Mission: Mission 100: I'm Going to Ruin Somebody's Day
Location: Various Locations - Starbase Vanguard
Timeline: 1340Hrs - July 12th, 2393

Commander Siaxx Vaxx-Dvald was busy doing the paperwork in the office that she was borrowing, she did not know who the permanent Commanding officer of the USS Roanoke-A was and at this point in time, she did not really care who it was either.

The lights were down quite low as Siaxx liked it darkened, it helped her concentrate when suddenly the door beeped at her.

"It's Open!" Vaxx-Dvald called out before the small Bolian female sat back in her chair. "Computer lights to normal." as she prepared to face her visitor.

Dvald-Vaxx watched the doors slide open and then closed again as she found herself looking at someone whom she had never expected to see again. "Well now, this is new.," Dvald-Vaxx commented. "Someone in Starfleet personnel hates me," she commented. "Let me help you with this. You're lying in bed, your brain is marinating in the booze you imbibed last night except you are hallucinating." Dvald-Vaxx said in a snide tone of voice.

"I've been sober for well over a year and a half," Zara spoke simply. She was wearing khaki cargos and a navy polo shirt. The fact she had a combadge on meant she was still fleet. "Read you married... Things are happy, yes?"

Dvald-Vaxx regarded the small Trill female before her. "Things with my children and my husband are good." as she growled. "Do not go near my children or else." she narrowed her eyes. "What my granddaughter sees in you, is a great mystery to me and to her mother," Dvald-Vaxx added.

"I've my own kid to take care of," Zara assured as if the threat did not bother her. "Friend in R&D made me his son's godmother... In the process of adopting him."

Dvald-Vaxx regarded Tane in silence for a moment. "I think that's insane," she said after a moment. "You are not good with children. My granddaughter and daughter both bear the scars of your misdeeds." as she sat back in her chair. "Why are you here?. Now... On this ship... Why am I here on this ship... is it because you wanted to fuck with me some more." there was something dark in Siaxx's tone. "You can never be forgiven for what you did to me the first time around..."

"I had no intention of asking... It's not my right to ask," Zara spoke understandably. "I don't expect you to understand me, Siaxx - you never bothered to open yourself to that possibility. But I do recognize the things I did as a child aren't things Saki needed to experience. She is a child, and I treated her like an adult when I shouldn't."

Dvald-Vaxx regarded Tane for a moment. "I do not understand you. I highly suspect that I never will." as the small Bolian sat back and put her feet up on the desk. "I assume you'll want the office?"

"You seem busy, so I can wait." Zara sat in a vacant armchair and put her feet up on the front of the desk. "Roanoke is assigned to Stardock 827... She'll flagship all the other ships garrisoned in reserve there. When not in use, most of the ship's current senior officers will have O6 commands within the station."

She looked upon Siaxx, gauging for a reaction.

"Mostly I'm just doing paperwork, for supplies and toys and gear. Y'know, the mundane stuff." she commented as she regarded the Trill woman before her, Dvald-Vaxx had a confused look before she narrowed her eyes. "So how did you swing that?" she inquired. "You get away with some really insane shit Zara. I think you have no business in the uniform and yet. You sit there all nonchalant like nothing is wrong."
Dvald-Vaxx answered. "So... again, what do you want with me?. I am never rid of you."

"I want you to continue to do a great job with your duties," Zara answered gently. "I want you to enjoy being a mother with your kids, and I want you to climb so high in this fleet that your kids will be set - no matter what their careers be."

"I should have been a Rear Admiral. Not a Commander. I was demoted to cover the actions of others." Dvald-Vaxx answered. "Then you tried to strip me of the last decent thing in my career.. and then Tienn had me thrown in a cell for the night. Remember what you accused me of.."

"I have a few connections at Medical, if you wish the blemish gone," Zara offered. "Your name was on the Captain's list this go 'round though."

Dvald-Vaxx sighed. "I do not understand you. You break my brain sometimes.. Like now. What is your angle.?" she narrowed her eyes, a suspicious look on her face. "Out with it already. I'm only getting older."

"Just trying to do right with the people I done wrong," Zara answered quietly. She glanced distantly out the window. "...Was in a position to do a lot of thinking, before my R&D TAD posting. You, Saki, Rachael, Torellia... Hurt a lot of folks. Done a lot of wrongs."

"Rachael is here on Roanoke-A. With Saki but I have no idea of where Torilla is. Last I heard she was assigned to Operation: Sojourner. Jake commands it... I think." she then shrugged. "I know he's stationed at Starbase One Eighty-Five," Dvald-Vaxx explained. "At least you are not Nalla. He might talk to you, if you were to contact him." she paused. "Torilla... Don't even bother. Same with Elizabeth." Dvald-Vaxx explained. "I can only guess what Gabe or Savannah thinks of you."

Zara looked down at her lap. Her remorse and pain were her own - and it took several long moments of silence before she looked back to Siaxx.

"When we met, I assumed you were a lot like how I once perceived Phoenix. I wrong-footed our meeting and how I treated the both of you was unfair." She grew quiet again, then bit her lower lip, as if trying to keep it together. "I am not asking for friendship. I am asking we both start fresh. Where that goes, is up to you."

Dvald-Vaxx sighed softly. "I still do not understand you but." she sighed softly. "I will attempt to keep an open mind because I keep telling my sons to set an example. I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't follow my own advice." she paused. "You do not come across as Zara Tane... She'd be either running away, or medicated or she'd offer to let me beat the crap out of her."

"I'd not blame you if you did take a swing at me," Zara shrugged before she stood up, pulled a box out of her back pocket, and laid it in front of Siaxx. "Be as it may, this is yours... You will need to order new uniforms to match it - if you choose to stay and take the posting as Station Dispersing Officer - as well as one of my advisors."

Siaxx watched her in silence before she accepted the small box. "You came in here to promote me back to my rank of Captain." she paused. "I will consider it."

"I suggest you go home early. Spend time with your family," Zara smiled, if only a little. She then nodded respectfully to Siaxx before parting the room.

Dvald-Vaxx blinked her eyes, this meeting had not gone as she had expected while she watched the small Trill female depart the room, she did not reek of booze or seem anything other then what she looked. That alone, made Siaxx suspicious on the subject. "I got paperwork to finish." the small Bolian said to the empty room. "Then I can go home." as she looked down at the small black box sitting before her, if she accepted it then she'd be stuck in Starfleet for another few years and she was not sure if it was something she wished for.

The small Bolian tapped her combadge. "Dvald-Vaxx to Vaxx?"

"Go ahead Siaxx." came the response from her husband.

"When you finish your shift, we must talk. I just got something I didn't expect and we need to talk about it." Siaxx sounded more resigned then anything else.

"Okay, we can discuss it over dinner tonight," Chen commented, he sounded cheery as he knew he did not upset his wife.

"Sounds good. Dvald-Vaxx out." The small female tapped her combadge again before she went back to work.
