Mission: Mission 101: The Restless Shades of the Past
Location: Various Locations - USS Pegasus, In the Utgarde System
Timeline: 1030Hrs - July 6th, 2393

Captain Antilles turned her head as she tapped her combadge. "Bridge to engineering.?" she inquired. This opened a comline straight to Engineering.

"Go ahead, oh benevolent master of the space lanes." Pyre Sh'shritress commented over the com system.

"Do we have any engines at all?" Coral Antilles asked softly as she sat down in the command chair.

"Thrusters and limited impulse. I might be able to get you limited warp drive but it'll top out at about warp four, time is the issue as I'll need to get out there and take a look at the damage to the remaining nacelle." she paused. "and I will have to shunt the warp power through the Thinin's engines which are still operational." the Andorian explained.

Captain Antilles nodded her head. "Okay, go take care of it but try to shave as much time off of it as you can, I don't need to explain why Pyre."

"Aye skipper. We're on it. Sh'shritress out." as Captain Antilles settled back in her chair, she let out an uneasy sigh as she did so.

Sherman sighed softly. "I feel like a Gazelle, caught out in the open with a pride of African lions chasing me down," he said it quietly but there was no mistaking the air of tension and uneasiness on the bridge.

"Let's hope we have better luck than that," Antilles answered softly. "Otherwise, this is going to end really badly for us all Will."

"Yeah, tell me about it," Sherman answered quietly. "Helm, get us underway into the system, best speed."

Lieutenant JG Lilar Sal nodded her head. "Aye Captain." she paused. "Coming around... heading two two one mark sixteen," she explained. "One-quarter impulse."

The stars wheeled around on the viewscreen as the display remained fixed relative to the ships heading.

Lt Commander Eegyu Rhelag narrowed his eyes as he regarded his display. "Skipper... I'm reading a Federation starbase in the system. I'm also reading a massive Federation presence here too."

"What?" Coral responded in a quiet tone of voice. "Well... I guess they got the starbase finished."

Williams raised an eyebrow. "Skipper. We're being hailed."

"What's the source of the hail?" came the half-expected response from Commander Sherman.

"Its a Federation starship... That's more than eleven times more massive then we are." came the unexpected response from Cefa Alka.

"On screen." Coral Antilles slowly rose to her feet and she began moving towards the viewscreen. When the viewscreen flickered as it activated. The face of an older male officer appeared, he had a gentle smile on his face. "I'm Commander Ethan Duval of the USS Gaarni, you look like you need some help."

"Thank you, Captain. I'm Captain Coral Antilles of the USS Pegasus. It's good to be seen."

"Captain Antilles... This is an unexpected pleasure... Welcome home." Duval commented with a gentle smile on his lips before he turned to one of his officers on his own bridge. "We'll take you in tow to the Starbase." as there was a soft shaking sensation that rippled through the hull of the Pegasus.

Coral Antilles smiled. "So... this area is secure.?"

"It is Captain. We'll take you to the starbase and we'll alert them that you are coming." Duval commented with a gentle smile. "Also send us some of your wounded, we can help there," he added.

Coral tapped her combadge. "Bridge to sickbay. Send your wounded over to the Gaarni."

"I've been talking to their medics, and we're already on it." Hammond's voice answered over the com system.

Duval nodded. "We'll see to it you get to Vanguard."

"Captain." Coral Antilles sighed softly as she regarded him with a gentle smile. "My crew and I, we owe you one."

"Pass it forward Coral. That's all we can ask." Duval answered. "I need to coordinate with my people. Duval out." and with that, the screen went back to the starfield with the USS Gaarni taking the Pegasus under the tow from her primary tractor beam."

Sherman raised an eyebrow. "How large is that ship?" he commented softly.

"In terms of volume. She's about thirty-six million metric tons." came the jaw-dropping statement. Eegyu Rhelag explained as he smiled. "She's quite the monster, her weapons loadout... Now, that's unusual, lots of missile launchers," he added.

Various people around the bridge were looking at him, many with looks of shock and surprise on their faces.

"How so.?" Sherman inquired.

"The USS Gaarni can take on any ten Sovereign-class ships and win without breaking a sweat." Risiass Ch'kirhath explained evenly.

"Well, that's comforting," Sherman answered quietly. "How long until we arrive at this starbase?" he inquired of the conn officer.

Lilar Sal turned back to her panel, the female Bolian tapped her display a few times. "We'll arrive in thirty minutes.." as Grinn Xawa added with a nod. "The Gaarni is hailing the base, they are doing it on an open channel, letting the base know we've returned."

Captain Antilles smiled. "Well.. guys, let's see what sort of galaxy we've come home to." she then smiled.
