Posted on Fri Mar 6th, 2020 @ 3:15pm by Division Admiral April Dragon & Major Sir Bruce "Scorch" Fraser, 15th Baron Fraser of North Cape & Division Admiral Celeste Yamaguchi-Hobbs

Mission: Mission 64: Mortal's Chiefest Enemy
Location: AQ-2834-474-Ab also known as Dylans World
Timeline: 1100Hrs - February 13th, 2392

The gentle breeze was hot to the touch and Celeste felt herself instantly starting to perspire as she looked around, she knew that April Dragon wasn't much better off but a pall of smoke drew her attention to the western skies. "That's... not good."

Kelly Shaddock nodded her head. "Indeed Commander. Not at all.." she quickly took in the scene at a glance. "We must go to their aide."

The party of four started moving as one of them was small in stature and the other was pregnant. Shaddock led the way as Scorch looked after everyone present. "Not much is going to grow here... This place is a desert.."

"Its an arid savannah, the fools in orbit didn't want us doing so well that we could eventually rise up and remove their threat from our skies."

"Have you been mistreated by them?" Dragon inquired gently.

"No Admiral Dragon. They have ignored us for the most part.. Except they don't want us getting off of this continent so they forbade us any weapons of any kind and they exiled us here to live in something akin to the Neolithic era... Except we're far more organized.."

"I understand.. How far to the settlement?"

"About two minutes at my normal pace but about ten at this place.."

"I'm sorry.." Celeste commented softly.

"Don't be... I don't mind as it allows me to think of what to say to our leaders.." Shaddock responded. "Is the Federation still out there.?"

"Oh yes and its stronger then ever.. the Federation has endured and whats more.. it thrived.."

"On the backs of us."

"A lot of others too.." Dragon responded. "Though I think Commander McKnight wants to bring you home."

"Home... What is home?" Shaddock responded. "The Federation treated my kin and parents like they had violated some archaic law.." she went on.

"Well... You might be surprised to learn that I was once a part of Project: Spartan." Dragon explained.

"I can see the resemblance... What of him?" Shaddock indicated Scorch. "The handsome one."

Scorch for his part, simply watched the two women interact as Yamaguchi turned to him. "You okay?"

"I'm good Commander. Just enjoying the ambiance." Scorch responded as he reflected in the scenery around them.

"None of this stuff bothers you?" Yamaguchi pressed to get to the heart of the matter.

"Nope." he responded. "They are Federation citizens and they are the wronged party here in this situation Commander. My duty is clear, as is my response."

"Fair enough."

Shaddock and the others made their way into the settlement as a half dozen Klingons all fled on foot, heading towards them when one of them was impacted by a spear that went right through the Klingon and drove him into the ground, dead before he hit the dirt.

A half dozen Spartans approached, weapons in hand as they got into it with the fleeing Klingons, half of them elected to fight while one ran into Scorch's fist and dropped to the deck, the last one grabbed Celeste Yamaguchi, she bashed his face with her elbow before Kelly Shaddock snatched him off of Yamaguchi and proceeded to break his neck with violent force.

Yamaguchi nodded. "Thanks.."

"Your welcome..." as the foursome moved onwards towards the other assembled Spartans. "Kelly..?" one of them said quietly. "Is that you?"

"Hey John." Shaddock smiled as she gently touched John with two over her fingers on the side of his face. "I'm back... The Klingons couldn't keep me or their captives captive... But I owe my rescue to these." she indicated the three Federation officers nearby. "They saved me and the others... They are all being checked out on the Federation ship in orbit."

"I imagine they will want to cut us loose again."

"Actually. Thats what I'm here to sort out with your leadership.."

John turned his head as he regarded April Dragon. "I don't believe it... I never expected to see you ever again."

"Hello John... Its been a long time." Dragon responded, as the massive man came over and without effort, picked her up and gently hugged her. "Mom!"

"Woooah!" Dragon wasn't expecting the welcome as her child who was more then twice her size and mass hugged her, though to be honest it felt more like he was crushing the life out of her before he gently set her back down again.

"I never expected to see you again Mom... We have many questions.."

"I will try to answer as best as I can... But I come with an offer for every single last man, woman and child on this planet." Dragon said evenly.

"You'll want to talk to Susanna Hood. This way.."

Scorch regarded the Spartans before him, he then slung his rifle over his shoulder. "Are there any other Klingons around?"

"Not that we can find." came the response.

Scorch nodded as he tapped his combadge. "Scorch to Dreamcrusher, I need a sensor scan planetside for any other Klingons.."

"I'm on it Major. I'll update you as to the results when come in." came the voice of Lieutenant Kameron Yamaguchi. "Nothing within a hundred miles of your position."

"Excellent. Thank you." Scorch responded.

"So.. tell me something little man.. does it bother you that we were cooked up in a lab to fight someone elses war?"

Scorch looked up at the Spartan who he felt had good cause to be angry. "Nope, it doesn't bother me at all... Because I'd rather have you guys as my allies then as my enemies... Besides.. Life is life, what matters is who we are.. not what we are... as far as I'm concerned.. You guys are a human as I am and I will see to it you are given what you rightfully deserve."

The half dozen spartans all shared looks of surprise. "I was expecting you to be the type who is a genetic purist that only mundane humans can advance anywhere..."

"Oh.. I keep an open mind gentlemen.. I'm not as limited in my thinking as some others I could mention.." he then smiled as a spartan slapped his across the shoulders, which almost sent him sprawling. "If more of the Federation thought as you did... We would never have been exiled."

Scorch had heard enough. "As far as I am concerned... Your exile ends today.."

One of the females turned to Celeste Yamaguchi. "What say you Commander?"

"I agree with him." she indicated Scorch. "This bullshit is going to end... One way... or another.."

Kelly Shaddock came over. "Mudflap, are you behaving yourself..."

"No. I am going to take the Commander home and bed her.." he responded as Celeste chuckled softly. "Is that a tease or a promise."

Kelly chuckled as the other Spartans present all started laughing. "Ahh someone with a sense of humor. Fuck.. Now my life is truly complete..." as the large Spartan regarded Celeste carefully. "I hope you're mate realizes how lucky he or she is."

"Oh she knows." Yamaguchi responded. "But we must see your leaders to get things started... Then I will share a drink with you all when we are far away from this place."

April Dragon smiled as she watched from a distance. "Well John... Let's go meet with your leaders.."

John nodded. "Right this way."
