Mission 27: Into the Jungle

Timeline: 0903Hrs - February 21st, 2391 - Time Dilation: 3 Months, Five days
Karryn pointed down at a cave entrance that was behind some brush, saying "in there, that's where we can move into."
Teval turned on the flashlight attached to his rifle and went to the cave entrance. Poking his head in, he could see it was quite deep. He could also hear water running as well. Looking at Siaxx, he said," Well, what do you think.
"I think it could serve our needs..." Siaxx responded. "We'll need to find out whats in here and how many ways can someone get in and get out." the smaller Bolian responded.
Rachael was now sporting quite a baby bump these days as she looked around. "Cool and dark..." she paused. "we'll need to arrange for lighting."
Hakaya gave the matter a quick thought," Well,we can get some lighting from the runabout, but there are other crashed ships around here, maybe we can get supplies. Power is another thing though, unless we can replicate some solar panels or something like that."
Rachael nodded. "Yes. they could work.... we can locate the wreaks and see what they have... but since we're stuck to foot power... it'll take awhile to do."
Teval meanwhile wandered into the cave, looking around. It got dark quickly, but as he looked around, he could tell it was very large. Looking up at the ceiling he noticed that in some area's it was nearly 10 meters high, and as he moved further in, about a hundred meters from the cave entrance, he came across flowing water.
"Looks like there is an underground river in here."
Siaxx smiled. "Excellent, our water issue is resolved." she paused. "We will need somewhere to dump our liquid and solid waste however." she paused. "We can simply dig a hole and build an outhouse."
Hakaya looked around, then said," Well, We will figure that out in time."
Siaxx nodded. "I'll go get a shovel then.." she responded evenly. "I want a nice sized hole for this."
Teval walked over to the water, and promptly jumped in. Hakaya walked over to the edge, saying," well how is it."
Teval swam over to the edge, and started to climb out. Hakaya put her hand down to help her brother out, but instead, he pulled, and pulled her in the water as well, prompting a quick yelp out of Hakaya.
Rachael chuckled softly as she watched in silence, a smile on her face. She needed a good laugh.
Hakaya poked her head back above the water. After giving Teval an angry glare, she noticed that the water was quite deep, but not as cold as she expected. Teval commented," Well, the water is quite fresh, must come straight out of an Aquifer, its also not too cold."
Rachael commented. "So.. we need a bathing area... a drinking area and a bathroom area then..." the teen explained. "none of them can be connected..."
Teval climbed out of the water, and looked around, saying," No, connected is fine, as long as the drinking area is upstream of bathing, bathroom will have to be separate, but the water flow is strong here, so we are good for the first two right in here."
"Alright..." Rachael commented. "makes sense..." she added.
Hakaya climbed out of the water herself, saying," Well, looks like a good place to stay, I vote we stay here, rather than that damn runabout."
Rachael paused. "Stay here.. the place is well sheltered.. but we have no front door and no idea of where those other caves go."
Teval looked around more, but found out, that the only way to go further into the cave system was to go to the other side of the river. So he jumped in and swam across. After getting out on the other side, he explored further only to find that the Cave stopped a further hundred meters down. Coming back he said," No, the cave doesn't go anywhere else, goes about a hundred meters back, and that's about it. The small branching off caves basically just stop after about 15 to 20 meters and don't lead anywhere."
"Lovely... so we can move in and start calling this place home then.." Rachael responded evenly. "sounds almost too good to be true..."
