Getting the Permanent Crew

Mission: Mission 31: The Ashes of Eden
Location: Various Locations - USS Dreamcrusher
Timeline: 0800Hrs - April 3rd, 2391

Zuko took another look at his padd as he headed over to the Dreamcrusher's main shuttle bay. At last he was finally getting the ships permanent crew, or at least, the permanent department heads anyway. It was about time. His temporary XO had left the ship a few days ago, so he had been forced to work without one. But today's runabout had his new XO, and several others that would be his department heads. entering the shuttlebay, he casually walked over to the runabout that had just set down.

Brianna Hobbs slung her duffel over her shoulder. She stepped of the runabout onto the Dreamcrusher. It was a large ship and she would have to get to know it.

Behind Hobbs was Isabella Rojas. Rojas had seriously looked into a civilian security position on a colony. While tempting, the position was too much like the military so Rojas declined it. Now she was back on a Star Fleet vessel heading out into deep space.

Commander Telios Wintersnow stepped out of the runabout as she smiled, her pack was on her back and a second duffel which she set at her hooves.

Moments later the Runabout hatch opened as a sleepy looking Commander Celeste Yamaguchi walked out of the runabout, followed by two Andorian teenagers who ironically enough were the same height and size as her.

Pava Sh'Yamaguchi smiled. "So... this is the Dreadcrusher?"

"Dreamcrusher." Celeste chuckled softly as she placed her bags at her feet as her adopted son gently placed his hand on Celeste's shoulder. "You okay mom?"

"I'm just tired sweetie.... getting the extra stick time of command was worth it though.."

Zuko looked at the group of new arrivals, and walked over to them, towering over everyone whom was there. "Welcome to the Dreamcrusher, I'm your captain, Captain Zuko Omakan."

Rojas had spent her entire life in Star Fleet and was still a little surprised at her new Captain's appearance and size.

Hobbs covered her surprise with a smile. This assignment was going to be interesting.

Celeste Yamaguchi raised an eyebrow. "Mornin' Captain." she greeted him. "Torilla told me about you... I see she wasn't exaggerating."

Pava likewise looked up. "May I ask... what species are you?"

Meanwhile the smallest person in the crowd, the Bajoran Marine looked somewhat intimidated. "Umm.. Captain."

Zuko just shrugged," Oh, don't worry, I'm an Ankuri, but I'm a nice guy. So who is my new XO."

Telios Wintersnow smiled. "That would be me sir." she responded.

Zuko looked at her curiously ," You look a lot like Luhanna, the science officer from the Roanoke."

"Luhanna?" Telios raised an eyebrow. "Luhanna Wintersnow.... she's here?" The Draenei responded. "I've not seen her in decades... I came here to search for her...and now... she's here?"

Zuko nodded, "She is on the Roanoke, which the dreamcrusher will be tasked with for the next little while."

Wintersnow smiled. "Outstanding." she responded evenly. "Whats the first order of busness?" she inquired.

Zuko answered simply, " Getting the crew and the senior staff in order, a lot of the temporaries have been moving out, so we need to get the newcomers set."

"Sounds good..." she responded. "I'll go settle in then I'll start with that... making up rosters and the like." she responded.

Zuko shook his head, "no, just take all of today to settle in, you will report in for your first shift tomorrow."

Wintersnow nodded. "I need to contact my mother... I've missed her.."

Yamaguchi meanwhile watched as her children picked up her bags, leaving her nothing to carry. "You guys okay with that?"

"Mom... you look ready to pass out... Pava and I can handle these... Once we get our assigned rooms of course." Pasha responded as he smiled.

Tienn meanwhile turned to Selgae, the taller and move massive Caitian standing next to her. "You ready for this?"

"I don't think this ship is ready for me." as she looked down at the smaller Bajoran woman. "Or for you..." the Caitian added.

"You... are a tease.." Tienn responded.

Zuko's eyes fell on a Klingon lieutenant, whom he recognized was being assigned as his chief engineer. Walking over to the klingon, he commented, " So I take it you are my new chief engineer Lieutenant"

"Yes, Captain." Noq't replied. "I transported over from the Roanoke a short time ago. It will be an honor to serve with you and this ship. I am humbled to be your Chief Engineer."

Zuko nodded," Well, as long as you do a good job, its fine. I don't require you to call me sir or captain, my name is Zuko. Also, I did look at your file, and your promotion to lieutenant commander will come in within a few days."

"Thank you Capt.." Noq't caught himself. "Thank you Zuko. I look forward to that." He told the large alien with a smile.

Zuko gave a small smile, " By the way, whats your name Lieutenant."

"Noq't, son of Gedlr is my official name." he replied. "In normal conversation is Noq't."

Zuko nodded, " O.K Noq't, well as i have said to the others, take today to settle in, you report in tomorrow."

"Thank you Zuko but I would really like to get a look at the Dreamcrusher's engines." Noq't responded. "I have not been on a Star Fleet battleship before and Federation engineering intrigues me."

Zuko than noticed a human woman, whom he recognized as his new tactical actions officer. Walking up to her, he commented, " Hello Lieutenant, I'm Captain Zuko Omakan, welcome to the dreamcrusher.

"Hello Captain, I'm Lieutenant Isabella Rojas. I transferred here from the USS Gustav." Rojas replied with a friendly tone.

Zuko nodded, " Well, you can call me Zuko, I don't expect people to be all formal on my ship, so I hope we can work well together here. Anyway, like with the others, take today to settle in, you report in tomorrow.

Rojas smiled "Sounds good to me. After I put my luggage away I'll use my off duty time usefully. Thank you Zuko."

Zuko nodded, then looked for the last person he was looking for. It didn't take him long to find her. A marine first sergeant, whom was about to be a sergeant major was getting assigned as his COB. walking up to First Sergeant Brianna hobbs, he introduced himself. " hello, first Sergeant Hobbs, I'm Captain Zuko Omakan."

"Hello Captain, I'm First Sergeant Brianna Hobbs. I relish the opportunity to work on the Dreamcrusher." Hobbs told Zuko.

Zuko looked at her curiously, " Though I have to say, I've never had a marine serve as my COB before. "

Hobbs laughed a little. "I understand, I must also admit I have never served with a Antergis Ankuri."

Zuko shrugged, "Well, there aren't that many of us in the federation. By the way, you will be getting your sergeant major stripes in a couple days, we are just waiting for final authorization."

"Well put me down as a fan of yours Captain." Hobbs told him. "I will not disappoint you."

"O.k. well, just go ahead and take today off, " Zuko added," You will report in tomorrow, like all the other newcomers."

Wintersnow smiled. "Sounds good sir." she responded. "Alright guys, lets go see the quartermaster and get settled in... and Celeste, you look like you need some rest." she commented. "Anything you wanna add skipper?"

Zuko shook his head," No nothing really, you all are good to go."
