Outside Crums, stood MCPO Daniel McKnight as he waited for his dinner date this evening,
Major Daisy Ruhr had asked him out to dinner and now he was waiting for her, wearing a
pair of blue jeans with a light grey shirt, a pair of black sneakers and a black leather jacket
completed the outfit that he wore.
He raised an eyebrow. "Come on Daisy, whats keeping you?" he asked himself.
Daisy was walking at a fast pace down the promenade. "Sorry Chief. Got caught up in some
last minute personnel problems. I swear, sometimes it's more like I'm a babysitter rather
than the Marine commander." She apologized to Orthos.
"I know exactly how that feels Daisy... and... its Daniel or Orthos when I'm not on duty."
he commented, a smile on his face.
"Oh, yes. Sorry" Daisy smiled. She looked down at her duty uniform. "Sorry, I didn't get a
chance to change." She admitted. To herself Daisy didn't have a lot of civilian clothes to
chose from anyways.
"Its fine." he responded evenly. "Shall we?" he inquired.
"Yes!" Daisy grinned. "Let's eat."
McKnight followed the Klingon woman into the restaurant, a waiter showed them to their
table and left them with a couple of menus after taking their drink order. "So what do you
think?" McKnight inquired. "Share a starter between us or just go for a meal.?"
"Oh, let's get our meals and a good bottle of wine." Daisy suggested.
McKnight nodded. "Sounds good to me... though my experience with wines has never been
good... I never found one I liked."
"Really? I'm rather surprised. Maybe we should experiment with a few until we find one you
can agree with?" Daisy asked with a smile.
McKnight was surprised by her statement but then upon reflection, he was quickly seeing that
there was far more to this Klingon beauty then he had assumed. "Alright.. sounds good.. though...
Its been a long time since I've had anything alcoholic to drink... so I'll need to be carefull."
"Oh, we'll just sample a few." Daisy replied. "Now, do you want to try red or white? I you can't
decide there are a few Earth reds I like."
McKnight paused. "Lets try white wine then?" he commented. "Do it slow and gentle.."
Daisy called the waiter over. "A nice Chardonnay please?" The waiter gave a slight bow. "Thank you." Daisy told the waiter.
The waiter returned shortly with a bottle in tow. He presented it to Daisy and then to McKnight.
McKnight raised an eyebrow, he knew next to nothing about wine so he was going to rely very heavily upon Daisy for this.
"I know next to nothing about wine...." he commented apologetically. "I'm sorry"
"That's the fun of experimenting. What is the worst that could happen? You find something you don't like?" Daisy asked coyly. She took a sip of wine and then looked at McKnight with an evil smile. "Or maybe the worst thing to happen is you find something you do like."
"We will see my dear... we will see.." and with that he grinned at her. "Its not bad." he commented after sipping the wine placed before him.
"I was expecting worse."
Daisy washed down her cup. "Let's try a red and see if you like that." Daisy explained. She called over the waiter " A fine merlot please?" She asked as the waiter dutifully returned with another bottle.
McKnight finished the glass of the white wine as he raised an eyebrow. "A little dry for my liking... but overall its not bad." he regarded the red wine. "Mmmm...." he regarded the Klingon woman sitting before him
Daisy giggled. "Good isn't it?" she rhetorically asked. "After the red we should finish off with a port."
McKnight regarded her. "Which one is a port?" he paused as he felt stupid. "I know next to nothing about wine... no doubt you can tell"
"A port is basically a heavier wine with more proof." Daisy eagerly explained. "Great for after dinner and goes especially well with chocolate."
McKnight raised an eyebrow as he regarded the bottle before the two of them. "Mmm.... so... Port and chocolate." he then smiled as he regarded her. "My favorite part of dinner."
Daisy smiled. "It might be our last chance to enjoy real chocolate and port for a while."
McKnight looked at the waiter. "Two large blocks of milk chocolate please. I feel like ingesting some serious sugar tonight."
"I hope your having a good time. I am." Daisy stated then let out a giggle.
