Lieutenant Monique Deepshadow approached her destination as the bell tolled her fate, the great doom was at hand and she could not escape her fate, her breathe caught in her throat as she processed all of the news all at once, this was her father and she was on her way to speak with him. How would he respond when she told him, would he accept her.. or would he laugh at her or would he dismiss her.

She honestly had no way to know because she didn't know him, she wondered if she had any right calling him her father, she reached her destination while all of these thoughts were processing through her mind like shooting stars across a star system, when two of them suddenly collided. "He is my father and thats the end of it, he might not want me but by fucking Christ. he WILL respect me!" she said softly to herself while she turbolift she was ensconced inside, sped to its destination caring nor for her troubles.

The doors opened and out she stepped, she turned left and went down the hallway in silence, before reaching her destination.

She looked at the man who was clearly Captain Yeager's aide. "Hello... I'm Lieutenant Monique Deepshadow... is Captain Yeager about?"

"He is ma'am." Petty Officer 3rd Class Gavin Summers responded as he took a moment to check his boss's schedule. "He's available... I assume you'd like to see him?"

"I would. yes... Its a... a f-family matter." Deepshadow stammered

"I understand.." he tapped the com. "Summers to Yeager. Sir I have someone here to see you."

"Send them in." came Yeager's response, from within his office.

"Go on in." Summers said unnecessarily. Deepshadow went around the desk and into the inner office, as she crossed the doorway into the den of hell itself, she abandoned all hope. "Captain Yeager... We must talk."

"Lieutenant.. You look like someone turfed you out of your quarters. Yeager responded. "Come in, have a seat... Can I get you something to drink?"

"A tarkalian tea please.." The younger woman responded quietly, her hands shook while she began to fidget.

Yeager knew exactly why she had ordered that drink, it didn't take a telipath to guess what was going on with the young woman before him. "Okay.." and with that he ordered her drink and a glass of water for himself. He placed her drink before her. "Take a deep breathe first... In through the nose and out through the mouth slowly... and relax..." Yeager said softly as he placed the drink on the table before her.

Deepshadow did so as she forced herself to relax. "Again.." Yeager almost commanded her, she did so a second time. "Now... Whats wrong?" he inquired in a much more gentle tone..

"Sir... I ... Well I am .... I am your daughter." Deepshadow tossed at him before she all but thrust the PADD into his hands. "The proof."

"Well." Yeager responded with a soft smile. "I don't even know your name.." before he glanced at the PADD In hand, it was a medical report regarding a paternity test, on it was her name, her mothers name and his name too.

"Monique... Monique Deepshadow.." Deepshadow sallowed a mouthful of her drink as if to fortify herself.

"Ahh... Your mother would be Leah Deepshadow?. I assume?" Yeager inquired, already sure of the answer.

"Yes.." Deepshadow's calm veneer only went skin deep, her fear was rapidly turning into raw terror as she started hyperventilating.

Yeager gently took her hand. "Stop breathing Monique.. Its gonna be alright." as he came around the desk to comfort her. He gently took her hands in his a second time.. "It took courage for you to come here and tell me this." as he gently tried to comfort her.

"I expected... you to... deny me....." Monique struggled to get out.

"No.. You are my flesh and blood. Had I known... I would have done right by your mother." Yeager responded quietly.

"My mother is a fucking whore and a slut, she spent months fucking everyone in sight when she was at the academy..." Deepshadow hissed at him. "I hate her for what she did to me."

"She abandoned you with someone... Didn't she?" Yeager asked softly.

"With my aunt Miranda... who raised me until age thirteen when she sent me back to mom so she could enlist in Starfleet. Mom and I ... we never really got along and I couldn't leave home soon enough.."

"I'm Sorry Monique... Had I known..." Yeager responded quietly.

"It doesn't matter..." Deepshadow sighed. "It would have changed little..."

"It does matter... Well it does to me anyway... You tell me that you are my lost daughter and brought me the proof to back that up then who am I to argue the point?" Yeager responded quietly. "Besides.. I always have space for one more at the dinner table..."

Deepshadow suddenly hugged Yeager, he gently hugged her back. "Besides.. Your about Sammy's age.."

"Sammy?" Deepshadow inquired. "Whos that?"

"My other daughter from my first wife who is dead... She'd be overjoyed to know she has an adult sister around. I'll contact Talon and let her know."

"Talon ..... As in Talon Yamaguchi?"

"Yes... You know her?"

"I've taken a few of her martial arts classes... I've even babysat for her children... Now.. I guess they are my step-siblings.." Deepshadow responded, a heavy tone of irony in her voice.

"Only if you want Monique... You don't have to demand anything from me.."

"I.. I'd like to get to know you... I've always wanted to know who my father was.... What sort of man is he?" Deepshadow inquired. "Now... I will have my answer."

"Yeager is a man, like any other. with his successes and his flaws for all to see." Yeager explained. "I'd like to get to know you too.." his smile widened.

Deepshadow paused as she lifted the mug as if seeing it for the first time, she then drained the glass slowly over a period of about ten seconds as Yeager watched her in silence. He knew she was calming down from the last five minutes. He smiled. "Feeling better?"

"Mmm. Yessir."

"Davijaan... You don't have to call me sir... makes me feel old and overly important... I am nether."

Monique couldn't help herself, it just came out as a laugh escaped her as she remained seated as the two began talking, wanting to get to know each other.
