Senior Officer's Meeting - Part Two

Posted on Mon Feb 24th, 2020 @ 4:47pm by Commander Telios Wintersnow & Division Admiral Celeste Yamaguchi-Hobbs

Mission: Mission 14: Rage Rage Rage Against the Dying of the Light
Location: Various Locations - USS Shadow
Timeline: 0810Hrs - April 23rd, 2390

"The Shadow has been dispatched to rescue the crew and maybe salvage the vessel. Lt. Doe's intelligence report shows that Orion activity is at a minimum in there area. It's unlikely that we should encounter them, however the possibility of it still remains. So I want us keep an eye out for them. Better to be safe than sorry. I'd prefer our Chief Science Officer be here to explain what the conditions on the planet will be like. Any questions, comments or concerns?" Hunt asked.

Wintersnow regarded the planet on the screen as she recalled something her mother once told her about gravity wells and the like. "I assume the storms are begin caused by the Coriolis effect from the gas giant?" she did not take her gaze off of the planet.

"That's a good question and one I'd like to pose our Science Chief," Hunt replied. He then added his orders, "Also we have a Romulan Liaison aboard the ship, Sub-Commander D'Nal Jorel. I expect you all to treat him with the utmost respect and make him feel at home. Commander Maxwell, you have a cloaking device to install that we can use with restrictions. Doctor, as I understand it Romulan Ale can be used for medicinal purposes. Should you need some, now might be a good time to procure some while D'Nal's former ship is still near. Just keep it under lock and key. Counselor, make sure the Sub-Commander settles in alright. Mr. Pike, make sure our weapons and shields are at the ready should we need them. Mr. Doe, keep your eyes and ears open for possible threats. Number One, find out what was so important to keep our missing officers from this meeting."

Lt. Doe who is sat back in his chair with his elbows on the arms of the chair and his finger tips touching, he looks over them slightly smiles and nods without saying anything.

Maxwell had heard everything, and he wondered what could have brought down a ship in terms of atmospheric turbulence. That was worrying. And if the Shadow was going there, what could that have meant for any of them on board. Looked like he was going to be burning the midnight oil trying to figure out how that happened. The commander wasn't wrong in her assessment of needing the Science Buff in explaining the solar systems differing qualities in the region they were entering. He didn't like that at all. Something that could mess with a science ships capabilities so thoroughly to make it crash land on the moon? Something didn't add up in his mind. And then he heard his name mentioned. The glossy thinking look in his eyes disappeared in a instant turning to regard the Captain. And then his orders came in. And this his arms raised up over his head and his fists high in the air.

“ALIEN TECH! WHO HOO!” Maxwell cried out before he just laughed, shaking his head, before looking to the Captain. “To much joy? And when do you want to head out?”

Celeste Yamaguchi nodded. "I'll grab a few... see what their skipper wants in exchange for them.." she responded with a smile.

Joe raised an eyebrow at the comment about Alien Tech.

"I'll make it so Doctor," Hunt replied. He looked at Maxwell, "Just a bit. We'll resume coarse in a half hour. If there is nothing else from those present, then this first Senior Officer's Meeting is dismissed."

Yamaguchi rose to her feet as she almost fled out the door, Wintersnow was a fair bit more graceful about it as she walked out at a more sedate pace. "Mmm..." she slowly smiled.

The door to the conference room opened again. The ships Cardassian science officer stepped through the door with a very embarrassed look on his face. "Sorry I'm late everybody. Someone of my staff had been using the lab computers without my permission and I've been finding out who been doing it."

Maxwell Just grinned shaking his head as the Cardassian Officer appeared and he just gave an eccentric wave of the arm for him to take a seat. "Just the person that I need to keep this ship from becoming a burning wreck in space." he commented as he gestured to the display console, and nodded his head. "So someone was dicking around in the mainframe huh? Well, guess I better run up that diagnostic that we need to get done in a week. We're they doing something even remotely interesting?" He questioned, as he stood up and looked towards the others, and then nodded his head tapping his finger against the display to zoom in on two factors, the the system that they were visiting and the science vessel that had sent out a S.O.S.

"Boiled down to what we just discussed my Cardassian Friend, A ship went down, there's no evidence right now to suggest that it was an attack on raiders, so were are thinking solar phenomenon and slash or planetary quirk. That's where you come in. After I meet that Romulan Liaison, I'm going to need everything that might affect shipboard operations and then figure out if it's something that we can live with not."

Wintersnow regarded the Cardassian, her workload had suddenly been cut in half which was something that she appreciated. "Someone... playing in the mainframe?" she inquired. "Do I dare ask?" the Draenei inquired.

" Trust me you don't want to know." Aabrak said giving them the look that people knew they didn't want to know without getting certain images out of their heads. He turned to Maxwell and nodded his white eyes focused on the display consle. " Interesting I'll start looking through he scanners and see if they found anything. Maybe send in probe from a safe distance and see if it can see anything. Do we have any other information on the ship and what is was doing. "

Wintersnow raised an eyebrow. "Well... I will admit, my curiosity is killing me" the Draenei responded with her usual dry wit. "I might ask for the offenders name... so we may at least punish the fool responsible."

" Ensign Hal Waring. Let's just say he's not using the lab computers to look up his habits." Aabrak replied hoping people would get what he was saying. He was still not happy on catching someone using his computers to look up erotic holo vids.

"Do you have anything to add? Like what the conditions are like on Cthuloon 5 and what the away team can expect?" Captain Hunt asked his Science Chief getting down to the business at hand.

Wintersnow nodded her head. "Very well. I will leave that one with you to punish as you deem appropriate." she answered, clearly picking up what the Cardassian officer was putting down.

The Cardassian rummaged through his pockets before he found the pad he was looking for. " What data we have on Cthuloon 5 is not good. Standard moon orbiting a gas giant, but because it so close to the giant it atmosphere is in the source of constant storms. Due to the radiation from the giant the transporters won't work so I suggest we use shuttles. There no life other than basic plants on it surface so there nothing we have to worry about disturbing. "

"Alright.." Telios turned her attention back to the gathering as a whole. "Sir, did we miss anything we needed to cover?" she inquired.

"I think we got everything we need. NOW, if there is nothing else, you're all dismissed," Hunt replied.

Hunt waited a while, but when nobody said anything he ordered, "Dismissed. Return to your duties." He followed everyone out of the conference room.
