All the Bad News all at Once

Mission: Mission 33: Losing the Peace
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 1330Hrs - May 3rd, 2391

The fighters were coming in as Rachael guided her borrowed fighter into Roanoke's hanger bay for a smooth and effortless landing, a sigh escaped her lips as she landed in the designated spot as the deck crew helped her out of her fighter. "How many did ya get?" one of them asked.

"Three.." Rachael responded with a smile.

"Nice!" the deck crew responded as Rachael hopped down to the deck, a grunt escaping her lips as she pulled off her helmet and shook her hair free.

She turned and went back to the Squadron ready room as her Wingmate came over to her, "You flew well Firebird.."

"Thank you Sundown." she responded as she spotted either Teval or Hakaya coming over to her. "I'll catch up.."

"Sure... " and with that Sundown walked off, leaving Rachael alone to face the Kurokuri. Once they got within talking distance. "Whats up?" she inquired.

Teval was not in a good mood, he didn't beat around the bush. Saying in a low voice so the rest of the hangar couldn't hear, "Rachael, what the fuck, why where you flying a combat mission, You know, your not a legal combatant right."

For Rachael, this was the equivalent of dousing her in a bucket of water. "The call to scramble came in... I went for the first available bird... several pilots are down for various causes.. and-"

"Whats this all about?" Camshaft inquired. "Whats going on here?" Camshaft looked between Rachael and the smaller being.

Teval gave camshaft a look and then explained carefully, " Rachael is not in starfleet, she has not been to basic training, nor official flight school, she is not supposed to be flying any combat missions because she is not a legal combatant. Because she just did that, if someone higher in starfleet finds out, she can get thrown in jail for hijacking a fighter, and get me, Zara, Torilla and Phoenix all fired and kicked out of starfleet."

"Lovely." Camshaft growled before he looked away, steam coming out of his ears.

Rachael now feeling heartbroken. "Fine... Goodbye." with that she turned and walked off, in silence.

Camshaft watched her leave in silence, he knew there was no point in trying to stop her as a sigh escaped his lips. "I have to handle a debrief... good day." and with that he turned and walked away, now truly enraged.

Teval looked at Hakaya, and neither of them said anything as Teval hit his combadge, saying," Teval to Torilla, can you come to my office in the hangar pod."

The response was prompt. "I'm on my way." and a few minutes later Torilla arrived at the destination. "What happened?" she inquired. "I assume that my daughter's distress is part of it?"

"you can say that," Teval responded, while Hakaya remained silent. "Rachael went flying into combat with 2nd squadron, and the problem with that, Is rachael is not in starfleet. She is not a legal combatant."

"Oh fuck..." Torilla sighed. "She was overjoyed that she got to put her training to use... Elizabeth even wished her well..." That explains much.." a sigh escaped her. "What about her kills.?"

Teval sighed," If that gets out, then You, me and Phoenix can all get kicked out of starfleet, and quite possibly Zara too. We will have to award those kills to someone else."

"I'll talk to Rachael about it... after she calms down.." she paused. "I'll get her to do that herself in the morning.. to a pilot of her choice... I have a feeling it'll be Froststorm but I leave the choice to her."

Teval shook his head, "No, it may be safer to simply distribute the kills around to several people, or count them for the squadron but not to individuals. Adding them all to one person may look suspicious."

"Like I said.. I'll talk to her." Yamaguchi responded. "Anything else go wrong down here?"

"Aside from a couple pilots crashing when they landed, and the one guy whom shot Dreamcrusher and got shot down, as a result, nothing too serious yet.

"Yes... that was Kameron..." Yamaguchi responded. "I read Elizabeth's report on the incident, asides from the fact that he scared her half to death with that.." she paused. "We'll need to schedule some exercises with Roanoke's fighters working with other ships in the battlegroup."

Teval nodded, "Yeah, I noticed. Its bad when a Flight Leader makes a mistake like that."

Meanwhile, Elizabeth was yelling at Kameron. "You scared me half to fucking death, you asshole..." she snarled, her voice carried across a significant portion of the flight deck, so many pilots around heard this.

Fives came over. "Hey guys..." he greeted them. "Whats going on with Rachael?... Camshaft is pissed... I've seen the man so angry.." he paused. "and whats going on with Kameron... why is his wife yelling at him?" he indicated the two of them nearby.

Teval decided to fill in the details of Kameron first," Well, in the battle, Kameron didn't properly check his target, or rather what was behind it. He fired at one of the enemy scorpions and missed, but he didn't realize the dreamcrusher was behind his target and as a result he hit dreamcrusher. Dreamcrusher's point defense turrets locked onto him and shot him down. He is alive thanks to the emergency site to site transporter in his flight suit. His fighter, well not so much. Dreamcrusher turned it into swiss cheese."

Fives sighed. "You fucking moron.." He sighed as he kept his voice level while he looked in Foehammers general direction. "I'm not going to intervene... I'm going to let Twinkletoes tear him a new one." he sighed. "It'll be good for him... Now.. Whats going on with Firebird..?"

Teval gave Fives a look," Well, Rachael was out there in combat with the rest of the wing. The problem is, she is not in starfleet, she has not been to basic training, she is not qualified to fly combat missions. As a result she is not a legal combatant, and if starfleet finds out, well, we can all get kicked out for that. And if some Jag officer wanted to argue with it, they could decide to charge rachael with stealing starfleet property and throw her in jail."

Fives blinked as he felt surprise, then disbelief and then anger, all in quick succession, now he understood why Camshaft had melted down so completely. "You...." he stopped as he started then stopped. "I need to go back to work... You're throwing Bureaucratic bullshit at me and you already told her didn't you... Holy fucking shit... I have to go... I got work... I can't listen to this insane shit." and with that, he stomped off, now truly enraged. His self-control melting down.

Torilla Yamaguchi meanwhile had not moved an inch as she looked unsurprised, but she had not been expecting Fives to come apart like that. "I'd best go home... "

Teval nodded, and didn't say anything as he walked back over to the tower.

Yamaguchi made a decision. "Fives!" she screamed. "Get your ass over here!" as she stalked across the flight deck towards the CAG's office.

Wukari meanwhile, whom has just parked her fighter and began rounding up her pilots for debrief, looked over at Torilla wondering what the hell was going on.

Fives turned and stomped back over to Torilla, he looked well and truly enraged. "What the fuck do you want!" he snarled at her.

Yamaguchi growled as she almost collided with Fives. "Lets go... your place.. now.... I'm going to help you with your issues... stop gawking and move it soldier!"

Elizabeth meanwhile had stopped yelling at her husband as the two of them came over to see what exactly had enraged her mother. "Wow... I've never seen her so pissed... what did he say to her... I wonder.."

Kameron regarded the woman he had come to accept as his mother and the man he had come to call 'brother' seem to get into an argument as he slid one hand back to grasp his sidearm he had yet to turn in. "Just in case.."

Torilla turned as she grasped Five's flight jacket with her fist. "Come on junior..." she growled. "start walking.." and with that he indeed started walking behind her.

Elizabeth and Kameron shared a look. "What the fuck just happened?" Kameron asked his wife who shrugged. "Mom... leading Fives off... I hope its not something stupid."

Wukari meanwhile went up to the tower where Teval, Zarloos, and Hakaya where up in the tower. She asked curiously," Whats going on now."

Nether Teval nor Hakaya seemed to be too inclined to answer.

Zarloos smiled as he went over to Wukari. "Come on into the back and I'll explain." as he went over to the bar and poured two drinks. "Its about Firebird..." he then let out a loud sigh which indicated he was upset and angry while he handed her a drink. "The scramble call came in.. Firebird was decked out in full flight gear for a training mission but she went over to one of the unused Starfighters and took part in the mission.... to make matters worse, she went and nabbed three kills..." he regarded the lovely fox girl. "She can't fly... she's a noncombatant... Teval and Hakaya are going to make the logs disappear and everyone involved is losing their shit over what happened... Commander Yamaguchi was the level headed one until Fives pissed her off about it.."

Wukari simply facepalmed, then after a moment a though came to her, " Wait, there are pilots that heavily resent rachael, If they figure it out, there is a chance they may squeal."

Zarloos nodded. "I know..." he inquired. "We don't want to bring attention to the issue and we don't want issues arising from it." he regarded her. "I don't know how this is going to work though.."
