Mission 99: The Dreams of Songs Gone Past
Location: JAG Offices - Starbase Vanguard (47)
Timeline: 1130Hrs - June 12th, 2393
Captain Harmon Rabb walked back into his office as he sighed softly, several of the people on his list had already been contacted and he still had a few more people to contact and deal with. He sat down at his desk before he sat back, he sighed as he rubbed his forehead while he let out a sigh. "Computer. locate the USS Dreamcrusher?"
"The Dreamcrusher is presently deployed in the Utgarde System." the computer system answered in a simple comment.
"Alright, hail the Dreamcrusher, mark it as personal for their commanding officer," Rabb commented with a smile as he picked up a PADD before he went over to his wall monitor before he called up McKnight's file and changes that had been made.
Rabb tapped the wall monitor with his fingertips ever so lightly. "Please stand by, your call is being placed." the computer intoned in her soft feminine tone.
Rabb settled in for a moderately short wait when suddenly the image lit up with the great seal of the Federation before the face of Captain Daniel McKnight appeared on Rabb's wall monitor. "Captain Rabb. What can I do for you?" McKnight sounded curious.
"Captain McKnight. I've been asked to inform you of a complaint that was made about you and several others in Starfleet. JAG looked into the complaint that illegal actions were taken against yourself and several other people for various reasons." Rabb explained. "This investigation was recently completed and now I've been asked to break out the results for yourself and several others."
"Oh, I had no idea such an investigation was even being considered, let alone that it was underway or completed," McKnight answered, sounding confused. "So what was on the results?"
"Your file was illegally tampered with and former-Admiral Nechayev has had these additional charges leveled against her," Rabb answered. "She has another two dozen or so charges against her which she will face in the days ahead." Rabb suddenly smiled. "Oh the evidence is overwhelming but you did not hear that from me. She'll wish that she flew into a black hole after this shitstorm breaks." Rabb paused. "But you didn't hear that either."
"I'm sorry, you are breaking up Captain Rabb." McKnight smiled before he schooled his face back to his normal state.
"Right. Anyway, the investigation was concluded and you have been issued a commendation for your attempted actions on the USS San Fransisco. The personnel who were demoted and had actions taken against them will all be contacted separately by JAG and their legal status will be dealt with. You have held the rank of Captain since you were first promoted and have had your demotion removed from your file."
"Thank you."
"This means you are eligible for a rank adjustment to Division Admiral if you desire it."
McKnight paused, he had never entertained considering getting a promotion to that rank, it meant he would suddenly now outrank Zuko who had been assigned to command Starbase six oh nine but this meant that it would cause more instability and leave Dreamcrusher without her skipper and someone new would end up commanding her, a crew had been known to come apart after losing too many of their people so quickly. "No thank you, Captain Rabb, someday I would welcome that rank, but not today as Dreamcrusher needs me."
Rabb nodded as a smile graced his lips. "I understand. I'll mark your file that you are entitled to that rank should you desire it."
"Thank you, someday I will accept that promotion but not today," McKnight responded. "I need to get my command working again since I just lost my Executive officer to the Starbase. Celeste will be hard to replace."
"I understand where you are coming from. Your new posting would be a command position in the ninety-second fleet, several of those slots are still open." Rabb responded.
"I know but Dreamcrusher needs me more," McKnight answered with a smile. "Still, thanks for letting me know about things Captain Rabb. I really do appreciate the matter being handled."
"Of course Captain, that was all I wanted from you." Rabb smiled. "Thank you for your time."
"No worries, thank you for your candor and your efforts. McKnight out." and with that, the screen went black before the great seal of the Federation appeared before him, he smiled as he went to contact the next person on his lengthy to-do list.
