Location: Various Locations - USS Coral Sea
Timeline: 0900Hrs - June 6th, 2393

Captain T'Nae Duval was sitting in her chair quietly, but she was a seething mass of emotions and contradictions, she did not let any of her inner turmoil for her missing child display on her face as she had a job to do and she was going to take care of matters that needed to be done. Her husband was seated to her left and while his presence was a comfort to her, he had no real authority on her bridge on any level whatsoever, he got around it by simply being there for moral support and being present for his wife. He knew that she was not only angry, that also she was on the verge of losing her control.

T'Nae regarded her new first officer and in truth, he just didn't seem like the average Klingon she had ever dealt with, she had read about Commander Noq't from others and while he had the credibility for command, he had never held a command posting before and it was now up to her to try and forge some sort of relationship with him but she knew the real reason he was here, it was to supoort the unusual family he had helped create with a married female couple among her senior staff which T'Nae thought was odd but she was not about to protest or complaion of how others did their relationships. Considering how she was a Vulcan who was mated to a human and had children and grandchildren with the same human.

T'Nae breathed in and out softly but there was no mistaking that this Vulcan female was highly agitated and was eager to get rolling. "Commander, where are we with getting underway?" she inquired.

"I'm not sure," Noq't replied. He turned to his com. "Bridge to engineering: Is there an issue down there?" He asked.

The answer came back. "I recall telling you people that this ship was not ready for service.!" came a resigned sigh, the voice was clearly female. "The engines have failed. The intermix is not fully calibrated." Ajal explained. "I honestly do not know how this ship made it out of spacedock. Its a miracle." the Klingon female added.

"Chief, whatever it takes. get this ship working. I don't care how you do it, just do it!" T'Nae snarled back.

"We're working on the problem as we speak Captain," Ajal answered in a reasoned tone of voice. "The good news is that Warp and Slipstream are both fine. The problems are in the impulse engine generators." she paused as another person said something over the comline. "Then yank the fucking thing and replace it." there was a second pause. "Right, the impulse engine generators have glitches in them. I'm guessing its a software issue as the engines were working when we left the dock."

"Okay, relax Ajal." Noq't tried to calm her down. "Think like an engineer and be thorough. Report in when you get it fixed. Bridge out." Noq't then looked at T'Nae. "Captain, as a long-serving engineer I can tell you that panicking will not get the engines fixed any faster." He coolly told her.

T'Nae seethed. "I want to get this dance started," she responded quietly.

"I know," Duval commented to his wife. "But getting angry T'Nae will not help T'Kela or us. Besides, your people know their jobs so let them prove their worth." he said in a quiet tone to his wife.

T'Nae sighed. "I will have words with the commander of Coral Sea's constuction crews. He assured me that this ship was ready for service and I believed him." she paused. "He will not like what I havwe to say about this."

"Yes, you will." Noq't replied. "Right now, let Ajal do her job."

T'Nae wanted to scream, it showed too as she fought to control her emotions.

Meanwhile the Engineers in Main Engineering. Ajal was regarding the display before her, she looked downright angry as she tapped the display once. "Ajal to Team four, take a look at the starboard impulse engine regular while you're in that area," she commented.

"Willco skipper we're on it." came the unexpected answer. "Wait... We've found another glitch, it's in a sensor unit." the same person added a moment later.

Ajal raised an eyebrow. "Go on Chief?" she inquired.

"We've reset the system, try it now" the man sounded almost hopeful that he had resolved all the words issues and had cured aging.

"Okay." Ajal turned her attention to the display as she began tapping her fingers into the display, not even her children angered her like this, her fourth child was really misbehaving and she was getting angry with it. "I am starting to really hate this clunker of a ship," she growled softly as Ajal tapped the display when the system suddenly came back to life. "Team Four. Well done. We're now at fifty percent power, go check the port impulse engine regulator, I think you have found our issue."

"Copy, on our way skipper." the man responded.

"Chief, if this is the issue.. I owe you and your team a couple of days off."

"That's if this is the only issue we find skipper. We'll get back to you. McMillan out." and with that, the com system went dead.

Meanwhile back on the bridge. Duval knew that his wife had a volatile temper and he knew he had minutes to focus it but he did not need to cause an issue on his wife's bridge. "Can we assist the search while we sit here?" he asked.

"We can start doing long-range scans and we can organize the search parties now," Noq't replied to Duval's question.

T'Nae nodded. "Also inform Dreamcrusher that we're having an engine casualty and will be unable to roll out." when she suddenly rose to her feet. "Noq't, the bridge is yours." and with that, she stomped off into the ready room that was on the left side of the bridge.

Duval watched his wife leave the bridge. "Let her be. She'll calm down." as he sighed softly, just then the turbolift doors opened and out walked the smallest member of her family but in her eyes, she was the cutest Yamaguchi. "Hello, gentlemen. Where's the skipper?" the small female inquired, she wore a medical overcoat that was a medium blue which hid much of her figure and she held a PADD in her hands.

"She's in the ready room Doctor. I'd honestly recommend that you leave her be." Duval commented in a gentle tone of voice.

Yamaguchi regarded the new person before her. "Why do you say that?" the small female pressed for specifics.

"Because Ms. Yamaguchi. I can honestly say I know T'Nae and how she thinks as well as she herself does." Duval answered. "I'm her spouse."

"Ahh." Yamaguchi smiled. "So you are the legendary sergeant major I keep hearing about." Yamaguchi grinned at him. "The one with business insights better then the Ferengi and you were able to make a business from nothing... Several of my extended relatives spoke at length about you as you impressed a few of them. Torilla credits you with saving her marriage. Elizabeth says the same and Savanah said that nobody cooks a chicken pot pie as real as you do."

"I'm just doing my job." Duval paused. "Anyway, excuse me, you two. I'm going to go and help calm T'Nae." and with that, he rose to his feet and departed the bridge a moment later. Autumn sat down in the chair that he had just vacated as she regarded Noq't in silence a moment. "Red suits you," she said aloud a moment later, with a gentle smile on her lips.

"Thank you, Doctor. I hope I can live up to expectations." He replied to her.

The small female regarded him for a moment. "You'll do great," she answered with a soft smile. "You not live up to the stereotype."

Noq't smiled at her but said nothing.

Yamaguchi regarded him in silence as she handed him the PADD in her small hands. "The present status of the crew," she explained why she was handing the PADD as she handed the PADD to the father of her children that she shared with her wife, the situation was quite complicated as Autumn and Ajal had both had children with Noq't.

"Thank you" Noq't replied as he looked over the PADD.

Yamaguchi settled into the chair on the left as she shifted her ass in the chair. "Comfy," she commented as she sat back a moment later. "I do still need to see a couple of members of the senior staff for the physicals. The skipper, yourself, Ms. LaMonica and myself."

"Alright, Doctor," Noq't replied with a smile. "Now, however, is not the time. We have lost sheep to return to the flock."

"Indeed we do. Medical is ready for whatever comes." Yamaguchi answered before she hopped out of her chair, she then accepted the PADD back and then departed the bridge. A few minutes went by in silence before the door to the ready room opened and out came T'Nae Duval, looking much calmer than when she had entered it earlier. Following her was Duval. "Status number one?" the Vulcan inquired. "Any changes?"

As Noq't was getting ready to answer a message was coming in. "Patch it through," Noq't ordered.

The Intelligence officer turned. "Heart of the Tiger says they have Captain Sternwald in custody and they request we check out the area around Mesquite Station, out to a range of two hundred miles in all directions from the base," she explained. "That area is hard to scan sir, there are rock formations and unusual ore deposits interfering."

T'Nae nodded as she sat down in her chair. "Answer affirmative, helm take us there and let's peel back this mystery for ourselves." she paused. "Number one, ask the CAG to prepare all of his warbirds for a low-level pass of that entire continent. I want to chart everything and... I hope we find our missing marines."

"Understood Captain." Replied Noq't. "If I may though, looking at a map around Mesquite Station there is a large depression nearby. Now, we have scanned the planet several times and found nothing. That depression though would be difficult to scan. May I suggest we at least first start our search in the depression?"

"Yes. We will start there." the Vulcan answered. "Bring all SAR teams to stand by and ask the CAG to drop his people in there."
