Mission: Mission 79: Sound Trumpets! Let Our bloody Colors Wave
Location: Deep Space - Various Locations
Timeline: 0900Hrs - April 14th, 2392

Commodore Stephen Caldwell who was listed as Commanding Officer of the Coral Sea Squadron, with his flag based on a Champion Class starship and he was commanding a battle group of ships which were all assembled under his command, he was sitting in his command chair and all stations were manned and ready. He now waited for the countdown to zero hour and the start of the offensive to come. Caldwell let out a soft sigh as it was well known that the man hated waiting. "Status?" he inquired of the Captain of the USS Coral Sea. "Is everyone ready?"

"We're just finishing the last of the workload right now, Everyone will be ready before zero hour sir." responded Captain Omar Massey who handled the day to day running of the Coral Sea.

"Very well Captain .." Caldwell responded. "Has our target changed?"

"No, sir... We're still expected to attack Sh'slaar which seems to have been attacked by the Klingons recently." Massey explained. "Apparently the Gorn blunted the Klingons attack but it's bogged down into a stalemate."

"Seems to have been attacked?" Caldwell responded, sounding like he didn't believe it.

"I don't get it either sir... Either they did or they didn't. I'm going to assume they did and plan accordingly." Massey sighed.

"Do we know anything about what happened to the Gorn defenses?"

"Starfleet Intelligence is looking into the matter, sir. they say they will get back to me on the matter." Massey sounded irritated at that one.

"Naturally." Caldwell sighed. "Well if they give you any attitude, let me know and I'll deal with them," Caldwell answered. "I don't like shitheads giving my people attitude."

"Aye, sir." as he received a PADD. "On that note sir... all stations are now manned and ready... zero hour is 30 minutes away." Massey reminded Caldwell of the time.

"I understand.." Caldwell rose to his feet. "I'm going to tour the ship, Commander... Just in case.." he paused. "Call it a hobby if you like."

"Tradition sir?"

"Yes. You should command the bridge of your ship Omar... I'll walk the ship and then I'll be in the CIC." and with that Caldwell departed his bridge to do exactly what he had said he would do.

Meanwhile over on the USS Fall of Berlin. Captain Leah Anderson smiled as she was seated in her command chair. "Soon we will deal with this mess as it should have been sorted out long ago..." the tall, dark skinned female said more to herself than anyone else.

Robert Anderson smiled softly to himself as he knew exactly how his wife thought on the matter, their children had been left on Starbase 54 before their deployment to this area of the line and he knew that his wife really did not like being separated from her children. But then neither did Anderson himself.

Commander Maurice Logan regarded his commanding officer. "Twenty-five minutes to go sir... Our target still remains the same."

"I should hope so," Anderson responded. "Sh'slaar... What do we know of it?" she turned her head as she asked her senior tactical officer rather than her chief science officer.

"Not a heck of a lot sir.. the Klingons attacked in force..." came the expected response.

Anderson paused. "Naturally," she responded. "But why there? is there anything special located here?" the black-skinned female inquired.

"It's one of the Gorn fleets main anchorages." the Chief of Operations supplied the unexpected answer.

"Ahh." Anderson sighed softly, her tone of voice carrying. "So.. did it fall?" she inquired.

"I've been asking Starfleet intel that for hours... nothing so far." the Executive Officer responded.

"Lovely. With twenty minutes to go before we start this dance.." Anderson growled softly as she tapped the display on the right armrest of the command chair. "Bridge to Science?"

"Go ahead." came the voice of Lt Commander Malcolm Fitzgerald

"Are you guys ready down there?" Anderson responded. "I suspect that the Klingons will use their hit and run strike tactics against us..."

"We're ready for everything and anything skipper... All systems are online and all my people are set." came the response from Fitzgerald.

"Good." Anderson then smiled as she disconnected. "The sooner we finish, the sooner we can go home." she knew she was wasting her breath but it was nice to get her hopes up.

Meanwhile nearby, on the USS Commonwealth, one of the new Guardian class battleships. Commodore Robert Antilles sat quietly in his command chair with his eyes closed, he was trying to meditate for a few moments before the battle started on what was sure to be a long winded and stupid fight the Federation really didn't need to be dealing with at this point in time. "Mirith, time?" he inquired of his wife.

"ten minutes." came the voice of his wife.

"Alright.." he sighed softly. "Is everyone set?"

"All stations manned and ready, D/C parties are ready to go across all decks and security and marines have been deployed, rifles have been issued to every fireteam." Mirith Sinn-Antilles explained with a smile on her face as she turned to regard her husband.

"If these men do not die well. It'll be a black matter for the king who leads them to it." he turned. "Mirith. Inform Admiral Caldwell that we're ready..."

"Aye skipper." Mirith Sinn-Antilles responded, a soft smile playing at her lips as she knew how her husband felt at this point in time. "Message sent... receipt acknowledged."

"Now... We wait.." Robbie sighed softly as Meanwhile over on the USS Musashi. Captain Gabriel Warfield regarded the sensor display of the battlegroup around his own ship, some hundred and twenty Federation ships of various types and classes were gathered for this first attack, into the Goranar sector. "See something we missed Number one?"

"Maybe I'm just being paranoid sir... " Commander Javier Henry commented. "The formation looks good and so does everything else... We're a little light on threat assessment but that's to be expected, the Klingons have to know we're coming.." the first officer explained.

"That's why we shoot first, to disable and ask questions afterward.." Warfield responded, his thoughts going to his wife who was present the commander of Starbase 12. "We'll make this work."
