Mission: Mission 6: Q-ualty Time
Location: Various Locations - Starbase 400
Timeline: 1500Hrs - February 11th, 2389

Captain Jake Yamaguchi had boarded the station the previous evening about an hour or so after his only son's wife had given birth to her own long awaited child and now, thus it was that Jake was settling into the new role of 'Grandfather' to a new infant who someday would be calling him 'gramps' or 'grampa' or 'Grandad'.

He was having breakfast of two fried eggs, hashbrowns and toast. "General..." he commented as he rose to his feet, he hated being interrupted at breakfast or any meal for that matter but he bit his tongue as he looked at the woman. "What can I do for you?

Jewel smiled, "Morning Captain, just walking around the promenade for awhile." Jewel stated looking at him. "Need the exercise," Jewel said with a small laugh.

"Ahh... Well I find I think better on a full stomach... would you care to join me for a light breakfast?"

"Sure," Jewel said as she got something light to eat as she already ate earlier. She sat down and looked at him, "I am Jewel Dartt by the way." Jewel said with a smile.

"Jake Yamaguchi," he answered with a smile. "You already met my wife and children..." he commented as he smiled, clearly the happy and proud father.
"the nurses kicked me out of the infirmary earlier... Savannah was happy to see me but the Nurse on duty was not."

Jewel smiled, "I bet he is a little cutie," Jewel smiled. "Congrats," Jewel added with a smile. "Your wife is a nice lady and from what I have seen a good officer." Jewel said as she looked at him.

Jake smiled as he regarded her. "Gabriel and his wife did good with Gideon." he commented. "Gideon is quiet as he lies there and watches everything...." he paused as he ate a mouthful of food. "Mmm... Torilla is a good woman, she gave me more then I could have ever imagined.... I can't imagine my life without her in it..."

She smiled as she thought about her upcoming wedding to David. "I know what you mean, since I meet David I haven't been happier then I have been with him in years. I am looking forward to our wedding," Jewel added as she smile.

"Love like that is precious." Jake replied with a smile. "It took me and Torilla several months after we met to realize it was okay for us to start dating, those first few dates laid the cement for our lives together."

Jewel nodded, "Indeed." Jewel stated as she took a bit of food. "So you coming to the wedding? I'd be honored if you would." Jewel asked with a smile.

Jake raised an eyebrow. "Of course. I'll be there. I so love weddings." he replied with a smile.

She smiled, "David is a good person, has helped me through a very tough time, he always been by my side and helped me get through it." Jewel said with a smile she hasn't been this happy in years, and it felt good.

"When I first came to the station again after resigning my Command and commission with Starfleet, after finding out I had a rare type of bone cancer...the kind my mother died from as they found it too late and it spread. The treatment basically killed her." Jewel stated looking at him. "I was depressed and didn't know how to handle it, but luckly they caught it in the early stages." Jewel stated.

"I meet David and he was there for me helped me through it and stuck by my side. I ended up loosing my right leg after they started Chemo. Instead of it killing the cells it for some reason multiplied the cells and basically killed my leg. The doctors tried saving it but they couldn't. Now I have a prosthetic leg." Jewel stated, "I just never meet someone who could make me feel whole again after my previous marriage failed." Jewel explained as she probably was talking to much.

"But since he came into my life, I feel whole, happy more then I have ever been." Jewel stated looking at him. "Sorry I sometimes talk to much for my own good." Jewel said with a soft chuckle.

Jake raised an eyebrow. "That is not a bad thing..." he smiled. "Its part of what makes you... you."

She nodded and finished her food. "Indeed," Jewel said as she looked at him. "Well It's been nice talking to you, I am going to finish my work out." Jewel stated as she stood up with a smile.

"Indeed General... have a good day." Jake responded.

She smiled and left the Captain and started her workout again.
