Mission: Mission 15: Old Ghosts
Location: Various Locations - USS Roanoke
Timeline: 0800Hrs, December 7th, 2390

Gunnery Sergeant Duval stood as he regarded the Marines all standing in something of an orderly row as he sighed softly, the door open nearby as one of the security crewman rushed in, he tripped and ended up flat on his face. Bremer looked up. "Oh... shit.."

Duval sighed. "Stand in the second row." he commanded.

"I'm not Marine-"

"NOW!" Duval roared.

He then stepped forward as he began looking over the Marines. He came across an E-6 as Duval looked him over. "Looking a little overweight there Staff Sargent?"

"Uhh Yeah Gunny."

"Mmmm... might wanna work on losing some of your weight. you look like a slob." and with that Duval continued until he came face to face with one of the privates. "Holy god.." Duval paused. "Whats your name Private?"

"Sir. Private Jamin 'Stiefmütterchen' LaBrosse. Sir!"

Duval growled. "Do not ever call me sir, ever again Private.. drop and give me twenty.."

The massively overweight private dropped and landed on the floor with something akin to a wet splat as Duval blinked while he winced. 'Oh fuck me... a massive blob of a man..'

Chalan watched from the back of the room, barely able to contain a laugh, as the fat guy could barely manage one pushup.

"Bloody Hell Private. you really are a modern art masterpiece." Duval commented. "Okay... stop making like you are dead and get up off off my deck..." he shook his head. "disgracefull... Second squad.. who commands this outfit?"

The overweight E6 responded. "I do Gunny."

"Really.. Oh good... I thought this was gonna be hard.." before he went over to the E6. "Whats your excuse scumbag?"

"Sir. don't have an excuse."

Duval blew a fuse. "Don't ever call me sir ever again.. I work for a living." he growled. "I swear... I'm gonna enjoy this assignment... if only to reign in the shitehawks like you." he shook his head. "Whats your name anyway?

"Alastair Beiber, Sir..."

Duval went purple with rage. "I will fucking kill you if you call me sir, ever again.."

Chalan just shook his head in disappointment. Sometimes he wondered how guy's like this managed to get promoted.

Duval regarded the marines. "Alright.. I want you all in the gym for the next couple of hours.. try to loose some weight.. including you fatso." and with that he dismissed the assembled Marines.

Duval looked at Bremer. "You.. get the fuck out of this space crewman or I will have you shot.."

The named crewman fell flat on his face after he turned and ran away from Duval who sighed. "Oh dear god... whats the fuck is wrong with you.. get up and get out!"

The crewman somehow managed to get up and dash out the door as Duval sighed. "Idiot." he commented, it was then he realized he wasn't alone.

Chalan shook his head lightly," That went well, at least they are our worst squad. Looks like when daisy reorganized the squad she put all the worst failures in one squad."

Duval nodded his head. Indeed. At least the Captain was a decent officer.. "Tell me about it... so we stick these failures on the line and they all die when the first rounds go wild." he shruged. "I need to go see the Skipper anyway."

Captain Rohr was observing from a distance. "Gunnery Sergeant Duval, I'd like to see you in my office." she told him in a pleasant tone.

Duval nodded "Okay Daisy" and with that he followed the human klingon hybrid into her office. "Yeah. whats up?"

"Hello Gunny. I'm sorry we haven't had the chance to meet earlier." Daisy apologized.

"Its understandable Daisy..." he responded evenly. "We've both been busy with these Marines we got saddled with." he commented with. "So.. whats on your mind?"

"It's about the those marines Gunny." Daisy told Duval. "While I think we need to have tough training, this isn't boot camp. I think it would be better if we toned down the yelling and derogatory comments." Daisy told Duval, though it sounded more like an advisement.

"I would also like to pull off the overweight ones off combat duty. We'll put them on a weight loss and fitness program. They won't return to combat duty until they get cleared by medical." Daisy suggested.

Duval nodded. "That will be helpfull." he responded. "and its also fake NCO anger... I'm normaly very level headed and cheerful." the older NCO responded.

"Good." Daisy smiled. "Your going to be responsible for getting them back into a combat ready state."

"If I need to break them, so be it." he replied with a cheerful smile. "I will try to be civilized... I will however make no promises.."

"As long as you act professionally." Daisy told Duval. "I want you to document as much as possible."

"I'm always professional..." he paused. "and I will deal with fatso.." he added with a grin. "How in gods name did he ever become a marine is beyond me."

Daisy looked over the PADD and the Marines physical records and shook her head. "He's our problem now." Daisy stated. "Talk with Commander Dvald in medical to get these guys on some sort of weight loss diet. Also give them frequent check ups on their progress. If these guys don't show progress then we'll ramp up the intensity."

"Consider it done." Duval replied. "I'll try not to break him."

"Thanks Gunny." Daisy replied.

"Anything else Daisy?" Duval asked.

"Just one thing Gunny: if in the unlikely event I have to discipline you then you'll address as me Captain Rohr." Daisy told him.

Duval nodded. "If you want.." he answered. "
