Mission: Mission 99: The Dreams of Songs Gone Past
Location: JAG Offices - Starbase Vanguard (47)
Timeline: 1200Hrs - June 12th, 2393

Captain Rabb looked down at the PADD in his hands as he realized his next call would be quite a challenge to deal with. Lt Commander Jiao Anderson-Smithson and her husband would be interesting to deal with so he decided to get this over with and contact them.

Meanwhile on the USS Tiger's Claw. Lieutenant Garry Smithson was walking beside his wife who was several inches shorter then he, himself was. Jiao glanced up at him. "So what are you in the mood for.?"

Smithson couldn't resist teasing his spouse. "Well, several things but they are not something that can be had in public and nor can they be rushed." as he grinned at her. "I do not recall you complaining last time."

"You are such a tease," Anderson-Smithson answered with a smile.

"You love it," Smithson answered with a soft chuckle. "Besides it could be-" he was saying before his commentary was interrupted by a call from the com system. "Bridge to Smithson and Anderson-Smithson?." came the voice of Commander Kristen McKnight who was the Executive officer of the USS Tiger's Claw.

Smithson regarded the worried and tired eyes of his spouse as he tapped his combadge. "Go ahead Commander, my wife is beside me."

"You two got an incoming call, its marked as personal but it's from the JAG Office at Starbase Vanguard, someone on the base wants a word."

"No worries Commander, would you mind routing the call to our quarters, we'll take the call there."

"No worries, take as long as you need, hopefully, it won't be too bad." McKnight almost sounded convincing but she herself knew that these things were almost never good.

Anderson-Smithson sighed. "Thanks, Commander. We'll be up to brief you on what JAG wants when we finish okay?"

"Ohhh no, eat your lunch first, then come back, your relief can handle things without you for a while." McKnight responded before she tapped out of the conversation by saying "Brief us later. Bridge out."

Smithson looked down at his spouse before she two went back into the turbolift and a short time later, the two were standing in the quarters they shared with their small collection of teenagers and toddlers they both called their children. Two of those toddlers were actually their grandkids, care of both Kimora and Sian who had both become pregnant at the same time last year.

Smithson tapped the wall display when suddenly the image of the great seal of the Federation appeared before them and then a face of a man wearing the Starfleet rank of Captain wearing security yellow. "Captain, what can we do for you?"

"I'm Captain Harmon Rabb. I've been asked to inform you both of a recent JAG investigation into a complaint that several Starfleet officers have had illegal actions taken against them for various reasons over the last several years. Admiral Nechayev is a prime suspect in these alleged allegations as is Admiral Bremer."

Anderson-Smithson blinked. "He had me demoted because of that barfight." She was referring to Admiral Bremer and not Nechayev.

"Yes, we know Jiao," Rabb answered with a smile. "We do not know who the complainant was, however, that detail is also unimportant at this point as Starfleet JAG looked into the matter as of last year and that investigation has now concluded," he explained.

"Wait... hang on. What does this mean?" Anderson-Smithson blurted out.

"Well I was getting to that," Rabb answered, a gentle smile on his lips. "The demotion has been removed as has the black record on your file. Your service record has been adjusted accordingly. Your Lt Commander's rank grade has had two years of seniority added to it." Rabb explained. "Your service time says that you are also due for a promotion to Commander and that notation has also been added to your file."

"I thought this was going to be bad news.." Anderson-Smithson answered in a soft tone of voice.

"If it were, it would be me explaining the situation and then asking me to let me defend you at whatever trial was coming your way," Rabb answered. "I have a reputation to uphold."

"Yes, they say you are very good at looking after families. Talon Yeager spoke of you and so did Torilla Yamaguchi if she wasn't married to Jake, I think she'd happily nail you."

"I will pretend I didn't hear that." Rabb chuckled softly. "Besides, it's nice to know that I am appreciated."

"Oh yes, my friends know of you and some know you by name," Anderson-Smithson commented.

"Well, I do what I can," Rabb answered. "Mister Smithson, I have some news for you too."

"Oh?" Smithson inquired.

"Yes, you might recall that little bit of business regarding that fight you had on the Roanoke and you had your security abilities removed without recompense?" Rabb explained. "A small matter of a fistfight you got into with a pilot officer named Morales?. I'm sorry I can't recall his callsign."

"What?" Smithson paused as he recalled the pilot before it came to him. "Ooh." he paused a moment as the incident came back to him. "Crosshairs was his name." he slowly nodded. "I remember now." he shifted his attention to his spouse who was watching him with concerned eyes. "It was right before you and I met in sickbay," he explained to Jiao, who nodded her head a moment later. "Ahh. So that explains why you got a broken arm and a good bollocking and he gets away with murder." Anderson-Smithson responded quietly.

Rabb nodded. "That matter was also looked at and Roanoke's commander was deemed as having been unduly unfair to you as you were doing your job and he was being belligerent. He has been issued a punitive letter of caution into his file and has had his rank suspended for one year as a result of said actions. You, however, are being issued a commendation for good behavior."

"Thank you, Captain, but. In all fairness, I'd forgotten about the incident."

"Well, you might have Garry, but others remembered," Rabb answered. "All of these changes will be taking effect immediately so you will no longer need to worry about the black mark that was formerly on your record Jiao."

Anderson-Smithson smiled. "Thank you, Captain, for letting us know."

"Of course. Now I've taken up enough of your time so I'm gonna get outta here and leave you two alone." Rabb smiled. "Good day, Rabb out." and with that, he disconnected, the screen went black before the great seal of the Federation appeared the second time.

Anderson-Smithson moved so she was now sitting on her husband's lap before she looked at him. "Do you believe that just happened?"

"No.. not really," he admitted. "You okay?" as he gently coiled his arms around her from behind.

"Mmmm." Anderson-Smithson grinned. "Yeah, we must celebrate." as she grinned at him, it was clear what the small Asian looking woman was thinking about.

"Now.. or later?" Smithson answered.

"Now, come on, we're alone and I want to make you moan my name as I have my way with you." Anderson-Smithson hopped off her husband as she took his hand and led him into the bedroom, once inside she began shedding her clothing as he did likewise. Smithson smiled as he climbed onto the bed as he beckoned his now nude wife to him. Anderson-Smithson smiled as she mounted her husband and their lips met in a gentle kiss.
