Danger Close - Part One

Mission: Mission 105: The Mirror, Shattered
Location: Various Locations - USS Charal
Timeline: 0900Hrs - September 26th, 2393

Commander Victoria Yamaguchi stepped off of the turbolift as she carried a PADD in her long fingers. The tall female was back in her old uniform which was a crop top and a pair of pants, her midriff was completely bare, this showcased her muscular physique, she looked sexy and she looked downright dangerous. She located her quarry as she nodded to Captain Ariel Gilmore. "The updates to the tactical department and the new security regulations you requested." as she handed the older woman before her the PADD that she had been holding. As she did, she took a moment to admire Gilmore who was also wearing the new imperial uniform, she found that the Captain looked rather fetching while wearing it as Yamaguchi almost swooned over the other woman.

Gilmore looked into the eyes of Victoria Yamaguchi as she smiled, she could tell exactly what Yamaguchi was thinking and how she was being as subtle as a large Earth cat in heat over the subject, she had not had anyone admiring her physique in quite some time so she did not mind the other woman's attention. Yamaguchi slowly smiled back, knowing she had been caught checking out the other woman but not caring either before she indicated the ready room door with a nod of her head. Gilmore's smile widened as she nodded, clearly, she wasn't messing around.

Commander Ethan Duval was not present on the bridge and neither was Ouros Yamaguchi, the two were busy handling other tasks around the ship.
Yamaguchi regarded Gilmore in silence as she waited for her next assignment. "Thank you, Commander. Where are we with the phasers?" Gilmore shifted her legs, uncrossing and then recrossing them.

"The phaser aiming issue has been resolved, I have two of the guys going through the target acquisition software as we speak Captain," she explained. "I also have reason to believe that it's an issue that's present in the missile targeting system as well, it's coming across to me like a software glitch," she commented. "It's on page two of the report sir," Yamaguchi added.

"How so?" Gilmore inquired of the taller female before her. before Gilmore finished reading page one before she moved onto page two, she quickly found what Yamaguchi was talking about and now she could see and understand the information she was being told. "Ahh, it makes sense to me now."

"Because whenever I access the system, it seems to really slow down. I would not be surprised if there was a protocol worm in there somewhere that was missed, its been slowly infiltrating its way into our firmware." Yamaguchi answered the Captain's statement with an explanation.

Gilmore nodded her head. "Alright, alert all commands present of your findings and prepare accordingly."

"Yes Captain," Yamaguchi answered in a flat, even tone of voice. "Also I know where you got it from," she added. "From your encounter with the Simpson and the treasonous actions of her commander. Jean-Pierre Carey." there was something in Yamaguci's tone of voice. "I believe he's still being processed for Court Marshal of the events in question," she added.

"JAG is still building a case against him..." Gilmore answered with a nod. "What else?" she added a moment later.

"I need your signature for two consignments of missiles sir. I can't call the Peerless and tell them to send their stocks over. They may not need their missiles but protocol being what it is... I guess I'm still a slave to the system."

"No more so than anyone else Commander." Yamaguchi's response was answered by Commander Mesai Emble, an older human-looking male with a skin tone so dark that it was almost black. His imperial uniform made him look downright intimidating. "Besides, you are still wanted in sickbay so I can poke and prod you."

"I'll be down shortly Doctor," Yamaguchi answered as Gilmore signed the PADD, she then handed it back to the other woman. "Take care of the missile shortage issues, Commander." she paused. "When we go on the mission. You'll be serving as a second officer and mission advisor. Do you feel up to serving as our diplomatic officer too?" Gilmore inquired.

"Yes Captain, I don't feel right taking Lieutenant Aquilla's slot from her, she earned it and she's chomping at the bit to do something," Yamaguchi added. "Also the new uniforms are being issued to the crew, I have heard many people grumbling about them. I can't say I blame them..."

"Alright, go find her and then brief her on what we might or might not find... I want the tactical department to be ready for anything..." Gilmore explained her rationale.

"They will be ready," Yamaguchi answered. "I'll go see Lieutenant Aquilla after the Doctor has his way with me," she added a moment later.

There were a couple of snickers and a few chuckles at the double entendre. Gilmore smiled which showed Yamaguchi that the other woman had a sense of humor.

The nearby turbolift opened and out walked a human male, he looked well-muscled and massively built, considering he was wearing a yellow shirt, this meant he was either security or engineering. Yamaguchi paused, as she noted that the color of his uniform was orange and not red, this meant he was the ship's Chief Engineer. "Commander." she addressed him, he nodded back to her. "Commander," he answered. "Captain, engineering reports they are ready to go, with the exception of the protocol worm we found."

"You too hmmm?" Yamaguchi asked the massive human being beside her.

"Alright, you two, go deal with this protocol worm after you, Victoria, deal with your issue in sickbay," Gilmore answered in a tone that indicated the conversation was over and it had outlived its usefulness, Gilmore rose to her feet. "First, however, Victoria. Join me in the ready room, please. I do have another matter I'd like to hammer out with you." Gilmore kept her voice low as she moved into the ready room

"Aye Captain." and with that, Yamaguchi turned and departed from the bridge,

Doctor Mesai Emble likewise departed the bridge in silence.
