Mission 15: Old Ghosts
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 1430Hrs, December 7th, 2390
Phoenix had been lounging around a good deal of the day. Depressed, really, at having her wings taken from her. The simulators were off limits until after her counseling session with Tressa so needless to say, Phoenix spent most the bored and brooding.
Finally, Phoenix just decided to go back to bed. She just did not have the energy, it felt like, to fight the system. And any fight to got into lately, folks ended up in the infirmary.
So there she lay, under the covers. For hours, she must of drifted in and out of sleep. Most so when Siaxx went to work. Dealing with this new form degradation alone, became too hard and many times Phoenix awake with the temptation to call Siaxx back to their quarters.
It honestly, just was not fair. So far as Phoenix was concerned, Tane had gone and removed all identity Phoenix had left. Which was this ace pilot no one could contend with.
So it was no surprise when the chime rang that Phoenix did not answer. She was into one of her more heavier sleep cycles, after all.
Siaxx was outside their quarters with both arms full as she was holding a Bengal kitty in her gentle embrace, she had hoped that Phoenix would be awake for this but she should have guessed that she would be asleep so Siaxx gently tapped the release and then she entered the darkened and empty quarters
Siaxx quietly replicated the things that a cat would need as she began to get things set up before she poked her head into the master bedroom.
Siaxx gently held the cat in her embrace as Shonax twitched his tail, he could feel the distress of the person before them while she slept. "Phoenix.." Siaxx whispered softly. "Phoenix.... I'm home... and..I brought us someone new.." the Bolian smiled.
Phoenix opened her eyes slowly and blinked in confusion when she saw the kitten in Siaxx's arms.
"Shonax say hello," and with that she set the cat down on the bed. Shonax blinked as he sat at the edge of the bed.
"Hello," Phoenix spoke, feeling a bit odd petting the kitten. Her blue eyes then darted to Siaxx as she sat up in bed. "You look happy, for a change," Phoenix noted with a truly pleased tone.
"Well Fives and his merry band of miscreants brought three cats down to sickbay. Teval got one, Fives got the second and I got him." Siaxx smiled with a wide grin. "I named him Shonax after my father... and he's housetrained. The kitty litter is out in the bathroom and the food station is in the main area near the replicator." the Bolian explained.
Phoenix nodded and began to pet the kitten as she took in the details. And the further Siaxx went, the more a plan of vengeance began to form. She knew how she would get even with Tane, which caused a joyous smile to form when Shonax started to bat at her real finger.
"Well.. he'll come to sickbay with me, he can help me in dealing with malcontent patients who have issues with me." she smiled. "that is... if you're okay with him staying here." Siaxx sounded almost hesitant on the last part of what she was saying.
"I'm fine with it," Phoenix finally answered with a sure nod. "I don' normally like cats, but this little beast and I seem to have good understandin'. So yes."
In answer, Siaxx proceeded to kiss Phoenix on the lips. "Yay!"
"You ready to talk about that thin' you skipped last night?" Phoenix asked casually while she scratched the kitten's back.
Siaxx blinked. "Oh.. yes." she remembered after a moment. "the roommate agreement." she paused. "You know that Bolians generally prefer many mates... and I've never really minded you being with others but... I honestly find I prefer just one mate... you." she explained. "I love you..."
"I love you too," Phoenix smiled brightly. Happier in that moment than she had all day. She gave Siaxx a kiss on the lips and confessed, "An' I've always loved ya too. But I'm curious to why you suddenly only want monogamy."
Siaxx opened her mouth to say something but she stopped herself at the last moment before she sat down on the bed. "How do I say this without sounding like a complete ass?" she paused. "I've been okay with our relationship being open but.... whenever you're with someone else.... I kinda get jealous... " she admitted. "seeing him with you bothered me on a very personal level.... I'm sorry.." she added the last part in a jumbled rush.
"Hah!" Phoenix just began laughing, and shook her head. But before Siaxx could react, she pulled Siaxx into her arms and hugged her. "I'm fine bein' with just you, Dear... An' I love knowin' you care about me so. Cause it's not often folks care about me so much."
Siaxx was shocked with Phoenix's response as she felt Phoenix threw her arms around the Bolian's shoulders, the cat protested as it meowed at Phoenix. "I know about your history... and you don't scare me... you let me.... be me. Thats one of the reasons why I wanted you to myself... I was never sure of how to say it..." she paused. "reminds me... I was able to only get us a half day... but I'm going to rearrange the schedule to give us more time...."
"It aint gonna bother me, Dear." Phoenix sighed happily and dragged Siaxx with her to lay on the bed. The kitty seemed to want in between them while Phoenix stroked Siaxx's bald head. "Just gettin' time away is enough. An' we can even bring Shonax and make a right day of it. Might even catch a fish for him to eat."
Siaxx smiled. "Khasst, that sounds just heavenly. But if we're taking kitty... lets make sure he's got a tracker on him... so we can find him if he should go missing." she commented as Siaxx made herself comfortable. "So.. a day at the beach... you, me and the kitty... it'll start about eleven hundred in two days time alright? Gives us time to pack and get things sorted."
"I'm all for it, Sweet Heart," Phoenix smiled brightly, and ruffled the kitty's head.
The kitty looked at Phoenix before her meowed at her before nuzzling her fingers, clearly liking the attention he was getting.
