Mission: Mission 112: The Heart of a Truth Long Lost
Location: Various Locations - USS Spirit of Winter
Timeline: 1030Hrs - November 1st, 2393

Lieutenant Savannah Yamaguchi was sitting behind the desk that she and her husband had both turned into a study in their quarters. Both of them had the day off as Savanah had requested the day for both so they could tend to a familial issue. Commander Sheridan had agreed, wanting to keep matters quiet from two of his most highly prized officers. Now Sav was looking at the display before her. "So... Kimora Reeves... What sort of a woman are you?" she asked aloud. Part of it was an indication to her husband that she was busy and the other was her asking herself if she was truly serious about the matter before her. She was unsure if she was even ready for this but she knew she needed to address the matter now rather then let it fester for any longer, she had already waited so long and she wasn't prepared to wait any longer.

Savannah tapped the display once as the face of a woman appeared, the face of her biological mother. "So... That's what you look like..." the young woman commented aloud. The comment was loud enough to attract her husband who came into the study with two drinks in his hands. He gently placed one in front of his wife in silence before he looked at her. As if asking her if she wished for him to join her. Gabriel knew that this was a journey that his wife had long-delayed and was only now starting and he was unsure if she wished to undertake this effort alone or with his assistance.

"Have a seat, Gabe..." Savanah said quietly. As if she had read his thoughts. "Gabriel Yamaguchi meet Kimora Reeves... My-" she paused as she shifted her attention from the woman on the screen to her husband. "The contender for the crown."

Yamaguchi raised an eyebrow as he regarded his wife, he knew how she felt on the matter at hand and what's more, he knew that Savanah was one of the most stubborn women he'd ever known. "She's a looker... You have her eyes," he commented quietly.

Savanah turned to regard her husband in silence before she spoke. "I've just called up her service record. I am not interested in my biological dad. Considering how old Kimora was when she had me, she was a cadet at the academy and she had me in her second year, this means she had not planned to have me or she was forced to give me up because her mother was convinced she wasn't ready for motherhood."

Gabe regarded his wife with a nod before he turned his attention to the file before them both. He raised an eyebrow. "This is interesting... She was a cadet when she had you." as he sighed softly. "Had she had the support you had, she would never have given you up."

Savannah paused as she glanced at her husband. "Where does it say that?" she asked gently.

Gabe gently touched the display. "Here," he commented. "Her father apparently dropped the heavy end of the hammer on his wife for it," he added

"Yet when I was in the same boat with you for the same reason... Your folks stood behind me... Your mom calls me her child..."

"She does... As far as mom is concerned, you are one of her own." Gabe answered quietly. "I guess that's one of the things you and mom have in common. Except you were unwanted by your mother, she was unwanted by her entire species..." he paused a moment. "I'm not sure how I'd cope in either situation," he added quietly.

"Life can be hard enough and some people have to make it harder," Savannah commented quietly. "It says that her mother demanded she abort the pregnancy or be disowned."

"Yeah. That's just being unreasonable. I assume Kimora felt strongly about that... and when her dad found out. He divorced his wife and had her committed to the psych ward." Gabe commented, without a smile on his face. "Yet my family were firmly in your corner when we had Gideon while we were at the Academy ourselves," he commented. "I can't help but feel there is a certain irony there."

Despite the warmth in the room. Savanah shivered. "Had she had the support I did, would she still have made the choice to give me up?"

Gabe gently took his wife's hands in his own. "Who can say... What I know... Is this..." as he regarded his wife. "In Savanah I trust. All others pay cash."

Savanah slowly smiled as she rested her head on her husband's shoulder. Gabe gently slid one arm around her torso. "Maybe she was forced to make a different choice."

"She was... and I ended up in foster care as a result. She later got married and then fucked over by her husband with children two and three." Savannah sighed softly. "No wonder she never came back for me."

"Maybe we can ask her that, when we talk with her," Gabe answered quietly.

Savanah regarded her husband. "You think we're ready to talk with her... That it's time?"

"I do," Gabe answered. "But be gentle with her... and I'll be right beside you anyway."
