Mission 102: Sic Transit Tienn
Location: Various Locations - Starbase Vanguard (47)
Timeline: 0800Hrs - August 2nd, 2393
Lt Colonel Tienn Nerra moved down the hallway in silence, her small brood of Caitian children followed her, all wondering what was going on with their Bajoran mother. "Mom, you okay?" Balin inquired of her.
"Yeah, I was just thinking," Tienn explained. "How to deal with my brother, maybe it is past time I went home to Bajor to deal with him."
"He has treated you poorly?" Balin inquired as they reached their destination, the ships daycare facility. "Come on guys, in you go. I'll be back to pick you all up later." Tienn commented.
Tienn didn't answer the question while she gently knelt down so she could have a moment to fuss over the younger children as she brushed their fur gently with her hands. "It'll be okay guys. I'll be back later and the people here are very good at what they do."
An older human female appeared by the door, she was wearing a Starfleet uniform while a white collar and the rank of Chief warrant officer. "Hello Colonel, that we are and we'll look after your little ones." the older female smiled. "I'm Heather Sanderson and I will be looking after you all." she addressed herself to the children who were all clustered around their mother.
"Hello Heather," Tienn responded with a smile. "You are aware of the proper caring and feeding of Caitian children?" she inquired.
"Of course sweetie. I have close to forty students and the vast majority of those are Caitians." Sanderson smiled as she watched Tienn gently prod her children along into the classroom.
Moments later it was just Sanderson and Tienn standing outside. "You needn't worry Colonel. I will take very good care of your children," she explained with a gentle smile.
"Okay," Tienn answered, slowly smiling. "It's just that they have all been through a lot, especially Balin. That's why I brought him here rather than to the bases main school system."
"I understand," Sanderson responded quietly. "I'll probably have him assist me with the others then. Since he doesn't fit in with either the daycare or the base's school system."
"That's true, he's also extremely overprotective of me since he is he is a little bigger then me and stronger then me too," Tienn explained. "He is my son, how he or the others came into my life is unimportant. Still, there was one security guard who thought he was my husband. Balin was not happy whereas I laughed." Tienn explained, a gentle smile on her lips.
"Yes, I can see why you would. Fair enough. Any special concerns I should know about with your kits?" Sanderson asked.
"They are still filling out, even though they have been in my care for just over a year now." Tienn paused. "They do still have some socialization issues though, so they will want to be left alone much of the time."
"Oh my, well I will do my best to look after them. Since the vast majority of my kids today, are Caitian. I'll teach them about their culture and their heritage. The computer can assist me with this effort." the older human female explained.
"Thank you, well I've taken up enough of your time and I need to report in. Thank you, Heather, for your candor and your time."
"Of course sweetie." and with that, Sanderson turned and retreated into the classroom. Tienn Nerra meanwhile turned and made her way down towards Marine county, reaching her destination ten minutes later, she went over to her bosses office. "Hey. I need to see the Brigadier when she's free," she said to the young man behind the aide's desk.
"Of course Colonel, can I inquire as to the subject.?" the aide inquired, a smile on his face. Tienn knew why he was asking as he was serving as the Generals gatekeeper, if Tienn gave him attitude with his request then her request would go no further and he would outright deny her entry and she would get into trouble.
"Tell her its a family matter and I need some time to go resolve it," Tienn responded.
"Of course." and with that, the man went to work. "The General is busy with another officer, she will be a few minutes." he sounded surprised with this turn of events.
"Thank you, Chief." as Tienn gave him a rather lusty smile before she entered the Generals office.
Brigadier General Jerris Zh'Fegerro nodded as she regarded the other marine present. "Yes. I think that can be arranged. I'll have my guys coordinate this with your guys and maybe we can hammer something out." the svelte Andorian Shen was explaining to the commanding officer of one of the other marine battalions present around the ninety-second fleet.
"Sounds good," responded Major Heather Skyler, the commanding officer of the Marines assigned to the Avalon.
"You know what to do Major. I will detain you no longer, on your way." The General answered with a nod.
"Yessir, I'll head on back to the Avalon so I can get the ball rolling on this," she commented.
"Sounds good to me," Sh'zaleern answered as the two women rose to their feet, they shook hands before Skyler departed. Meanwhile, outside the office, the aide nodded. "The Colonel will see you now," he said to Tienn.
Tienn rose to her feet and went into the Generals office as Skyler was coming out. "Major." Tienn greeted the human female with a smile.
"Colonel," Skyler responded, likewise with a smile.
Brigadier General Jerris Zh'Fegerro nodded. "Colonel Tienn, you must be the least demanding of all the officers in the Nineteenth, and now you wish something of me, I almost don't believe it." the Andorian Zhen grinned att her Bajoran as she inhaled. "So, how may this old crone be helpin' you Tienn?"
Tienn was not sure if that was a joke but she elected to not comment on it. "Well. I'd like some leave time so I might go home to Bajor and deal with my brother once and for all. I will require about a month or so."
"Ahh, Tienn. Come in, sit down, you saved me the trouble of calling for you." the Andorian Zhen commented with a smile on her lips.
"I did?." Tienn answered. "Oh, Well I actually came for something completely different entirely." There was something in Tienn's tone, resignation.
"Why?. What's going on?" Zh'Fegerro inquired, concern on her face for the commander of the Marine combat engineers who were assigned to the nineteenth, she was also pregnant to boot.
"I need several weeks of leave time so I can go home to Bajor and deal with my brother. He has declared that I am an apostate and thus, I must go answer for this and his actions must be dealt with." Tienn explained.
Zh'Fegerro raised a hand. "Wait. Hold on a moment. Say all that again, except go slower this time." the Andorian shen smiled at the Bajoran female before her. "I'm guessing you've thought about this for a while and now you want to go deal with it because we're no longer at war with idiotic nation states."
"I do," Tienn answered. "Okay. Allow me to take a moment and explain." she paused. "My twin had been involved in an incident that very nearly left her comatose, it required several operations and surgeries to sort her issues out. I spoke of this to members of my family. Kol, my eldest brother had always been extremely pious and when he heard I had what one could call a crisis of faith, he had me declared as an apostate, one who has abandoned their faith." Tienn paused a moment to allow all of that to sink in before she continued. "His actions were illegal as he had no right to do what he did, he's not even the head of my family, that title belongs to my father who is still alive."
"Okay, So you want some time away from your post, to go home and deal with this issue.?" Zh'Fegerro inquired after listening for the last few minutes in silence. "Will this cause you any issues for your family?"
"I do. yes. I realize it a really bad time for it but I figured now would not be too bad of a time, since we're in a peacetime rotation." Tienn explained.
"Very well. I will grant your time, how much do you require?"
"A month," Tienn answered evenly.
"Done. I expect you back on September the first, as humans reckon time."
"Thank you, General," Tienn responded.
"You can thank me by getting the issue resolved and kicking his ass." the Andorian Zhen answered with a smile. "I want a picture of his face, preferably bloody with a black eye. That will be the thanks I require." The General gave the Bajoran a rather evil grin. "I hate men who abuse women, even female relatives, it pisses me the fuck off."
"General, you may consider your picture signed, sealed and in the mail." Tienn suddenly grinned.
"Excellent." Zh'Fegerro grinned back at the Bajoran female before her. "Alright then, I will keep you no longer. On your way Colonel and... Soraya lunan" she said the Bajoran words for 'Good luck.'
"Thank you General." and with that, Tienn rose to her feet and departed without another word, she had some calls to make and she needed to get things rolling on her leave, time was a precious commodity and she had little to waste.
