Dinner with the Yamaguchi's

Mission: Mission 13: The Space Between
Location: Various Locations - Starbase 400
Timeline: 1200Hrs - February 24th, 2390

Commander Celeste Yamaguchi was standing at the replicator while waiting
for the Klingon Major whom she found herself taking a liking to, she had not
expected to bond so quickly with the Marine as she generally didn't get along
with Marines, now she was wearing the skirt instead of the pants which for
her was unusual, it showcased her muscular legs.

She smiled as her companion arrived. "Daisy. is everything sorted out?"

"Hello Doctor, yes just about everything is in order." Daisy told her. "Let's go
to the promenade and get some real coffee and food. I'll buy." Daisy suggested
to the tall woman.

Yamaguchi smiled. "Sounds lovely. shall we?" she inquired.

"Great! What type of food do you like and do you know where we can get it
here?" Daisy asked.

Yamaguchi raised an eyebrow. "Well there are several places we can go." the human woman commented. "According to my sister-in-law who is assigned here.." she turned her head as she muttered. "Torilla... where the hell are you?" she sighed softly.

She noticed a name designated 'Green Dragon' as she raised an eyebrow. "Mmm.." as a younger woman seemed to appear out of the crowd. "Hey Aunt Celeste." she smiled up at Celeste

"Rachael.. We're looking for a place for lunch.." she tuned to Daisy. "Daisy, this is Rachael, my niece. her father commands the Courageous, the ship that towed us home."

"Hello there. Nice to meet another member of the Yamaguchi clan." Daisy greeted the girl.

The teenager nodded with a smile. "Pleased to meet you Daisy." she was un-intimidated by the Major in the least

"We are looking to get some grub. Do you have any recommendations?" Daisy asked Rachael.

"So.. Lunch, right this way ladies." and with that Rachael turned as she began leading the two women towards Crum's, a few minutes later she got to their destination. "Go on in, Mom has an understanding with Crum." and with that the teenager smiled. "The best place on base for food... have a nice day ladies." and with that she slipped back into the crowd again. Yamaguchi looked at Ruhr. "That was different."

"Where did she go?" Daisy asked. "She came and went like some sort of ninja."

"Well... never had my relatives pop up when I needed them to." she shrugged. "but then Rachael is a little... different." she commented. "But she's my niece.." she grinned at the other woman.

The two tall women were greeted and shown to their table.

Yamaguchi sat down at the table as the waiter took their drink orders after placing two menu's before them

"I'm rather hungry. The rack of lamb looks nice." Daisy told Celeste.

Yamaguchi grinned. "The rack of ribs looks good too... raising Andorian children has taught me to value strength and honoring one's fallen foe." she smiled. "tell me something, is any of this prepared with a replicator?"

The waiter had the good sense to look insulted. "Ma'am, I'm sorry... but I hope that was a joke."

The grin on Yamaguchi's face widened. "Indeed it was... we're not blessed with a real kitchen aboard the Shadow."

"Ahh... fair enough, that explains why you asked about replicators."

"Indeed, I meant no disrespect to yourself or to the establishment." Yamaguchi explained.

"Alright.. I'll see to it you both get your money's worth... after I inform the chef that you have been neglected for far too long.." he paused. "so.. should I give you a few minutes to decide?"

"Yeah.. would you mind terribly?"

"Not at all. I'll be back shortly." and with that the young man turned and departed.

"Chatting up the help?" Daisy asked with a slight smirk.

"So.. what if I was.. he's good looking and I am single after all." she smiled at the other woman. "You're still in the same boat as me..."

"Well. . . yes." Daisy became a little defensive. "I'm just. . . too busy for a relationship."

Celeste chuckled softly. "Sure Daisy." she clearly didn't believe her. "Just you wait, the right man will come along and sweep you off of your feet..." she smiled. "I can believe... but my luck has always been bad with men."

Daisy let a giggle slip out. "Maybe a waiter is what you need then?" Daisy blushes as the waiter at that point appears and serves them their food.

"Thank you" Daisy tells the waiter as he serves her.

Yamaguchi smiled as she plucked a rib off of the plate as she proceeded to eat the meat off of the bone. "Oh wow." she smiled, clearly enjoying a little slice of heaven.

Daisy uses her hands to tear into the rare meat. She starts to eat the meat right off the bone. "I normally don't like to eat a lot of protein but when I get stressed out all I want to do is eat red meat." Daisy states as she takes a big bite into her hunk of meat.

"So.. whats stressing you out?" Yamaguchi's smile widened. "is it Orthos...?"

"Who, the tech? Oh, he is more of a nuisance. No, I had to deal with Telios, Selgae, and Werner. I'm sure everything will work itself out though." Daisy stated before digging her teeth into another piece of meat.

"Ahh yes.. Selgae... is she and Werner getting along and did he learn the lesson you set out for him?" Yamaguchi inquired. "You could always try getting him to try hitting on her... he might find an outlet for his issues with her." she paused. "or she might claw him good."

"No, the two are going to settle their differences in a sparing ring." Daisy told her. "I'll send him over to you tomorrow. Right now I don't want to think about work." Daisy chewing into her meat in almost feral manner.

Yamaguchi was a fair bit more restrained in her eating but she too was enjoying her food, "Alright.. no more work.... so.. see any men you want?" Celeste grinned at the other woman.

"No, men usually stay away from me. I guess I kind of intimidate them or something." Daisy stated. "I'm surprised at you. I would think an Alpha Women such as yourself would have a whole stable of men at her beck and call."

Celeste thought the statement was hilarious. "Don't let my brothers hear you saying that... Jake might want you right then and there while Daniel is a bit more subtle. He'll want to get to know you before he makes his move..." she then grinned. "A few other members of my family would find you most diverting. especially Talon.. She doesn't discriminate."

"Remind me to avoid your family reunions." Daisy said mirthfully.

Celeste chuckled softly. "My family reunions can get large... I have six siblings with me as the baby." she grinned at the Klingon woman "My eldest sibling April... her kids are about fourteen years younger then me, they are at the academy now." she paused. "well her eldest two are anyway."

"Wow, six siblings? I have two brothers and a sister. My oldest brother is twenty eight years older than I am. My mom and dad were old when they had me. My dad was seventy two when I was born. I think that's what explains how I got more of her genes. My dad was too old for his genes to make a difference."

"You never speak of your family... mine is simply vast." Celeste commented with a smile.

Daisy returned a nervous smile. "My mother is no longer with us. She died while I was at the Academy. The rest of my family is estranged. They are all big time scientists and engineers. They just think I'm in Star Fleet. They don't know I'm a Marine."

"So... you wanted something different." Yamaguchi responded. "Nothing wrong with that...I'm the only Doctor in my rather ample family." she grinned. "Most the rest of them are tactical officers, ops officers and ship drivers, though Talon could do double duty as a hooker...lord knows she gets enough sex."

Daisy laughed out loud. "Doctor Yamaguchi! Wow! Is Talon on your bad side?" Daisy asked with a smile. "No, my family are a bit," daisy stopped to think, "Oh they're just snobs. They look down on anybody who isn't a doctor or scientist or engineer. No of them ever played sports or served in Star Fleet."
Daisy added.

"Talon..?" she smiled. "No. there is no helping those who like sex enough to want it all the time, Oh and she's married too... quite happily too. She just talks about it..." she paused. "chances are.. her husband is making her scream even now." she chuckled softly. "some people have all the luck."

"Oh" Daisy becoming aware of what Yamaguchi was saying "One of those types. Yes, I've run into them before. All bluster. Doesn't surprise me that shes married."

"When you meet Talon... you'll understand." Celeste responded as another person approached them, this guy wore the rank of Captain, a waiter came with him. "I apologize for bothering you ladies but this man says he knows you."

Yamaguchi smiled. "He should know me, considering we're related." and with that the taller woman stood up as she gave her older brother a hug. "Hi Jake.."

Captain Jake Yamaguchi smiled. "I'm sorry for disturbing you both at dinner." he commented evenly as Yamaguchi indicated the handsome woman next to her who was clearly part Klingon. "Jake.. meet Daisy. The Shadows best looking bachelorette."

Jake smiled. "Pleased to meet you." he said to the Major.

"Oh" Daisy stumbled, a little surprised to see a Captain. "Hello Sir."

Jake chuckled softly as a waiter came over to take his order, he ordered just a drink as he had no wish to cause issues, plus he was out of uniform. "No uniform, no ranks... I sometimes hate being called sir." he gave his younger sibling who had a far darker skin-tone a reproving look. "Celeste. you weren't expecting me.. were you?"

"No." Celeste admitted. "I thought you would be making nice with your wife."

Jake chuckled softly. "No, Torilla isn't back from her mission yet."

"Your wife is in Star Fleet too?" Daisy asked. "Is she the Captain also?"

"No... Torilla is Chief Strategic Operations Officer aboard the Starbase here." he explained. "She's looking after
our youngest and.... she'll be delivering two more."

Celeste brightened. "Wait... Torilla is pregnant?"

"Yep... with twins."

"Oh Jake, that's fantastic news...." then it hit her. "Wait.. she's Halanan right?" she regarded her brother.
"Can she even have twins?"

Daisy looked a little confused. She was unaware of Halanan physiology.

Jake caught the confused look on the Major's face. "Halanan's have an issue with getting pregnant, their numbers are dwindling as a result." he explained. "Normally they have one child, maybe two... Torilla is working on four and five.. and people want to know why..."

"Oh." Daisy stated, now starting to see the big picture. "So isn't it a good thing she has more children?" Daisy asked.

Jake shook his head. "No. her government is asking questions... and so are a few doctors." he sighed softly.

Daisy returned to looking confused. "The Federation or Halanan? What could they do to her, shes a Star Fleet officer?" Daisy asked.

"The Halanan one." Jake responded. "Its a complicated situation but suffice to say they are having something of a personnel shortage." he smiled. "their numbers are dwindling because they can;t get it on... most families will have one or two kids." his smile widened. "Torilla has had more then that.."

A second waiter came over, this time with a woman in uniform wearing the rank of Lt Commander but before the waiter could ask, Jake rose to his feet as he gently embraced his wife. "Torilla."

Celeste chuckled. "To answer your unspoken question. Yes. she's with us."

Torilla smiled. "Celeste.. " she then regarded Daisy. "Hello. I'm Torilla Yamaguchi, you've met Rachael already and Jake here." she inquired of the Klingon looking woman.

"Hello Commander, nice to meet you." Daisy smiled at Torilla.

Torilla regarded Daisy. "You as well Major. Rachael spoke of you." and with that Torilla smiled. "Its good to be home again.." Jake raised an eyebrow as Torilla turned to her husband. "I'll tell you later." he commented. "so... what are we interrupting?"

Celeste raised an eyebrow. "Torilla...You really need to learn how to relax.... considering the news"

"Yes well.." Torilla smiled as she looked down at her abdomen which was still flat. "We'll see how this goes.." she turned to Daisy. "So..tell us something about yourself Major?"

"Oh, not much to say." Daisy was a little embarrassed talking about herself. "I'm the resident Klingon Warrior stereotype."

Jake shared a look with his wife as Torilla commented. "Oh I doubt that very much." she commented as if confiding a secret.

Celeste simply smiled. "I'll never tell."

Daisy smiled. "Um, okay." Daisy mumbled as she noticed the cryptic looks Celeste and Jake exchanged.

Celeste had almost finished her food while the others were chatting, she noticed that Daisy was almost finished as well.
"Well you two can pay for this since you did crash our lunch." she commented to her brother.

Jake regarded Celeste. "I'm not surprised."

"Captain, Commander, have a nice afternoon." Daisy told the two other Yamaguchi's as she got up. "Are you returning to the Shadow, Doctor?"

Yamaguchi nodded. "Indeed." she responded with a smile as a waiter came over. "I've got their bill plus my own..." Jake commented with
a smile. "Also we're ready to order now."

Celeste Yamaguchi followed the Major out the door. "I apologize for them Daisy, I wasn't expecting either of them to show up."

"Nothing to apologize for." Daisy told Celeste. "Your family is pleasant, if a little unorthodox."

"If you meet the others... you'll understand how unusual they are.."

"So Doctor, your the 'normal' one of the family?" Daisy half-halfheartedly asked.

Yamaguchi chuckled softly. "Why Daisy, You're asking the wrong Yamaguchi....." and with that she grinned at the Klingon woman.
"Normal is so overrated... I raise two Andorian's as my own, I keep my quarters about twenty degrees below normal for them and I
hunt on a weekly basis, mostly Ice borers but sometimes larger creatures in sub zero temperatures amid arctic conditions." she
explained. "No. I'm most certainly not normal."
