Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 1800Hrs - January 24th, 2391

Commander Torilla Yamaguchi smiled as she brought the large pan of food over to the table, her eyes wandered to where her youngest was presently mulling over her thoughts. Torilla knew what was going on as she had helped Rachael with the situation at hand, the fact that Paul wasn't willing to man up was disappointing but she wasn't worried about Rachael's little one.

Torilla smiled as she turned her attention back to where it belonged as she placed the large pan down on the table before her as her two dining companions both helped themselves to a slice each. "Mmm.... this is great... what did you say this was called?" Savannah Yamaguchi inquired.

"Its a Trill recipe.." Torilla then sat down at the table as Savannah looked pointedly at Torilla's abdomen. "What happened mom?"

"It's.. complicated... a Breen bioweapon got loose aboard ship.... I very nearly miscarried but... Elizabeth begged our CAG to help..." she paused. "Phoenix had some bad experiences and very nearly refused.. which I can't blame her."

Gabriel nodded his head as he finished his slice. "But they are okay right?"

"The twins are alright... they won't have the same strength as you and your sister because I won't be able to commune with them." Torilla explained. "They will still have their abilities but they will be very weak.." she then smiled. "which I won't mind honestly...."

"Yeah..." Gabriel smiled. "So... hows life aboard this ship... I hear its a flying circus."

"It's... not bad... once you get used to the... ships personality," Yamaguchi explained, the side door opened and in walked a smaller woman, Torilla turned her head as she waved the other woman over.

"You made kimpala," Zara spoke with a huge grin and sat down eagerly to smell the dish. Similar to an Italian pasta dish. Creamy, gooey cheese with a salty red sauce and thinly sliced pasta noodles.

"Yep. Have a seat and dig in... Your welcome to join us." Torilla smiled. "Guys... this is Captain Zara Tane. My friend." she did the introductions. "Zara. this is Gabriel and Savannah."

Savannah stood up as she realized who the woman was, Gabriel, followed suit.

Torilla smiled as she remained sitting. "Guys, you won't need to stand on ceremony here, we're a hard-luck crew... don't believe the horror stories you hear about us.."

But Zara dug in without watching the other two. It wasn't until she was in her third bite that she finally registered they were still standing, and with a muffled, full mouth of food, Zara said, "Pwell.. Sit-lawn."

Savannah who was close to five months along sat down first, closely followed by Gabriel before both of them went back to their food. Torilla raised an eyebrow. "So... Savannah. hows your little one doing?"

"She's doing good... if being a little demanding."

"She?" Torilla asked with a smile on her lips.

"Yes... We wanted to know the gender... Gideon was a surprise, we're going to take care of it this time around.... hows the food Zara?"

"S'good," Zara answered with a mouthful of food. "Thanks."

Torilla looked at Zara. "So... Zara. you asked when you'd meet my son... well here he is." as a smile graced her lips. "Gabriel, do be gentle.... "

Gabriel swallowed his mouthful. "Yes... I heard what Psycho-Woman did to you..."

The dark glint that suddenly appeared in Savannah's eyes indicated that she too had heard the sordid details of this little plot from hell. "She managed to piss off a few people with that..."

"She's..." Zara paused, as if struggling to be polite on a matter she normally would not. "She's got issues, yes. But I'm glad I have my mind back."

Gabriel looked at his mother. "Whats your opinion on it?"

"Elizabeth very nearly got booted out of Starfleet." she commented before turning to Zara. "I added a little extra spices and herbs to dinner... does it help any?"

"Not entirely traditional, but it's good. Yes." Zara smiled. "I burn things when I try to cook, sadly."

"At some point... We should teach you how to cook.." Torilla responded. "Its a helpful skill to have..."

"I don't have a lot of free time, sadly," Zara attempted vainly to evade.

"Thats okay." Savannah commented with a smile. "I'm still learning myself... Sometimes its nice to be able to bake a sponge cake or a Lasagna and enjoy the fruits of your labors."

Suddenly there was a loud crashing sound as one nameless crewman pointed at Gabriel. "We'll settle this now.... stand and face me Tereil."

Torilla raised an eyebrow. "I think he's addressing you," she said to her son. Gabriel turned his head. "You addressing me?"

In response, the man came over as he growled. "You owe me fifty credits."

"Really now?" Gabriel answered. The tone indicated he was suprised more then disbelieving.

Torilla narrowed her eyes. "Beat it Ensign, we're at dinner."

"You owe me fifty credits.." he growled to Gabriel

"No... I don't because I've never met you before.... so go back to your drink or I'll mush you into the ground.."

Savannah smiled, clearly she wanted to see how far the Ensign would go.

In that moment, a knife hit the deck in front of the man. A millimeter closer and Zara's toss would have grazed the man's toe. But instead, the boot was just firmly planted.

"Try and remove the knife and I'll toss another one where you really don't want to be hit," Zara warned the lad. "The only move you make, is to rip the sole off your boot and turnabout."

The Ensign slowly pulled his foot out of his boot as he gave Gabriel a dark look. "When your woman isn't around... I'll get my fifty credits outta you an-" as he was suddenly choked off as Torilla simply smiled. "Now... Ensign, I believe you were told to leave... and threatening my son is never wise.."

The Ensign's hand went to his throat as Gabriel simply smiled. "Any time Ensign... we can dance whenever you want... I'll break you." he indicated the door, the Ensign finally got the hint when Torilla released him from her grip.

Gabriel reached down and yanked the knife out of the boot. "Well Zara... this is a beautiful blade." he then handed it back to her, hilt first.

"I have many in my collection," Zara shrugged off. "Pretty handy in a fight, I think."

Gabriel raised an eyebrow. "Okay.. well I appreciate you intervening."

Torilla regarded her son. "Did you know him?"

"Not a clue... That's what's confusing me."

"Could just have a man-crush on you," Zara teased. "Not a half-bad man, for one of your age."

Gabriel chuckled as he lifted the glass he had before him. "Maybe... but I would have to decline. Besides... It would never work anyway.." he responded as Savannah simply laughed at the comment.

"Quite right," Zara agreed. "Your mom doesn't like to share a lot."

The three Yamaguchi's all shared a quiet chuckle over that comment as Gabriel smiled before sipping his drink. "Well.. it could be worse..."

"Indeed... but I'm not Elizabeth... I have my own family to consider and I'm also more Halanan then human, Elizabeth doesn't have the bonding thing to consider. I know she checked."

"How are you guys adjusting to having Gideon back?"

Savannah blinked. "Its been.... interesting and educational in various ways." she responded.

"I never had kids," Zara noted. "But kids seem to make the members in your family very happy."

Gabriel and his wife shared a look. "Oh its been challenging at times... each pregnancy is different... Look at Rachael...she's having her own fare share of issues.."

"Well I wish you guys good luck on round two then," Zara smiled brightly.

Savannah smiled. "Thank you." as Gabriel helped himself to some more food as Torilla blinked her eyes slowly. "So.. Zara... where you off to for leave?"

"Probably to see Commander Saint... I need to apologize to him," Zara spoke with a frown.

Torilla snorted. "Please..." she responded. "Why do you tolerate that clown?"

Gabriel raised an eyebrow as he suddenly stopped eating. "Mom?"

Savannah watched the two woman interact. "Gabe.." she shook her head at her husband, in an attempt to keep him out of it.

"I tolerate him because he's just like me," Zara spoke quietly. "That, and I gave him blue balls a while back. So he owes me."

Torilla regarded Zara. "No..." she responded. "You care... He does not..."

"He does... I think." Zara herself was not quite sure. But then they did share that lift together. "He's miffed because I haven't shown much faith in the matter."

Torilla looked dubious as she was clearly unconvinced. "Alright..." she paused. "Considering his track record.."

Just then a voice interrupted. "Hey guys!. Am I late?" Jake smiled at his wife as he gently handed his grandson off to his mother. Savannah gently accepted her son. "Ahhh Thanks for watching him for us, Dad..." Savannah smiled at Jake.

"Looks like you guys already ate...Hello Zara." he greeted the small Trill woman. "Mind if I join you."

"What kind of a question is that... I mean really.?" Torilla responded. "Dig in."
