Mission: Mission 101: The Restless Shades of the Past
Location: Various Locations - USS Pegasus, In the Utgarde System
Timeline: 1130Hrs - April 19th, 2387 - 1020Hrs - July 6th, 2393

The USS Pegasus, NCC-81837 was reported as being lost while on patrol near the Utgarde System in early 2387, as the system was located near the Venturi Pirates main base, they were suspected as was the Tholians of having caused the ship's disappearance, but what nobody knew was the formation and the subsequent collapse of the Kerr Loop that had caused the actual disappearance of the ship in question.

The Investigation by Starfleet consisted of the ships from the Sixteenth fleet, with the USS Whitehawk, Nebula Class, the USS Xerxes, Sabre class and the USS Mohawk, Excelsior Class all spending ten days in the Utgarde System itself, turning up enough debris and wreckage for account for the nearly complete and total destruction of the Venturi Pirate band but there were almost no signs of the USS Pegasus herself.

What they didn't know and could not know was that the USS Pegasus herself had not been relocated in distance but that she had been relocated in time, in this case, to the future and the ship along with her crew and passengers had been moved from April 19th, 2387 to July 6th, 2393. A time gap of roughly five years and ten months as the humans reckon time.

The trip through the Kerr Loop was a strange one which caught bright light to appear even where there were no light sources as the pirates attempted to take the Pegasus in battle. Lt Colonel Antilles and his Marines were just as determined to prevent this outcome.

Lee Antilles smiled as he nodded to a fellow marine who popped the pin off of a grenade before he tossed it down the hallway, into a pack of pirates, the grenade went off with a loud bang, killing many of the gathered pirates outright. Before he and his Marines moved around the corner, shooting as they went.

The outcome, however, was never in doubt however and over the next forty-five minutes, the Marines with Lee Antilles leading them moved across the ship, securing it section by section, killing any pirates that came across their path, quickly liberating sections of the ship that had fallen to pirate control.

Antilles dove for the deck as several plasma rounds went past him, they spent their force in a bulkhead as Lee Antilles returned fire, killing the pirate with one blast to his head. As the man fell dead, another marine shot the pirate's compatriot who was fleeing.

Meanwhile in, elsewhere on the USS Pegasus, things were not so pretty as the pirates had done considerable damage. In Engineering, the situation was organized chaos. The Andorian Shen turned. "Get that fire out!" she shouted as several damage control engineers moved in with their gear, one of them proceeded to do as they were asked and he put out a fire that had broken out near the cryogenic support systems.

Sh'shritress regarded the display before her. "Standby.." as Pyre smashed her fist into the 'EJECT WARP CORE.' toggle on the display before her, a force field activated as the warp core was forcefully ejected from the Pegasus, along with all of the antimatter containment pods. The Andorian let out a long sigh as she turned. "Everyone, hold onto something!" she yelled as a wave of pain washed over her, she had cut her hand while ejecting the core.

Meanwhile, the antimatter pods found themselves being ensnared in the dying warp cores explosion when they found themselves cooking off as well in massive explosions all of their own. The mighty Sovereign class ship had been saved from destruction but the Pegasus was now totally helpless and crippled. She was now vulnerable from even the normal hazards of space.

"We're alive.!" Sh'shritress commented softly as the svelte Andoran slowly and gingerly picked herself up from the deck, she sighed softly as she gently rubbed her left shoulder with her right hand. "Sound off, is everyone alright?" she called to everyone else in the darkened cavern that was once Main Engineering.

The computer responded first with. "Emergency power engaged." as some of the lights came back online.

Engineering was more or less a ruin of what it once was, there was also a cavernous hole where the warp core once stood. She let out a soft sigh. "Status of the ships com system?"

"It's been destroyed Chief." came the half-expected response as several of her engineers staggered back to their feet, before they began assisting others with their issues.

"Dammit. Alright, take a team down to the hangar bay and cannibalize the Thinin. Do what you must but I need a working com system ASAP. Take whatever and whoever you need. Go."

"Aye Chief, right away." and with that, the Caitian officer pointed to another engineer. "James, come on."

"Right behind ya." the man grabbed his kit and the two departed Engineering quickly. "Alright.." she tapped her combadge. "Sh'shritress to all engineers not doing anything, around the island now." the Andorian Shen commented with a sigh. She had no shipwide com system but she had the combadge network.

Sh'shritress waited as the two dozen or so engineers approached her. "Alright. I want three groups. Group one will start on deck one and work their way down, I want a full and complete damage report when the skipper asks me. Group two, head down to the hanger and see if you can get any of the shuttles into something flyable. However you do it?, I don't care what regs it violates because I guarantee I'll learn to love it and group three. You guys will don armor and go outside, find the hull breaches and then seal them from the outside. Questions?" the Shen inquired.

The people gathered said nothing as she dismissed them. Sh'shritress looked up. "Thank you," she said to the ship itself.

Meanwhile, in sickbay, the situation was going from bad to worse and anyone who had any sort of medical qualification was assisting with the steady stream of walking wounded that they were getting, the issue was that their medical supplies were being worn down from sheer usage.

Lt Commander Courtney Hammond let out a soft sigh as she finished treating one person with burns, she handed him a new pair of pants. "Here you go, change and put these on," she commented.

The man nodded but rather than go elsewhere, he simply dropped his pants right there before he pulled on the new ones as Hammond shook her head. "Seriously?"

"Doc, you've been treating me for the last while and we don't exactly have space for me to go and change, besides, what does it matter?" he inquired of her.

"Fine," Hammond answered as the door opened and in walked Colonel Antilles, supporting two wounded Marines. "Hey, Doc. I got two more for you. Where do you want them?" he inquired.

"Right them over here. Are the pirates dealt with?" the Doctor asked of the Marine before her.

"Yes, we're sweeping the ship now to make sure none got away," Antilles responded he huffed a sigh. "Bastards."

"Well, since we have no com system could you deliver this to the skipper on the bridge. Take a large kit with you and treat anyone who needs help up there and I'm sure Coral will be relieved to see you." Hammond explained as she handed him a large pack.

"I'll head there right away. Thanks, Courtney." Antilles received the PADD and the pack from the tall doctor and he departed sickbay, while he hoisted his pack over his back before he made his way to the nearest crawl space as the turbolift network was down on this ship.

Lee secured the PADD in his pack before he started the long climb up towards the bridge, he made his way through crawl space and up ladders before finding out that the most direct route was blocked. Lee Antilles joined several engineers in attempting to clear it. "Sir. its too much, it won't budge." one of the engineers protested.

In response, Antilles drew his tricorder before he began a series of scans. "Alright lads, challenge accepted," Lee Antilles answered with a smile on his lips. "You guys head on outta here and report that this blockage is cleared."

"But how... Wait, you gonna use explosives."

"Yup," Antilles answered, bluntly. "Tell your guys to clear out.." he added.

"This close to the outer hull. You'll kill us all." the engineer responded, a trifle hotly.

The Colonel drew his sidearm. "I assure you, nothing will go wrong," he answered. "Now if you please?" he added the last as a formality.

The Engineers cleared out as Lee Antilles blasted the hunk of wreckage with a single blast from his phaser, it disintegrated a moment later and vanished as he vaporized it, however, he drained the phaser power cell which he quickly slipped back onto his belt before he checked with the tricorder. "Problem resolved." before he quickly resumed his march towards his destination.

The hatch opened before him as Lee Antilles emerged onto the ruin of the Pegasus's bridge a few moments later, he pulled the pack off of his back. "Alright, Who needs me?. The Doctor is in," he added.

Coral Antilles turned her head as her husband and father to her children that both had left in the care of her sister, Captain Heather Yamaguchi, approached her. "Captain." he greeted her formally as he produced a PADD. "Courtney sends her regards skipper. I'm here to help the bridge crew with their wounds."

Seated in her command chair was his wife Coral. She nodded. "Anyone who needs the doctor, get yourselves seen to."

Lieutenant JG Lilar Sal turned her head. "Skipper. I have engines now, I only have impulse but I can get us underway now," she reported.

"Grand" Coral answered as the Operations chief was getting her injuries seen to by her husband. "Yeah Lieutenant, you got a headache because you hit your head. You have a mild concussion but I can treat that here." Lee Antilles was explaining to the younger officer before him.

Sherman rose to his feet. "Lee. Here, have a seat."

"Thank you, Commander," Antilles answered with a smile commented as the Operations officer sat down so Lee Antilles could treat her.

"Sir. I have a star fix now, I can tell us where we are." Lt Commander Eegyu Rhelag, the second Bajoran on Coral Antilles senior staff turned his head. "We're still where we should be but.." he paused as he narrowed his eyes. Rhelag turned his head to address Coral Antilles and the rest of the crew directly. "We didn't move through space, we moved through time. We're roughly six years away from where we just were." the man explained. "The port nacelle is nowhere to be seen and it's the same with all the destroyed Venturi ships, it's like nothing ever existed here in this system." he paused. "But then I don't have any sensors at all. We could be a million kilometers from a star and we'd never see it."

"That's impossible." Captain Coral Antilles paused before she huffed a sigh. "Did we just fall through a subspace anomaly.?"

Colonel Lee Antilles regarded his wife while he treated the younger Bajoran female before him for the concussion that she had sustained earlier, he smiled as he operated on her with various medical instruments before he injected her with something. "Okay, you're going to be sensitive to light and heat for the next couple of days but you'll be fine. I recommend you get some rest as soon as it's permitted."

"Thanks, Colonel." Lieutenant Cefa Alka responded in a quiet tone as she rose to her feet and then she ambled on over toward her station sitting down a moment later. "I can confirm that finding Captain," she added a moment after sitting down. "We're five years and ten months away from where we just were. That's according to the Federation time-based beacon located at Starbase Vanguard." the older human female turned to Captain Antilles. "Sorry for the bad news skipper."

"It's fine Master Chief." Captain Antilles nodded. "Whats the present stardate?" she asked the older woman before her.

"According to this, the present date is seven zero five one zero point six five." Master Chief Petty Officer Bernadette Williams reported in a crisp tone. "It's not Stardate six four two nine seven point one anymore." the older woman added.

"So, almost six years then." Coral Antilles responded. "Commander, how bad is-" she was interrupted with the com system beeping at everyone on the bridge. "Engineering to Bridge, hello up there?" came the voice of her Andorian Chief Engineer.

Captain Antilles laughed aloud. "Yes. we're here. How did you engineer this miracle?." the middle-aged human female inquired. "I thought the com system had been destroyed."

"Ahh, yes well skipper, it's good to hear your voice but I had to demolish the Thinin to do it. I apologize." the Andorian briefly explained that she had to more or less rip the USS Thinin apart and she had to tie in the ships com system to become the new comm system for the Pegasus. "So long as Thinin has power, she can serve as your con system."

"Fine work Pyre," Captain Antilles responded. "If we live, I promise I'll court-martial you later."

"It's nice to have something good to look forward to. Anyway, I thought I'd bug you that the com system is now working again. Gotta run." as the comm system beeped at everyone present. Pyre Sh'shritress was known as the ship's morale officer and it was something she took highly seriously.

Lieutenant T'Mala entered the bridge. "Sir, we have four captured pirates as prisoners, they are making a small mess in the brig so we stripped them down to their skin and removed their clothing, so they can't attempt to kill themselves, they more or less ruined the brig with bodily excretions."

"Lock them in and throw away the key, until we get to a starbase that is," Captain Antilles responded with a sigh. "If they want to misbehave then we can ignore them until then." Coral Antilles shook her head. "Even my youngest it better behaved than this." she turned. "Colonel. I assume your marines are making themselves useful?" Coral inquired of her husband.

"I told them to help out wherever needed. My engineers are helping yours and my medics are making themselves useful too. All my guys are where they need to be, except me that is." Lee Antilles explained to his wife.

"Fine by me, take a seat." Captain Antilles responded as she indicated the second officer's chair nearby. Colonel Antilles sat down in silence as the Operations officer turned her head. "Skipper. The distress call you asked for is ready. I am ready to send it.."

"Do so." Captain Antilles sighed. "We're not all that far from the Tholian border and god only knows what's happened with them in the last several years."

Sherman sighed softly. "I'd rather head into the Utgarde system, maybe there is something here we can use for our needs before something else goes wrong," he commented before the Operations officer turned her head. "With the damage to the sensors, we'll not see anything until it's right on top of us."

"Lovely." Colonel Antilles commented softly. "Captain, if you'll excuse me, I'd best go see to my guys and gals. Get then re-geared and reprovisioned to assist security in case we're boarded again." he rose to his feet and was gone when Coral nodded. "Yeah, go," she responded before she turned back to what she had been doing as Lee departed the bridge without another word, his goal now was his own people.
