregnancy was developing well, the twins were healthy and doing extremely well but the recent news regarding Rachael's troubles with Commander Thomas Lasky was chilling. "How bad do you think it'll get.?"

"I dunno. There is no real proof of his orders. I mean I went to the bridge to assist him as I know first hand how hard it can be to fly and shoot at the same time." Yamaguchi-Cullen explained. "We signed out emergency transporters each, I took two. I wasn't going to leave him there but he didn't give me a chance."

"Go on?" Cullen inquired of his wife.

"Well. I get to deal with Lasky soon enough, whenever he decides to get off his ass and quick being a gutless coward about it." There was no mistaking the anger coming from his wife and he knew that trying to calm her would only provoke her so he smiled. "Don't worry, it'll come out and then you can deal with him about it." Cullen smiled.

Yamaguchi-Cullen grinned. "Well, I was going to go with Saki and hone our skills in the martial sciences. I know she loves it and I have some well-trained holograms to help me. You sure you don't want to come?"

"I was never good with the discipline," Cullen admitted to his wife.

"That comes later. I think I'm learning how to stay on my surfboard though." Yamaguchi-Cullen smiled as she regarded her husband. "Besides. I had no idea you liked to get physical on the sand. You were memorable." as she grinned at him.

"So were you." Cullen grinned back at his wife. The door opened and in walked Saki, wearing a denim skirt and a tank top that really only kept her warm through effort. Her legs, however, were wrapped in bandages. "Hey guys," she announced herself.

"Oh hey Saki," Rachael commented. "How did the last procedure turn out?" she inquired of her daughter.

"My skin-graft operation, you mean mom?" Saki inquired. "It was okay, I mean.. It didn't hurt as I had the top two levels of my skin removed and it feels funny."

"You'll be tender for a few days while your body replaces the skin cells that were removed. Don't worry about it sweetie, you'll be fine." Cullen smiled at the young child he considered his daughter even through Saki looked nothing like him. To him, it was academic as Rachael was his wife and this made Saki his child. Any other considerations were irrelevant in his eyes."Come on over here and let's get you comfy."

"Okay, dad." Saki slowly ambled over, it very quickly became clear as to why Saki was having issues, Cullen came over and picked up Saki as if she weighed nothing. "Come on sweetie," he commented quietly.

Cullen gently placed Saki on the sofa. "Let's have a look." and with that, he caught his medkit which Rachael had tossed to him.

Saki blinked, she did not object or protest. "What are you doing?" the child inquired.

Cullen pulled out his tricorder as he gave Saki the once over. "Well y'see, lass, I can take my work home with me," he commented. "Let's see. Yep. Your skin is very tender so you're going to be tender for awhile." he paused. "Rachael. Could you come over here so we can look after this?"

Yamaguchi-Cullen nodded as she rose to her feet and moved over to her daughter's side. "I know what Ennis wants sweetie. Let's take a look at your legs and feet first," she commented with a smile.

"Oh. You want me naked for this?." Saki sounded unconcerned about the prospect of being nude before her mother which was something she had grown up with but Ennis was another matter, she knew he had a rather potent nudity taboo.

Yamaguchi-Cullen smiled as she watched Saki shed her clothing like she didn't have a care in the galaxy. "Alright. Let's see." and with that. Rachael went to work waving the dermal regenerator over her daughter.

Saki watched her mother work in silence as Cullen went over to get something for the three of them to drink.

"Okay." Rachael knew exactly what her daughter looked like nude and Saki was unconcerned as she knew what her mother looked like nude too. "Still I'm not sure what I'm going to do about it." she sighed as she received her drink from Cullen who had just come back.

"Do what mom?" Saki inquired of her mother.

"I have to deal with Commander Lasky, he wants to have me done for disobeying orders and there isn't really a whole heck of a lot I can do about anything," Yamaguchi-Cullen explained evenly.

Saki raised an eyebrow as she settled in to listen to her mother. "Go on mom.?"

Yamaguchi-Cullen sighed. "I sighed out two emergency transporter transponders as part of the damage control party when we were dealing with saving the Gorn homeworld." she sighed. "He didn't give me a chance to explain myself, he nearly got himself killed beaming me off the ship." she sighed softly.

"So.. Whats the issue mom?" Saki responded. "I'm not seeing it," she added.

Yamaguchi-Cullen sighed, she regarded her daughter. "Do not go making things worse for me young lady. I do not need Teval or Lasky breathing down my neck because you said or did something stupid."

"No mom. I'm asking because I'm worried." Saki answered honestly.

"Alright. Well, he wants me nailed for disobeying orders and for nearly getting him killed." Yamaguchi-Cullen explained evenly. "That's why."

"Ahh. Okay." Saki answered.

"You can get dressed now," Yamaguchi-Cullen commented to her daughter. "So twenty minutes then?. You were talking earlier about martial arts and some archery. I think you are overdue to vent with arrows."

"Yeah, Sounds great mom. I'll be ready." Saki then gathered up her clothing before she quickly dressed, she then retreated to her bedroom, with a devious smile on her lips.

Yamaguchi-Cullen waited for a moment after Saki had retreated into her bedroom. "Oh, she's up to something."

"What do you mean?"

"Saki thinks she's really devious but she's actually very obvious," Yamaguchi-Cullen commented with a smile.

Meanwhile, Saki Yamaguchi went into her bedroom, she went to the desk that she and Sarah shared for their computer. Saki tapped the display once, it lit upon demand. She called up her email and there were only two new items. The first was from Rear Admiral Jake Yamaguchi to all personnel and their dependents assigned to the Noble, something about proper rules and regulations or some twaddle. She reminded herself that Grandpa Jake was very important and she would get that letter soon.

The second of the two letters was the very person that Saki needed to talk to so she opened that one first. Mostly it was a chatter letter from Commander Siaxx Dvald who was off on her assignment, wherever it was, Saki had forgotten the name of the ship but she knew that Siaxx needed to hear about this little problem.

Saki let her fingers fly over the keyboard as she recalled what her mother had just told her about the situation that was bothering both Rachael and Saki herself. The requested information more or less took up a page and a half and then Saki checked it for spelling errors as the system had promoted her to do so.

Saki then re-read it, then she added a few details that she recalled which she had missed the first time, then she added a personal request to not hurt Tom Lasky. Saki sighed as she signed the letter. "Love Saki."

Saki then turned as she went to gather her things, while completely ignoring the cat that was watching her. "Meow?" Sandstorm commented

"Oh. Hey, kitty... What's up?" Saki inquired of him as he yawned loudly at her.

"Oh, you're tired. Okay. I'll let ya sleep them." as she gently kissed the kitty who didn't seem to mind the sudden attention before she went out the door with her cold-weather clothing.
