Lt Commander Torilla Yamaguchi smiled at her middle child as he had the look of a new father about him. "Hows Savannah and Gideon doing?"

Gabriel smiled at his mother. "Mother and child are doing good, almost too good... but you know Savannah, has a rock hard constitution and she'll be up and about like nothing happened in a couple of weeks then she can lose the baby fat she picked up.."

Torilla chuckled softly. "I remember what losing that weight was like for me after I got done having you two..."

"Don't you mean you three?" Gabriel replied evenly, confusion in his voice.

"Rachael was a surprise, more then anything else." Torilla explained as she caught sight of General Dartt nearby. "General... what can I do for you?"

Jewel smiled, "Hey Torilla," Jewel smiled. She looked at the young man standing with her. "I hear congratulations are in order," Jewel smiled as she walked up to them.

Torilla smiled. "Indeed..." she responded. "Savannah didn't tell anyone she went into labour about six hours beforehand and decided to go to the party but her son was impatient and arrived early." she chuckled softly.

Gabriel looked at his mother. "Indeed sir. My son is presently with his mother as the medics insist on keeping her under lock and key." he commented. "I told her she'd be out and about once they were satisfied she had healed from it and not before." he explained. "Gideon however is in excellent health."

Jewel smiled, "I bet he is a little cutie," Jewel said as she placed a hand on her growing stomach. She thought about her unborn son she was expecting and couldn't wait for him to be born. "Cherish him, they do grow up very quick." Jewel said with a smile as she then thought about her twins. But didn't let it get to her.

Gabriel smiled. "I intend to Jewel." he commented as he regarded the other woman. "Savannah is saying she's never been so adored... the medics are taking good care of her and Gideon."

Torilla noticed something wasn't quite right with the General but she didn't comment on it, preferring to leave it alone. "They come home in two days time after the nurses decide she's well enough." she commented. "make sure you two thank those Doctors and nurses for their work..." she added.

She smiled, "So what are you guys out doing today?" she asked as she looked at them. "Oh, Torilla just meet your Husband Jake a little while ago, he seems like he is a good person and a good officer." Jewel said looking at them.

Torilla smiled. "Jake is a good man." she responded. "he gave me so much."

"Oh you guys coming to the wedding right?" Jewel asked looking at them hoping they would be there. She felt nervous especially with her biological father coming. "I am feeling nervous, not so much for the wedding but someone that is coming to the wedding." Jewel stated looking at them.

Gabriel shared a look with his mother as they both nodded. "Of course, Savannah will be there too.... will we be guests or do you have extra spaces on the wedding party you need to fill?"

"Well your will be guests as most of Starbase 400." Jewel said with a smile, "I just would like to know I have support," Jewel said with a smile. "Can I ask a question," Jewel asked looking at Torilla.

Torilla regarded the other woman. "Okay so I don't need to run around for last minute wedding drama, Oh good." she replied with a light smile. "You never need to worry if you have support..." she added. "sure... whats your question?"

Gabriel raised an eyebrow. "Should I give you guys a moment?" he asked Jewel.

"Oh your fine, you can stay it really isn't personal." Jewel said with a smile. "I guess I am just trying to put my own mind at rest and know I made a good decision." Jewel said to Gabriel, "After finding out who my biological father was when I found my half sister Janice 10 years ago. I got angry, and have held a grudge against him for leaving me so young. But, this morning I contacted him after so long." She started.

"I guess I needed to hear things from him, so after we talked a bit. I gave up that grudge and he is coming to my wedding." She added. "My heart says I did the right thing, but I guess I am just afraid. I mean I would like to get to know my father and build a relationship with him....lets face it he is getting old and probably doesn't have that much time left." She stated as she kept going on. "Do you think I made the right choice?" she asked a silly question.

At times Torilla felt positively ancient and today was turning into one of those days. "Well... you acted and said things with the best information that you had available at the time." she commented. "that's not bad... its just that you made a rash choice." she explained. "maybe he made mistakes as well about what happened." she added. "who knows.." she then shrugged.

Gabriel then added. "At the end of the day Jewel, the question is not, did you made the right choice..." he commented as he glanced at his mother "but did you do the right thing at the right time... your father is still your father because he clearly accepted your invitation and he wants to build a relationship with you as much as you want one with him... otherwise you wouldn't be asking that question."

She nodded, "You know your wise for your age," Jewel said to Gabriel. "I mean that in a good way." She added. "Maybe I just needed to hear that," Jewel said with a smile. "Thanks its appreciated a lot." she added.

"I think I did make a good decision in forgiving my father for his mistakes and I learned it wasn't all his fault. My mother refused him back in our lives, now I understand. I am just nervous I guess to see him, last time I saw him was when I was child." Jewel stated.

Gabriel smiled at the larger woman. "Thank you. I had good mentors.." he indicated his mother as Torilla blushed softly as a smile creped across the older woman's face. "May I ask what happened to cause all of this to begin with?" she inquired. "its okay if you don't want to talk about it..."

"With my father?" Jewel asked.

"Well, when I was very young my father left. My mother told me he was dead, to her he was. My father was a JAG Officer and you know how busy they are. I didn't know the truth until recently and when I was assigned to Hawkeye Island Marine Base on Raeya III in 2380 I meet Colonel Janice Fultain the CO. Later we found out that we are half sisters, she told me my father was very much alive. Also found out I have a half brother, my father wasn't a saint, Janice is the oldest her mother is Emmiline Fultain-Chricton. I am the middle child, and my brother is the youngest Simon Chricton IV I don't know his mother. I only seen him a few times," Jewel took a breathe.

"I was upset, hurt and angry at him. Like I said I didn't know the truth as my mother wasn't truthful. I didn't want nothing to do with him at the time. I guess after not having him in my life." She added as she looked at them.

"I guess now that I know what really happened, I can forgive him. I wish I done it sooner, but at least I am wanting that chance to know my father." She added with a sigh.

"It doesn't matter..." Torilla replied quietly. "So long as you forgive him...that is what matters..."

She nodded and decided to change the subject. "So, are you guys up to today." She said as she looked at them.

"Mostly just waiting." Gabriel responded as Torilla smiled. "I have duty in an hour." she paused. "you?"

She looked at the time, "Speaking of which I have to get on duty," Jewel laughed as she had lost track of time. "Well it was nice talking to the both of you and again Congrats on the little guy." Jewel stated as she looked at them then headed off.

Gabriel nodded. "Thank you."

Torilla watched the other woman depart in silence.
