What a Trainwreck

Posted on Thu Mar 5th, 2020 @ 12:47am by Division Admiral Thomas Lasky & Commander Moni Nasao PhD & Commander Vrenn Chan & Master Chief Petty Officer Uldyssian Davis

Mission: Mission 54: Where Snow Meets Sky
Location: Niven system
Timeline: Morning - December 13th 2391

Sixteen starships dropped out of Warp in the Niven system, six of them Akurian vessels and Ten federation starships.

Teval walked onto the bridge, while Rykar commented," Are all akurian ships so large, even their escorts are as long as Dreamcrusher."

Teval shrugged, "Yeah but Akurians... We don't miniaturize our technology to be as small as possible, nor do we build our ships to be as dense, so in terms of mass our fleet escorts don't get any heavier than most smaller light cruisers."

Rykar nodded while Lasky and Zara arrived on the bridge, while Teval took a seat in the command chair," Well we are here."

Lasky raised an eyebrow as he sat down in the Exec's chair. "So... this is the place huh... Alright... Lets get this shitshow underway."

"Who are the big wigs we're meeting with, and what do they like to eat and drink?" Zara asked to anyone in the room.

Lasky shrugged as he had no idea. He then tapped his combadge. "Lasky to Chan. Could you come up here?"

"On my way sir." came the response.

A minute or so later the doors opened and in walked the Klingon Diplomat. "You screamed?"

"Tell me about their leadership... what do they like to eat, drink and the like?"

Chan sat down in the chair next to Teval on his left as he pondered that one. "Their leadership is in a state of flux at the present time."

Rykar, whom was monitoring the mews channels got an alert, and after a minute of looking over the report she added," Oh wow, this just got daft."

Lasky raised an eyebrow. "Whats going down Rykar?" he inquired of the female officer seated at Ops as he shifted his attention to her.

Rykar carefully read the report then said," Well, a Betazed accountant just blew the whistle on house Carys, apparently that house was the main one responsible for embezzling funds from the colony effort and funneled them to projects on betazed itself."

"OK... but what does these big wigs eat and drink? I can't get them loose and happy without the proper food and drink," Zara reminded the folks on the bridge. "Unless someone else here cares to try this diplomacy thing instead."

Lasky raised an eyebrow. "I doubt a diplomatic function with food and booze will work now." he said to Zara. "Rykar... any reactions thus far?" he inquired.

Rykar shook her head," No the report is only a few minutes old now, so no reactions from anybody official yet."

"Okay.." Lasky responded. "Do you got any more details on the report?" Vrenn inquired a moment later. "I will need to go and look into this.."

Rykar shook her head," No no further details, but I am sure that the leaders of the colony know by now so be aware of that."

"Lovely..." Lasky responded. "Would you mind calling colony operations and getting us clearance to enter orbit.. please and thanks." he paused. "shall we go down and start this dance?"

Teval sighed, and commented," And we have to deal with another planet with some very angry colonists, hopefully this doesn't go the way the last mission did."

"Lovely." Lasky responded evenly. "Like the angry band of bees.. Lets get this shit started... so I can come back and take a long shower and wash the stink of failure off my skin.... and from my memory."

"Dress whites for those that wear clothes," Zara told the men. "We're to look our best."

"Yep... I know the protocol." Lasky responded quietly as he rose to his feet. "Who's going down?"

"...Am I allowed? Or do I get to babysit the ship?" Zara asked hopefully.'

Teval gave Zara a look, "You are the spokesperson for all these colony support missions, so you are pretty much required to go. The ship will be fine with Rykar."

"All right.... Do I have a speech writer? Or should I hire one for my staff to do that?" Zara asked next as she followed the other two.

Lasky paused. "Hiring one might be a good thing... you could ask Luhanna for assistance.. lord knows she sits on her ass and doesn't do anything.."

"All right... Tell her to get me a speech in an hour then," Zara said with a more relaxed posture.

Lasky tapped the display next to him a few times as he watched the display change, then he typed out a quick message and then sent it off.
The response came back. "One speech... seeya in an hour. Luhanna."

"And assemble a team of engineers to help with the infrastructure issues," Zara told to anyone. "I don't care what ship they're pulled from. Just good engineers that wont be cheap."

Moni Nasao at tactical, nodded her furry head. "Understood.. We're on it." she mewled back at Zara.

Lasky meanwhile was on his way out. "I need to change.... dammed dress whites." he growled as he walked out of the bridge.

"I hate them too Dear," Zara groaned as she walked out of the bridge.

Teval just shrugged," Its times like this I am glad I am furry."

Aerin looked over at Teval, "yeah it saves us a lot of trouble doesn't it."

Varkon walked over to Teval, saying," Well I'm with you guys."

The com system beeped. "Lasky to Bridge... someone get Ra'Vak out of the engine room and make him useful, I'm sure he'd appreciate it."

"Meet you on the transporter pad," Zara winked to Teval as she commanded the turbolift. "Admiral's quarters."

Teval dodn't comment on the matter, instead he and Varkon went over to the transporter room and waited for Lasky and Zara to get changed. The engineer's whom came over though wasn't Ra'Vak. Hakaya was the one leading the party. With her Was Elivar, Azivu, Uldyssian, Kashi and Kiya. Teval looked over at Hakaya," Ra'vak didn't want to come."

Hakaya shook her head," Not really."

Davis looked around. "The Messiah has come my children... Let us go forth and spread the word."

"Behave yourself, Mister Davis," Zara warned. "We're dealing with people who can execute you for grievous offenses, if you... educate the wrong person."

"Ahem." Davis responded quietly. "I am an Engineer, not a religious figure... I have never forgotten my duty or my responsibilities." he responded quietly. "Commodore Tane, if you have so little faith in me then I will request reassignment elsewhere.."

Lasky interrupted. "Okay, this is getting out of hand." he said quietly. "Master Chief, stand down and we do have faith in you." he explained. "We seldom ever see you outside of Engineering and the black and red leather trench-coat."

"I do that in Engineering only. As a means of helping my fellow crew-mates release stress." Davis explained. "I do not think of myself as a god.... I have never liked organized religion. What I do..... Is for my fellow crew-mates only."

"Alright... Do you know your assignment?" Lasky inquired.

"Assist the locals with infrastructure issues and concerns." Davis responded. "Shouldn't be too hard."

"All righty then," Zara nodded in acknowledgement. "Just so we're all on the same page. Though only the contact team should be in the whites. Engineers can go directly to their assigned areas."

Teval looked around and noticed Vrenn wasn't present, "We aren't bringing Vrenn?"

Lasky paused. "Oh... right." he paused as he tapped his combadge. "Lasky to Vrenn, report to transporter room two for away team duty." he paused. "Feel free not to change into your dress uniform."

"On my way Commander."

"Remind me to kill the one that designed the dress and cover," Zara spoke darkly to Lasky.

"It is so noted." Lasky responded in a dry tone to Zara. "I suspect that all Yamaguchi's will want to help you."

"Tally ho then," Zara signed in resignation.

Teval didn't say a word on the matter while Hakaya commented dryly, "Well blame starfleet culture for having an obsession for fancy clothes."

"Well what can I say." Lasky responded. "Ask Elizabeth to wear her dress uniform in a hurry, she might .... hurt you."

"I will laugh at her chasing after you, Dear." Zara smiled evilly to Lasky.

"Are you kidding... That woman is downright scary when she's angry."
Lasky responded in a dry tone.
