Resurrection - Part Two

Location: Federation Orbital Station - B Kayor
Timeline: 1830Hrs Local Time - April 10th, 2392

Fleet Admiral April Yamaguchi had just signed off with her husband who was blatantly hitting on her, she had nothing against her husband telling her in no uncertain terms that he wanted to fuck her, she just hated that sometimes he couldn't make good on his promise but this wasn't his fault however.

Yamaguchi went out of the office she was borrowing from the base commander as she went to see her next person on her list before she would call Heather who was in the process of being reassigned to the Beta Quadrant with the seventh fleet. Her husband would come along with her at the same time.

She reached her destination shortly as she tapped the door chime.

The expected response, "Enter." came a moment later. April tapped the door release before she entered her younger brothers temporary accommodations. "Jake... You heard yet?" she said as she entered his living area.

Jake Yamaguchi was still wearing his uniform, eating dinner, he swallowed the mouthful of chicken in his mouth as he washed it down with a healthy sized mouthful of the juice he had been drinking. "Mmm... No.. heard what?" Jake swallowed the mouthful of food in his mouth as he washed it down with a mouthful of his drink.

"Our mother is alive Jake." April paused until Jake had finished the food and drink that was in his mouth unless he would either gag on his food or spit it out.

"Say what?!" Jake's response was quick. "April... She died at the-" before April interrupted him.

"I know she died at the Wolf System Jake. I was there remember but I am trying to tell you that she is alive." as she placed the PADD onto the table next to his dinner.

Jake indicated the food before him. "Help yourself." as he gently picked up the PADD April had brought him, he quickly leafed through it before he stopped, eyeing his elder sister with a measured look. "April... When did this happen?" he inquired of her.

"Two days ago," April responded. "I only found out myself thirty minutes ago... Even Torilla wasn't told until command told her about an hour ago, then they told Franklin who told me and now I'm telling you."

For Jake, it had not yet sunk in that his mother was alive. "Its been twenty-five years almost to the day... Torilla and I were both cadets, Lee didn't yet exist. Talon was an Ensign, so was Coral and you were a new Lieutenant JG." he sighed with a smile on his face. "Now look at us... Coral's gone and the rest of us are Admirals and fleet commanders."

"Yeah... and Mom is alive Jake," April responded. "I'm gonna leave the PADD with you... Let you process the news okay."

"Thanks. I'll call Torilla after I finish my dinner... What about you?"

"I'm gonna call Heather first... She's the furthest so... It'll be a pain to get a hold of her." April responded.

"Yeah. I can handle Talon if you want.. She's not far away." Jake answered.

"Her new husband is probably having his way with her as we speak.." April responded with a rather evil grin.

"Thanks April. I didn't need that image in my head." Jake responded in a rather dry tone of voice.

April only laughed at that statement. "Alright, well I'd best get going and leave you to it.." and with that the older, tallest female Yamaguchi turned and departed as Jake went back to his dinner.

'Mom's alive..' Jake thought as he mindlessly wet through his dinner and then he began to read the PADD that April had left him to read. "Computer, open a secure channel to the USS Courageous, I need to speak with her Captain."

Moments later, a voice came over the com system. "Courageous. Yamaguchi here."

"Hey Torilla. I heard you got the news." Jake inquired of his wife who he missed.

"Yeah, I can't quite make myself believe it Jake... It seems almost too good to be true.. Mom's alive.. I ... I just can't believe it." Jake heard the hesitancy in her tone and he understood why she was saying it, whats more is that he also considered this too good to be true.

"I know." Jake responded softly. "I feel the same way too. Its not quite sunk in yet... April just told me not five minutes ago."

"Ahh... She didn't let me tell you because she wanted to be the one to tell you... Even though she told me first.. and thats only because I was with the mission to deal with the Borg should they get stupid."

"That explains a few things then." Jake responded. "April just departed so... I can understand why she didn't want you telling me even though it's not her place to tell you that."

"The kits are being a handfull, I decided not to fight her on the matter and focus my efforts there." Torilla explained patiently.

"Ahh... Are they well?" Jake inquired of the kits.

"They are eating more and slowly overcoming their skittishness." Torilla explained. "Their fur is starting to regrow and grooming them is getting easier now then it was earlier."

"I can imagine." Jake responded as a smile graced his lips. "Well.. give the kits my regards alright.." Jake responded. "I need to take care of a couple of things, finish dinner and call Talon and let her know... assuming she's not busy with her husband."

"Alright.. then what?" Torilla inquired.

"Then I'll be over once I finish here, to spend time with you and the kits, the twins can get to meet them and Noble Team... I brought them all with me."

"I look forward to it." Torilla grinned. "Talk to you soon." and with that she hung up as Jake paused. "Computer Open a secure channel to the USS Shinano, I would like to talk to her squadron Commander." he paused. "Talon Yeager."
