Mission:
Mission 103: The Rumblings of Discontent
Location: Various Locations - USS Solemn Penance
Timeline: 1130Hrs - August 25th, 2393
Captain Tolian Brevik slowly opened one eye as he groaned softly, he realized there was no point in even trying as he recognized the inside of a Federation brig cell, he let out the breath he had been holding while he slowly sat up. "Well, that could have gone better."
"Are you alright skipper?" came the voice of Commander T'Shamsu, she had been placed in the brig across from him and she was also sporting some rather ugly bruises, clearly she had been beaten while she was unconscious.
"I've been.. Commander." Brevik started before he took note of her wounds. "What the heck... When we get out of here, they will pay for this."
"Do not be troubled Captain, I had not anticipated the chance of a mutiny, nor had I expected Lieutenant De-Witt to be the mastermind of it."
"I'm not so sure of that." Gwen Adams spoke up, clearly contemplating it. "He seemed like he was forced into it. I wonder if that fight you mentioned was what triggered him or was it something else?"
"Maybe it had to do with the incapacitation of Commander Watseka and the sidelining of Colonels Ironhide, Warlock and DeCrescents." there was a soft rasping sound as the only Saurian on the ship's crew spoke up. "Alright, who's not here..." Brevik commented as a Starfleet officer came through the door. "Ahh, you're awake. Good. Up. Come with me, we're going to see the Captain."
Brevik gave the man a rather sardonic smile. "Captain, now that's amusing... But sure big man. Let's go and see the man..."
The man tapped the forcefield after drawing his sidearm. "Do not do anything stupid alien..."
Brevik said nothing, as there was nothing to say as he started walking, he didn't see either Lieutenant T'Mass or Megan Delgado but he opted to not protest the matter, he was matched out the door and down the hallway. Several minutes went by in silence as Brevik entered his former office to find himself facing three people, two of them were armed goons and were easily dismissed as such while the third was Lieutenant Martin Shkreli, now wearing a Captain's uniform and wearing command red rather than teal. "Mister Brevik, I'm going to give you a chance... as you've spent two centuries..." was as far as he had gotten before Brevik silenced him with a simple response. "No. Go to hell Skherli, you are a traitor."
The two goons stepped forward before Skherli waved them off. "Try not to make threats against me. Mister Brevik, as my two bodyguards, take it poorly." Shkreli smiled sardonically at Brevik as it was a clear provocation and a threat against Brevik. "Let me finish what I was going to say... join me... I offer you a place in my new regime."
Brevik wanted to break down and laugh, as he smiled. "You simply cannot be serious..." he commented lightly. "You know what Starfleet will do when they find out about this... Don't you?" he paused as he decided to go all in. "I tell you what though." Brevik stated, "I'll make you a counter-proposal. Why don't you surrender to me, now and we can work all of this out..." the older then average El-Aurian answered.
"Do not insult me," Skherli answered in a rather abrupt and dismissive tone of voice.
"I could say the same about you. You insult the rank, the chair and the name of this ship with your presence aboard her." Brevik answered. "Take me back to my cell, we are finished here," he commented evenly.
"Take him away." Shkreli agreed as he knew this conversation was well and truly over, there was nothing further to be gained from talking to Brevik, the man had decided not to cooperate and to listen to Skherlki's ideas, he had judged Skherli as unworthy of his service and had treated him accordingly. "If he does anything stupid, kill him and make him suffer." as he turned away from the table, and the gathering.
"Let's go." and with that, the same security officer walked him out the door, and back to his cell, a process which took another several minutes. Brevik was marched back into his cell upon arrival as he looked around. "We're missing Grovian and Megan, has anyone seen then?" Brevik asked of his gathered crew. "Well, I know Megan dove into the conference lounge while Grovian fled into the bathroom on the bridge, both when the firefight started." Rosalie Avila answered in a rather hesitant tone of voice.
Brevik nodded, processing the detail. "Well, we will all find out soon enough. Hopefully, some of the senior staff escaped, looks like no signs of Ironhide or Warlock in here with us, no DeCrescents either." he paused. "As soon as Bart finds out what happened, he'll be leading the charge to sort this matter out."
"Skipper. Didn't you make him stay in his quarters until this matter was dealt with?" Adams inquired.
"I did. He will consider our arrangement null and void when he learns of the mutiny and someone will tell him, somehow." Brevik answered with a gentle smile on his lips.
Just then the door opened and in came the same Starfleet security guard, he went over to Gwen Adams's cell this time, drawing his sidearm in silence. "Come with me, the Captain would like a word."
"Sure, he's right there," Adams answered in an indifferent tone of voice. "Captain, what say you?"
"Skherli will try to recruit you."
"So, Skherli is the one behind this... I wouldn't be surprised if he had something to do with what happened to Lindsey as well, all of this stupidity started when he came aboard..." as she regarded the security officer. "Go away. Little Terrorist solder boy... We are going to have to deal with the genie that you people, through your incompetence, let out of the bottle..." the small human female watched as he wrestled with his emotions as she worked him over. "Ensign Anton Slavik... They used to call you the Serbian wolf... right?" as she grinned at him. "Well, bite me and I'll put you down, just like I would any rabid dog."
"I only need to bite once, little girl... You'll find that I aim for the throat. Remember that when I come for you." he answered in an angry tone of voice, before he turned and walked away. Adams smiled. "I'll be waiting!" she shouted at him.
