| Personal History | Garry Smithson was born in 2368 to Toni and Eric Smithson while they were both at the academy, mother and father had five children between them and Garry was their middle child. Smithson grew up during the war with the Dominion and the Iconian Gateway crisis, along with many other events that defined the late seventies and early eighties. Smithson joined Starfleet following his siblings but at a frat party, he found himself being date raped by one of the other men in the dorm, he didn't know who it was as he couldn't bring himself to report it. The pressures of dealing with being date raped finally got to him as his temper manifested itself over the next several months, Smithson started earning reprimand for violent behavior until he found out who it was. The two men got into a fight with Smithson landing the other guy in the med-center. Smithson had his revenge on his attacker after breaking both his legs and ensuring the man would never walk again. The Dean at the academy was sympathetic as he sent Smithson to his first assignment after graduation, however, a reprimand did appear on his record for brawling. April Yamaguchi was looking for Security Officers who had computer skills to assist in clearing out a den of iniquity and sin which had appeared on the USS Roanoke. Smithson was here less than three months before getting a very serious fight with one of the pilots, this event left him in the med-center. Smithson was moved from Tactical and Security to Operations, as punishment, so he could not carry a Phaser considering he got into a fight with one of the pilots. While he was badly beaten, his trauma came back with a vengeance as he refused to consider the pilot's position. Smithson was left with a burning need for revenge as he found himself despising all of the pilots on the USS Roanoke with an equal passion Smithson found himself working with Lieutenant JG Jiao Anderson as he found her to be more than a simply pretty face in the crowd. Quickly his personality began to flower under her gentle touch. However as he is a rape victim, his rage has become overpowering and, he has gone to the gym to bulk up in size. Ever since being assigned to the USS Roanoke, he added twenty pounds of muscle, to add to it, he also has taken some combat training classes on the holodeck. Smithson is a walking time bomb and it's only a matter of time before he explodes, but he knows this so he is taking some steps to deal with it but he needs to confront his demon, being raped left a horrific mark on him and he needs to come to terms with that. Smithson was stuck with assisting in repairs to the USS Roanoke after the accidental outbreak of tribbles aboard her. He helped in holding things together but he couldn't prevent the life support system from melting down due to damage from the tribbles. During the hanger deck fire, he was able to assist with the repairs to the ship, preventing USS Roanoke from destroying herself as he was assisting in Engineering when the explosion occurred. His actions helped stave off the destruction of the ship. He was awarded a commendation for his bravery and quick thinking along with many others who won the same accolades. The rest of his time aboard this ship was rather uneventful except for the Pineapple Incident where he actually got to seduce his ultimate desire. Lieutenant Jiao Anderson. She was reassigned to the USS Courageous while he remained on board the USS Roanoke before she was promoted to Chief Operations Officer where he was posted as Chief of Security. Now they could work together again and together why needed to face the after-effects of the Pineapple Incident. Both of them survived the destruction of the Courageous but he was promoted in the aftermath, his actions in ensuring that nobody was left behind, living or dead ensured his promotion and assignment as the Chief of Security on the Tigers Claw, a week after he arrived, he promoted to her and she accepted. Now the two live together on the USS Tiger's Claw as Jiao has just had a second baby, he also took in her other children's babies so they could go off to the academy or handle whatever needs to be done. Smithson has finally begun to settle down and face his demons, his spouse at his side. |
