Posted on Sat Mar 21st, 2020 @ 8:43am by Captain Tolian Brevik & Commander Nathan Hammerson & Commander T'Arla Hammerson & Lieutenant Colonel Pollux "Jetfire" Knoxx & Colonel Hadar "Jem" J'Herim & Chief Sergeant Kerric F'enu

Mission: Mission 98: Building Our New Home
Location: Various Locations - Starbase Vanguard / USS Solemn Pennance
Timeline: 1400Hrs - September 21st, 2393

Captain Tolian Brevik was sitting in his office, doing paperwork, not like there was a lot of it as the USS Solemn Pennance was stuck in drydock, undergoing maintenance and repairs, but the actual reason the ship was dealing with her enforced stay was due to the mutiny that had happened aboard her almost a month earlier.

Brevik sighed as he had been forced to deal with several transfers of personel who had been involved during the mutiny and others who were coming in to replace them. Brevik knew full well that he had visitors who would be arriving shortly as he read the one PADD that he held in his hands while he was looking at the details of the crew biographies for the new personel coming in. The doorbell beeped at him.

"Enter." Brevik placed the PADD down onto the tabletop as he rose to his feet to greet his guest. The doors parted and in came a rather large and well built human male and beside him was a slender Vulcan woman who looked rather small in comparison to him. "Hello, Captain. Commander Natham Hammerson reporting for duty sir." as the Vulcan female added. "I greet you. I am T'Arla," she added. "Doctor T'Arla Hammerson, reporting for duty Captain," she added.

"Welcome aboard Commander. Doctor. I just finished reading your service records not that long ago. I was not expecting anyone to be reassigned due to recent events, however, I should have expected it." Brevik sighed softly. "Have a seat, you two." he paused as he waited for the two of them to take their seats. "Commander. You'll be having to help with the clean up of the events in question. Your predecessor leaves a department in need of some tender care and affection." he decided to address Hammerson first as is new role will be more complex and complicated than that average Starfleet security officer's job.

"I will help where I can sir," Hammerson answered with a nod. "I read about the events in the news and I was briefed on the events in question and what Starfleet believes lead up to those events," he added as he regarded his new boss.

"I, myself, wrote many of those reports," Brevik answered. "I agreed with Starfleet's opinion that this was Human Defense League drama that spilled over to us, they were looking to steal a ship or several. The traitor got started a little too early and the rest went to ground on the matter." he paused. "We will need to keep an eye out for them and when unmasked, we will deal with them." he turned to T'Arla. "Your job will be to rebuild the entire medical department. Starfleet let me keep my chief counselor but I lost everyone else to various assignments, promotions, and the sixteen medical staff who are presently under arrest for treason and various other crimes that they stand accused of." Brevik explained with a soft sigh.

The Vulcan female nodded her head, accepting what she was being told without protest, argument or question. "I understand sir, I will begin immediately."

Brevik knew that once motivated, many Vulcan's were hard to stop or even slow down so he opted to kick these two out and move on. "Very well, thanks for coming in, welcome aboard... On your way." and with that, they both rose to their feet and departed in silence.

Brevik paused a moment before he picked up the next PADD, before the doorbell beeped at him a second time, as before he rose to greet his guests. "Enter" and in walked a small framed Bajoran woman with a perky smile, she wore her uniform well and she made the uniform look good while doing so. "Lt Colonel Hadar J'Herim, reporting for duty sir."

"Welcome aboard Colonel." Brevik addressed her as he indicated the chairs before him. "Take a seat and I'll try my best to answer any issues, concerns or problems you might have."

"Yessir." the small Bajoran slid her lithe form into one of the chairs. "I read about the mutiny, that's why I'm here to replace Ironhide, as his name was tainted in the drama... Wasn't it?" she phrased the last as a question, her dusky eyes seeking out those of her new boss.

"I'm afraid so. Now do not misunderstand me, Colonel. Ironhide has a special place in my heart, I recommended him for the Christopher Pike Medal of Valor. Admiral Duval concurred with me. Now. I hope Starfleet agrees with me." Brevik explained evenly. "He was the one who led the effort to deal with the mutiny and settle the matter for me and my crew. I owe him a great debt."

Hadar smiled as she considered it. "Ironhide was a good man... My old command will serve him well." the small Bajoran explained evenly. "I hope that my assignment here will prove to be less traumatic to you and the crew."

"Anything would be better than a mutiny." Brevik joked in response.

"I will do what I can for you... in not creating a mutiny," Hadar answered with a smile on her lips.

"Thank you. I appreciate that... Do you have any questions before I dismiss you?" Brevik inquired of her.

"Nope. I am good to go, sir." Hadar answered, now all business again.

"Alright then. thanks for dropping by, on your way Colonel. I know you have a lot to do and I do not wish to hold you up." and with that, she stopped up and departed the office in silence.
