Lieutenant Siaxx Dvald regarded the bottle in her hand as she handed it to the bartender. "Take care of this for me please.... I will want it back someday.."

"Alrighty then missy.." the bartender responded. "What else can I get for you?"

"Two bowels of Irish stew, heavy on the meat and potatoes for both please?"

"Commin' right up." the bartender turned and went off, he returned a few moments later with two large bowels of food, both of which steamed as he handed them to her, she grinned at him. "Cheers." and with that she went back to the table where her girlfriend was waiting.
"Dinner is served" Siaxx announced.

"Oooh. I could kiss you for this meal," Phoenix smiled brightly as she dove into her meal.

"So... still glad you came over here?"

"Do I like this posting? No... Do I like serving where the woman in my life is? Yes." Phoenix left it at that, content to eat her meal.

The Bolian raised an eyebrow. "Do I even wish to know?" she inquired. "You seem to not wish to play nice with anyone.... and Rachael is here by the way.... which reminds me.... why are you having a feud with a thirteen year old anyway?"

Phoenix had to finish chewing a big bite of potato before she answered. "Rachael don' bother me now... Well, she does on those occasions where she airs my personal thoughts to everyone in the room. But she don' really bother me much."

Siaxx smiled. "Really.... Considering you two have been feuding since you met." the Bolian commented evenly. "Though... between you and me. I don't think Torilla is going to be around for too much longer..."
the commented. "She is pregnant afterall."

"Tane don' really inspire a family atmosphere for folks to live around either. She turned Ten Forward into her own little drinking pub, for example," Phoenix agreed rather indifferently to her CO. "Think the kid will stick around here or go back with her father, when Torilla leaves?"

Siaxx blinked her dark eyes as she regarded the woman across from her. "What makes you think that Torilla will go back to the Courageous when shit here gets too insane?" she inquired. "I'm ready for her.... I can handle her medical problems.."

"People that come here, and stay too long, end up at dead ends," Phoenix explained rather simply to her counterpart. "This isn't a place I see Torilla making her command mark on."

Siaxx slowly nodded her head. "I know... I think Torilla will remain here before she has her babies.. then she'll call it a day and move on..."

"You think Rachael will stick around?" Phoenix asked, a mix of hope and sadness.

"That depends on Torilla..." Siaxx admited. "You seem to have gotten used to having her around... I'm suprised by that... I thought you two enjoyed fighting with each other."

"Sometimes, sure." Phoenix shrugged. "But tha kid needs normalcy an' a place where she aint pressured to be somethin' she don' wanna be."

Siaxx nodded as she quickly looked around. "Speaking of Rachael..." she paused. "There is something up with her.... I'm not sure of what it is though, she's not told me." she admitted.

Phoenix, as much as she loved Siaxx, also had major problems trusting her with personal thoughts. That was why Phoenix hesitated for only a moment.

"I wish I knew. But whatever it is, she'll tell us when she's ready," Phoenix replied in an attempt to comfort her lover.

Siaxx raised an eyebrow as she commented. "It'll be fine." she regarded Phoenix. "I hope..."

"You worry too much," Phoenix laughed, then leaned in closer to Siaxx to kiss her on the cheek.

Siaxx smiled. "Yeah..." she commented. "But.. that's me.."

Phoenix, in rare form, stared longingly into her lover's eyes. "I love you."

Siaxx seldom heard Phoenix say it openly, she sighed softly as she smiled. "I love you too.." she took a moment to say it as it was rare that these two ever had a moment like this.

Phoenix took Siaxx's hand in hers, then kissed the back of it gently. They were soft, blue, dainty things compared to Phoenix's coarse hand. Or the cold, prosthetic counterpart. Moments like this, Phoenix pondered taking the engagement ring out of her back pocket. But when she looked up at Siaxx's face, the memory of the bruises and surgeries her girlfriend had to fix the broken bones from their last major blowout?

Doubt always stopped her before the human woman could being. And that was why Phoenix always seemed stuck on just a love declaration. Was it enough though? The pilot did not know, and Siaxx appeared content for the status quo.

"You keep me grounded a lot," Phoenix finally added with her day dreamy stare upon Siaxx's face. "I never thank you for that. So thanks."

Siaxx raised an eyebrow. "That's because I'm not judgmental, I accept you for you..."

"So have your folks asked about us yet?" Phoenix asked with a curious wink.

"They have... my folks are opposed to it." the Bolian sighed. "They feel I should stop screwing around and.... settle down and have children.." she rolled her eyes.

"Do you want children?" Phoenix asked out of curiosity.

Siaxx paused, she had not expected Phoenix to inquire so directly before she nodded. "I've thought about it..." she admitted.

"There aint no right or wrong answer, Dear." Phoenix smiled and caressed Siaxx's hands more warmly. "Just because I don' like kids, it doesn' mean you should get the shaft on them."

Siaxx raised an eyebrow, for all her talk of sharing, she was finding that she was actually anything but open to sharing. "Our relationship has had a lot of work with just you and me in the picture... adding a child would seriously complicate things..." the Bolian sighed.

Phoenix sighed with true exasperation. That wasn't a direct answer. An excuse, yes. But also a blatant sidestep on Siaxx's part to avoid the question.

"I need to call my folks an' see how they are doin'." Phoenix stood up at that point and tried to hide the hurt in her eyes. "An' I got a roster to run through after that. So I'll probably be home rather late tonight."

Siaxx looked at Phoenix's half finished bowl of stew as she sighed, there was nothing she really could say at this point because she didn't want to raise an infant around Phoenix most of the time because she knew how volatile the other woman could get, what was worse was that her entire family was against the relationship she had with Phoenix.

Siaxx picked up Phoenix's unfinished dinner as she quickly began to eat the dish to herself, as she realized she needed to see Torilla.
