Mission: Mission 34: Between Two Fires
Location: Various Locations - USS Dreamcrusher
Timeline: 1330Hrs - June 21st, 2391

Commander Celeste Yamaguchi was settling in to do some paperwork when the com system beeped at her before Commander Daniel 'Karass' McKnight's voice came over the com. "Bridge to Sickbay. Doctor Yamaguchi, you have an incoming communication from Starfleet Intelligence, marked as secured and personnel."

Yamaguchi raised an eyebrow as she held her silence a moment while thinking of what she knew about Karass's history, she recalled meeting him two months ago and he was in a very dark place but over the last while, he had seemed to be mellowing out somewhat, mostly thanks to Zuko telling him how it was going to be and then sticking to it.

"Thank you Karass. Go on and route it down here.... Let me see what these egotistical fuck-tards want now.?"

"Well... you'll find out in a moment,." Karass responded as Yamaguchi tapped the wall monitor before her as she had left her chair a moment earlier and she came around her desk to make her way to her destination.

On the screen was an older human-looking officer who'm she didn't know. "Commander Yamaguchi, I assume?." he paused a moment. "I am Commander Jango'tat Nesbis. I require your assistance on a rather sensitive medical matter.... My species is facing extinction and I need to find a cure... so I'm asking a few select people to help me with this matter."

Celeste Yamaguchi narrowed her eyes as she regarded him. "So... let me get this right.... you want me to put aside all of my other work and start working on a medical issue that I know nothing about... I'm a generalist, not a specialist or a geneticist. I have a couple of staff but-"

"I am sending you all of my information on a sub-channel." Nesbis responded while his eyes never left her face, she could tell instantly that this was a man one didn't trifle with lightly, she tapped the display before her, nodding her head. "I have the details... I'll go over them and see what is to be done"

"Please keep this to yourself.. The fewer people involved the better, or else-"

Yamaguchi narrowed her eyes. "I won't do that, I won't risk this ship, her crew or her mission because you can't wait awhile so save your threats... If... I decide to help then I will advise you, not the other way around... and I won't be told how to do my job either." Yamaguchi kept her voice firm but she didn't growl, snarl or otherwise get angry.

Nesbis raised an eyebrow. "Very well Doctor, I will leave you to it then. Thank you for your time."

Yamaguchi nodded her head. "Very well." and with that she tapped the display before her, terminating the call before she brought up the documents, her eyes devouring the information contained within. Suddenly it hit her. "Torilla... Nesbis is related to you...Isn't he?" Celeste whispered softly.

Of course, the bulkhead didn't answer and nor did it care as Celeste downloaded the information to one PADD, which she carried with her over to the replicator. "Oh Torilla, why didn't you come to me about this..?" as she thought about her cousins wife. "Jake...You had to have known about this and yet you did nothing.

What Celeste didn't know was that Jake had indeed looked into it but Torilla had asked him not to as she didn't want to waste Federation resources on a world that didn't deserve it, at the time she had been close to going insane because of what her government had done to her but she had since calmed down.

Celeste looked at the replicator. "One cup of coffee and a glass of water." the machine replicated both drinks appropriately as Yamaguchi plucked both of them before moving back to her desk before settling in to read her information, before she sighed softly. "Sorry Pava, Pasha, you guys are gonna be having dinner without me tonight." as she quickly left her two Andorian teenagers a note which would display on the PADD she had left on the kitchen table specifically for this objective.

Celeste turned her thoughts to Brianna Hobbs before she left her a copy of the same note, a soft sigh escaping her lips before she went back to her PADD before she started reading.

Before she knew it about twenty minutes had gone by, she set the PADD down as she sat forward, tapping her combadge affixed to the front of her uniform as she did so. "Bridge, this is sickbay. Could you redial the last guy who called me and get him for me on subspace.?"

Karass blinked his eyes as various thoughts went through his mind. "Certainly doctor, you seem to be a wanted woman... I hope you're not in trouble.?"

"No... but I have family who are in trouble... I need to do something about it."

"Fair enough.... patching you through." Karass responded.

Yamaguchi nodded her head in silence as she also made a mental note to call her elder sister on the USS Stalingrad, she suddenly found she needed some advice and she needed to hear Marie's voice when Nesbis's face appeared on the display before her. "Yes Doctor?" Nesbis inquired

"I'll do it." Yamaguchi responded. "I'll start looking into it immediately."

"I understand. Thank you for this Doctor..."

"So... no conditions, no threats or anything else?"

"No... I find they are messy and imprecise... I prefer to let people do their own thing and keep me informed if and when they need information or updates on what I'm requesting of them... Its easier that way."

"I see." Celeste responded in a cool tone. "Very well... then I need to get to it.... I got a ton of work to do and not a lot of time to get it done."

"Very well Doctor, then I will detain you no longer. Ish'nu'alah Doctor." and with that he terminated the transmission on his end.

"Ish'nu'alah." Celeste repeated. "Means Good fortune in Halanan. Thank you Torilla for teaching me the basics." and with that she tapped her combadge. "Attention all on duty medical staff, report to the main sickbay for assignments." as she walked out of her office.
