Mission: Mission 6: Q-ualty Time
Location: Various Locations - Starbase 400
Timeline: 2000Hrs - February 10th, 2389

The sound of a transporter energizing was heard as a woman's voice gently encouraged the second woman in the group. "You're doing great... and breathe, focus on my voice Savannah.... and two and three and breathe."

"God this hurts..." Savannah groaned as she felt someone pick her up, it was Torilla who was flexing her strength as she held the smaller woman in her arms. "Where do you want her Doctor?"

"Birthing Room Two," Tressa said, leading the way. She and two nurses began to prep the mother-to-be.

"Okay." as she heard the door open and in came her son, a look of deep concern on his face as he looked at his mother who was carrying his wife in her arms. "Mom.?"

"She's fine sweetie, your timing couldn't be better, now get over here and help me calm her."

Gabriel didn't bother answering as he came right over. "I'm here Savv..."

"Hey..." the svelte woman responded as Torilla gently set her down at their destination. "Alright... Tressa, how do you plan to do this?"

Gabriel clearly wanted to be there as Torilla added. "Rachael took Elizabeth to go pester your kids for a while... so they'll have stuff to do," she explained to Tressa. "Hopefully Xavier and Kaylee won't mind."

The bed was glowing beneath the woman and an image of her torso was on the monitor. "We're looking great, the baby is in position and she is almost fully dilated." She put another pillow behind Savannah's head. "When were you going to tell someone that you were in labor?" Tressa asked as she applied a hypo to her lower abdomen. The woman looked visibly relieved as the analgesic took effect.

Savannah paused as she looked at the Doctor who was much larger then she was. "Well... umm... I didn't want to ruin the party..." she sighed. "It seems I was wasting my efforts."

Torilla smiled. "Gabe, you with us?"

"MMm... Oh, Sorry Mom... Doctor, what do you need me to do?"

"Why don't you come over here and hold her hand? You are about to be parents, you know," Tressa said with a teasing smile. One of the nurses moved out of the way so that he could be close to her.

Gabriel came over as he gently took Savannah's hand in his. "This is all your fault," she commented with a smile.

"Yes, but I didn't hear you complaining that night..." Gabriel responded as he brushed some hair out of her blue eyes. "You didn't know?"

"I thought it was back pain and then when I think my water broke when I was in the shower... but I read that labor can take hours or even days so I wasn't overly alarmed by it." the Polynesian woman replied quietly. "I was going to go party then go to the infirmary to make sure everything was alright."

"Savannah. You should have come straight here and skipped the party." Gabriel commented quietly. "How's she doing Doctor?

Torilla meanwhile was standing back as she observed her son, daughter and soon to be grandson as he was on his way.

Tressa was watching the monitor as she ran a tricorder over Savannah's belly. "Fully dilated, she'll be crowning any minute. Let's get you in a sitting position."

Savannah slowly sat up as she groaned softly. "Gabe... you're having the next one.." she whispered as Gabriel gently held her hand in his. "Easy Savv, you're doing great. Just keep breathing."

"Crowning now," the doctor said. "Can you push for me Savannah?"

Savannah sighed as she felt her muscles squeezing and pushing out her son as she heard an infant start screaming as she sighed softly as she heard what the nurse was doing and saying but she was more focused on her newborn infant son, all the other concerns to her were secondary.

"Nicely done, he's beautiful," Tressa said, placing the baby on his mother's belly. The nurse prepared the umbilicus, tying it two places then handing a laser scalpel to Gabriel. Torilla watched her son cut the cord that had bound him to his mother.

"Your son is now a separate being," the nurse announced as she cleaned him gently.

Gabriel smiled as a smile appeared across Torilla's face as she recalled when she had been sitting in Savannah's position, once upon a time.

Savannah smiled as she gazed upon her newborn son for the first time as she gently accepted him from the nurse who had gently wrapped him in a blanket as she gently held him close to her as Gabriel looked down at his son. "Hey there, little guy.."

"Well done, Savannah. How are you feeling? Any nausea?" Tressa asked.

Savannah blinked as she turned to the Doctor. "I'll be okay..." she whispered softly as she gently handed her son off to his father. "Gabe... did we finish selecting names?"

"Nope.." he admitted. "We never got around to it..." he added as Torilla came over. "He's beautiful," she commented to her son.

"Thanks for being here Mom." Gabriel smiled down at his son as he handed him off to Torilla who accepted him gently. "Hey, there little guy... It's so good to meet you at last," she said in flawless Halanian. "We welcome you into our home and hearts," she added before she handed him back to his mother.

Savannah smiled as she accepted her son. "Gabe.. names..?"

Gabriel considered it. "Gideon"

Savannah smiled. "A good name.... my son, henceforth you are known by Gideon Yamaguchi." she looked at Tressa as Torilla stood nearby as she slipped an arm around her son's shoulders. "So.. Dad, hows it feel?"

"Ask me tomorrow... Grandma."

Torilla chuckled softly. "Come on. Let mom and son have some time alone together... Sav's earned it and she needs some rest... Let the nurses do their thing and you, and I can go for a cup of coffee...."

"Sounds good mom.," Gabriel replied with a smile. "I still can't believe I'm a father.."

"Oh, it'll exhaust you and Savannah in ways you can't yet imagine but.... for now, enjoy this time...." Torilla watched as her son thanked the Doctors and nurses involved for their efforts in bringing Gideon into the world.
