Commander Tom Lasky sighed softly as he saw at the work station inside the quarters he was living in, he tapped the display once as he had just requested a status update from the computer, the convoy was underway and on its way back to Goranar and would arrive quite early in the morning.

Lasky rubbed his forehead as he tapped the display twice. "Fuck I need a vacation," he muttered softly. "So Torilla dies in battle but five days later the Akurians with their fancy med-tech comes along and revives her. I'm not sure if her family will like this or outright despise this." Lasky paused. "I know I like this. Jake doesn't deserve to lose his wife and her children deserve to have Torilla around for many more years and as for Torilla. It simply was not her time." Lasky commented in his log entry as he quickly added a few more details about Torilla and how he felt about her, before ending his log entry.

Lasky rose to his feet before he went out the door into his quarters which were more or less listed as guest quarters until further notice, there were no signs of his son present anywhere which at times he didn't mind but at other times he did.

Now that Lasky was thinking of his son, he had misgivings about how his son was developing, he seemed to be oddly slow in his development but Lasky, for his part, wasn't sure as he never had children in his care before so he couldn't put his finger on the issue before him.

Lasky knew he needed a vacation so he decided he would do the next best thing. He tapped his small display on his small desktop computer on his desk. He requested that the bridge contact Commander Plataea Yamaguchi who was presently stationed on the USS Dreamcrusher.

A few minutes later, her face appeared. "Hey, Tom. Whats up?"

Lasky paused a moment. "I was just finishing my daily routine and I miss Kurt."

"I understand. But then I got lucky as all my kids are in the service and we were welcomed with open arms and now we're serving as part of a Starfleet that cares about its own, at times." she let out a breathy sigh. "I feel like I'm in heaven, living a fantasy. You know?"

"I do actually," he responded with a gentle smile. "We should get together for dinner when I get back to Goranar."

Plataea smiled. "I'd like that," she responded. "I see how the other two Torilla's life and.. I confess I want that."

"Nothing wrong with that." Lasky knew what she was getting at but then he had been jaded since his breakup with Zara Tane. "Well, first you need to find yourself a man or a woman. If you are so inclined."

"Yes, that's true. When he gets back, I'm going to have a little chat with him and see if he's open to the idea of developing a relationship with me." Plataea suddenly grinned at Lasky. "We'll see what the gentleman says on the subject soon enough," she added.

"Well. Let me know how things go with him. Maybe I can help play matchmaker." Lasky slowly smiled, it was clear that he had very little to enjoy these days.

"Really?" Plataea inquired with a wide smile. "That would be great. You might like the man in question. He's kind, gentle but he hides his vulnerabilities. He has a young child in the house so I need to proceed gently with him. He's worried about his son."

"Well being the man he is, I'd believe it." Lasky had a sneaking suspicion about who this man was but he didn't want to get his hopes up either. "Keep me informed, would Ya?"

"Consider it done," Plataea responded. "I didn't know you were a romantic."

"Hey. I can hope for the best, experience has taught me otherwise." Lasky sighed softly. "But such is life. No?" he asked of her. "Besides time has taught me patience."

"Indeed it is but hey." Plataea then slowly smiled at him. "For what its worth. I'm glad you're not dating Zara anymore, she was a child in a woman's body and after what happened with Saki. I'm surprised you didn't go banana's over it. You have a young son in the house, Tom. Your needs with women and relationships have changed. You want someone who has experience with children and someone who can help you with things. You don't want a woman who acts like a child and needs a certain level of hand-holding. You don't get the time for it anyway." the older woman responded with a gentle smile. "You want a woman in your life, who can help you with your son and can also give you other children..."

Lasky raised an eyebrow. "I cannot argue with your logic so I'll keep my options open. At least for now," he commented before he smiled at her. "I'd best get some sleep. It's been good talking to you."

"Take care Tom and I'll see you soon. Yamaguchi out." and with that, she hung up on him the screen went black as he smiled. "Maybe." as he rose to his feet and retreated into the bedroom, thinking of Plataea. There was something with her that he really liked and he thought that maybe he could try getting into another relationship with a woman, she would be the woman of his choice, he would have to tell her before it was too late as she had a roving eye and she was also looking at someone.
