Mission:
Mission 32: Tales of Tarod
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 0800Hrs - April 11th, 2391
What could possibly go wrong? Zara wondered that a lot, for she had a diverse group of people in her senior staff. The most colorful was a former Federation terrorist who had racist, genocidal issues with the acting ops chief... Kurzkai.
She was a Cardassian that a lot of the crew avoided, and one her CAG nearly killed. And they were going to be in the same room again, very quickly.
All the more reason to have a cooler of bottled beers and sodas. Get everyone relaxed. Klingon cigars might also be great, except Zara remembered there was a pregnant Klingon attending the meeting.
I used to not give a shit about that sort of thing, Zara thought to herself as she plopped into the end chair, facing the door and opened up a bottle of Andorian import for herself.
Teval and Ra'Vak where the first ones to walk in. Teval wasted no time in sitting in one of the chairs, while Ra'Vak had a big grin on his face, and was wearing white makeup, with his hair dyed green, and red lipstick, and he was wearing a purple suit, which succeeded in making him look like the Romulan version of the joker, Teval turned around, seeing Ra'Vak, commenting, "You really like making yourself known don't you."
Ra'Vak just grinned as he took a seat in his usual chair.
The door opened as John Sheridan walked in. "What the fuck is this?" he inquired as he regarded the Romulan Chief Engineer. "I think you sir, have lost your mind..." before he sat down in a chair nearby, following him in was Commander Yamaguchi, wearing a skirt and heels rather then pants and boots.
"Well now." Yamaguchi selected a seat as she sat back. "You did that on purpose... didn't you?, my little demon..." Torilla inquired as she shrugged off her uniform top, revealing her tank top as she began to stretch. "Having infants can be exhausting..."
Sheridan sighed. "Okay...Someone introduced Mr Insanity over there to Coffee..." he commented. "Was it Rigellian Beans or Berengarian Java?"
Teval put his head to his hands, saying, "I think it was Uldyssian Davis who did it."
Ra'Vak just grinned, saying, "Oh, why so serious guys."
"You.... are insane.." Yamaguchi responded dryly. "Just thought I should share that.."
Daisy entered wearing casual dress. She smiled as she grabbed herself a soda.
Tamtha entered and tried to keep a low profile. She opened a beer and kept a distance from other officers.
Yamaguchi looked around the room. "Just missing a few." she commented. "No Siaxx or Phoenix?"
The counselor entered the room, nodding to her colleagues. She took a seat with her PADD in front of her.
It was Doctor Furban that entered next. She very carefully sat down beside of Torilla, without looking at anyone and without touching anyone.
Phoenix arrived hand-in-hand with Siaxx a few minutes after most of the others. And when Phoenix saw the Cardassian, it took everything in her soul not to lash out at it.
Beer was what she picked up as her choice. And sat down closer to Zara than Tamtha.
Zuko came in shortly after and stood near the back of the room.
The door opened and in walked Luhanna Wintersnow, the tall alien woman smiled as she looked around at the various people before taking her seat.
Once everyone was seated, Zara whistled loudly. And it must of been a signal because Aryssa Sullivan came out of the hallway with the transparent tactical board Zara had been working a month and a half on.
"No longer will this ship be doing menial tasks," Zara declared as she stood up and pulled a digipen from her tactical vest and walked up to the board. "Colonies bordering the Romulan and Cardassian lines have always been a danger zone. Unless it houses a vital piece of intelligence gathering equipment, the Federation Council and Starfleet have intentionally ignored a great many of the colony aid requests."
Zara pointed to her beer on the table, for which Aryssa rolled her eyes and fetched for her slave driver.
"For this mission, we'll be going very close to the RNZ," Zara began. "Many of the colonies that need help, have both military and humanitarian needs. But I don't want to fight one battle, only to have to come back to their colony two weeks later. So that means a great deal of what we're doing, is building up colony defenses."
Zara took a large gulp of her beer to quench her thirst before she asked, "Any questions so far?"
Zuko was the first to ask, "How many of my people are you going to need for this assignment."
Torilla Yamaguchi turned her attention to the alien Captain as she was curious to hear Tane's response.
"As many engineers and tactical officers you can spare," Zara answered honestly. "We want to build a fortified city and train their volunteers to be their actual military. And we need to do that quickly."
"I guess that would include all the marines." Daisy stated. "Our mission on the Roanoke is somewhat ancillary."
"Affirmative. And we'll also will sent down a medical team. See if they need flu vaccines, since we'll be entering a winter season," Zara added to the group.
Siaxx nodded. "I'll see to that.... I just hope this guy doesn't have an overblown ego and thinks he's self important or starts treating him like an asshole... for no good reason.."
Yamaguchi sighed. "Siaxx... you are asking for far too much.. " a sigh escaped the older womans lips. "Ra'Vak. I'm going to send you down leading your own team, see to their needs in regards to construction and power requirements... also see what they have in terms of infrastructure..." she paused. "Take the Sergeant Major with you. The man looks mean and scary, make him useful would ya?"
"So are we all on board then?" Zara asked hopefully, for she had hopped giving her crew a purpose would also give them something to be proud about.
Yamaguchi glanced around before she took a long pull of her drink. "Ah... Lets do this!"
"Meeting adjourned then," Zara spoke with a smile and downed her nice, cold dark import beer.
Yamaguchi didn't move other then to finish her drink. "Mmmm... Booze for staff meetings... It's different."
"I'd participate but..." Daisy gestured to her tummy. "You know."
"I did provide soda for your pregger folks," Zara winked at Daisy.
Yamaguchi regarded Rohr as a smile graced her lips. "It could be worse."
she commented. "Believe me... I'd know."
