The Alternates Alternate - Part Two

Mission: Mission 100: I'm Going to Ruin Somebody's Day
Location: Various Locations - Starbase Vanguard
Timeline: 1340Hrs - July 12th, 2393

It was lunchtime and newly promoted Captain Siaxx Dvald-Vaxx was now more confused these days than anything else, the small Bolian female had finished her paperwork over an hour before, she had gone home and changed out of her uniform, she had showered and had slipped on some civilian attire.

The small Bolian was wearing a waist-high pair of jean shorts over a dark green bodysuit with a circular cut with full sleeves which went down to her wrists. Siaxx recalled her style of attire when she last served on a ship named Roanoke and that was large heavy sweatshirts or sweaters over jeans and boots but now she didn't care.

Dvald-Vaxx's family was here and she would protect them, her fashion statement was designed to attract attention and she could tell that she was succeeding.

Meanwhile from the other entrance walked in newly promoted Staff Warrant Officer Rachael Yamaguchi, she smiled as she regarded her old friend and her second mother. She knew that Siaxx called her daughter and Saki granddaughter, what was more was that Rachael was alright with this.

Yamaguchi-Cullen smiled before she gently gave the smaller Bolian female a hug. "Hey, shall we eat?" she inquired. "I'm starving."

The small Bolian smiled. "Yes, Lets then I can share my news.. I still think I'm stuck in hell."

"I heard a rumor that Zara Tane is the skipper of this party boat."

Dvald-Vaxx regarded Yamaguchi-Cullen with her dark eyes. "That's not a rumor 'achee" her nickname was pronounced to sound like 'HE'. The acronym for high explosives.

"Aww shit." the younger woman sighed softly. "Fuck no."

"Oh yes and I'm confused about her... But she can only be experienced as its best I let you find out for yourself on that score, I do not wish to make a bad situation worse."

The two women got into the lineup for the replicators as they continued their chat. "Wait, hold it, mom. Let me get this right... You hate Zara Tane with the same passion that you bed your husband with. I've heard you go on at length about how much you hate her... and now you can't decide."

"Yeah... She's, I dunno what her game is but she has changed. Watch out for her, she's no longer the random, scatterbrained moron we used to serve with."

"Hey, that's the skipper mate." commented someone.

Dvald-Vaxx turned to face the offender. "Good for her, now why don't you beat it."

"Watch it little woman.." The man answered.

"Do not toy with us buddy," Yamaguchi-Cullen commented. "I'm here to eat lunch and chew bubblegum. I'm fresh outta gum."

Dvald-Vaxx sighed, this was getting out of hand. "Ensign, go back to your food and I won't need to worry about asking for your name so I can deal with you. You can relax, the skipper and I have a history that goes way back. She knows I dislike her so stop worrying about it but I will mention you to her, the next time I see her."

"Why would you do that?"

"You've never served on Roanoke before have you?"

"Nope, this is my first time, but I heard that this ship has quite a story, but I assumed it was all that, a tale and nothing more."

"Oh no, buddy. The stories you heard are all true." Yamaguchi-Cullen responded. "I should be seventeen years old but I'm actually twenty-five years old."

"How did that happen?"

"That's a long story and there was a temporal anomaly involved but it went down as a Roanoke story." the younger woman sighed.

"Lovely."

Dvald-Vaxx sighed. "Yeah," she commented as the two got to the front of the line, they ordered their food as the door opened and in walked Phoenix.

Dvald-Vaxx missed her but Yamaguchi-Cullen did not. "Phoenix is here."

"Let's go find a table," Dvald-Vaxx commented.

"Sorry," Phoenix apologized as she followed in-step with the other women. "New updates to tha Wallace field repair manual I had to review.... Between goin' to flight school to learn how to fly her, and readin' the constant changes to its operational manual, been busy."

Phoenix was dressed in khaki cargo shorts, brown sandals, and thin spaghetti strap, red top.

Dvld-Vaxx regarded Phoenix in silence a moment. "We were just having lunch," she commented. "Join us.." she added.

Rachael regarded Phoenix in silence, she had three slices of pizza. "Mmm. I want another baby."

"Wait 'til it's time ta pay for college," Phoenix spoke as she reached for a menu. "Might want ta stop at what ya got. Unless your kids want ta be part of the fleet or fighter corps? Gettin' 'em into a good school is very hard... Took me a month of free weekends and borin' dates ta get Aryssa's appointment with the Betazed Culinary Science Institute."

Dvald-Vaxx smiled. "Let's go sit down," she commented. Moments later the three women were seated around a table. 'achee." she commented. "Why do you want more kids?"

"Because I do. I have had a great time with Olivia and Anthony." Yamaguichi-Cullen answered. "Its been a lot of work."

"Then leave it for a while, don't work yourself to death 'achee." Siaxx answered with a smile.

"Alright.." the younger woman sighed softly. "Phoenix, mom says hello and demands you contact her. She is most wroth with you."

"I know... I haven't had time to see Aryssa much this past year," Phoenix spoke guiltily. "Kid's on tha list for PO3. Just finished her ship gally quals and bakery certs."

"Nice," Yamaguchi-Cullen answered. "For my birthday party, I wonder if I could ask her to bake me a cake with all the frosting and pretty bows," she commented. "So. Why are you two wearing skimpy clothing? I feel a tad overdressed." she commented.

Dvald-Vaxx smiled. "Because I want to show off my figure. Hey, at least I wore shorts."

Yamaguichi-Cullen raised an eyebrow. "Oh, you're wearing a body suit... Oh, I had no idea you liked the minimalist approach to clothing."

"I also plan to fuck my wife tonight," Phoenix snickered. "Not been in port with her in a while so I intend to make Siaxx scream."

Yamaguchi-Cullen smiled. "Why the wait?." she inquired. "Its noon and everyone else is at work, the kids are at school and Heraxx is at daycare."

Dvald-Vaxx regarded Phoenix. "Let's eat first, I think I will need the calories."

Yamaguchi-Cullen laughed before she turned her attention to her food. "Mmm. Pizza." and with that, she began eating her food. Siaxx likewise began eating her own food.

"So yall seen Tane, I take it?" Phoenix winked. "Weird seein' her sober."

"Weird, that's not the word I'd use," Dvald-Vaxx answered quietly. "She promoted me back to Captain but it doesn't take effect until we reach our destination."

Yamaguchi-Cullen snorted in disgust. "You should be a fucking Division Admiral by now. Or even a Rear Admiral. Not a Captain."

"It's better then nothing.." Dvald-Vaxx answered.

"She was on the R&D team, doin' final alterations to the Wallace. Rumor has it she was in rehab, before that..." Phoenix whispered lowly. "Never touched a drink or a cig while I was there."

Rachael raised an eyebrow. "Well, I can't say much on that. Considering that stunt with the tank and Saki almost getting killed." she sighed. "on Niven."

Dvald-Vaxx slowly regarded Phoenix with her eyes. "You know how little stock I put in rumors." the small Bolian explained. "Remember what happened with Torilla... The Trill holds steady and when a real challenge comes along, she comes apart at the seams. Torilla had to clean up her mess on more than one occasion... Why do you think we've not heard squat out of any other members of your family."

"I had wondered about that."

"Last I heard, your mom was commanding the Heavy Carrier, Grey Wolf and she's as happy as a clam, from what I've heard. I'm stuck here, wearing a rank that means nothing to me when I should be a fucking Admiral by now." Siaxx sighed. "I wish your mother had taken me with her when she was given the Grey Wolf." the small Bolian added.

Rachael nodded. "I wondered about that. I'll ask her tonight when I contact her," she added.
