After taking a moment to retrieve the bag that she had left at the door, Rachael Yamaguchi-Cullen went into the bedroom before she sat down on the bed. Her husband was waiting for her. "Hey, so, what actually happened?"
"The Grey Wolf and I ran into a temporal anomaly. Most of what happened. You already know. But I left out the details that the adult version of Saki shared with me her memories of what happened between, her, her father and her mother." Rachael sighed. "Ennis took Rachael's choice poorly. She then refused to consider his side of the matter. So he took it as a slight." as she regarded Cullen. "It only got worse from there. The animosity rose as their relationship began to disintegrate. After a couple of weeks, they had begun to part company as he announced he was returning to Earth. He wanted to introduce the children to his parents. Rachael opted instead to simply serve papers and leave. She cited his unwillingness to work things out with her so she opted instead to say screw you and leave." Rachael shook her head. "Saki and all the kids went with Ennis and she never interacted with her mother, ever again." Rachael suddenly frowned. "Wait, somethings not right," she admitted.
Cullen nodded. "Saki would never ever allow herself to be parted from her mother like that," he explained. "You caught that too, huh?" he commented. "Saki would never allow herself to be parted from you."
"She's not, " Rachael answered softly. She's outside. But I have to wonder what was said to make the other Saki go along with leaving with everyone else when Ennis and Rachael went their separate ways, " she frowned.
"Didn't Saki tell you?" Cullen inquired.
"No," Rachael admitted. "She seemed almost hesitant to tell me anything." she then frowned as she tried to remember what else was said." she looked up at her husband. "I didn't go and see Paul Harrison. I decided that the adult Saki was worth listening to. Because she knew that things would go sideways between Paul and me." Rachael sighed. "Considering how he gave me Saki to start with. But that was all those years ago." as she looked at Cullen. "But that is then, and this is now."
Cullen nodded his head. "I've never policed your relationships. Rachael. Hell, I recall saying that you were free to seek the company of others on an as-needed basis."
"But you were never truly comfortable with that," Rachael answered with a gentle smile. "It's why I never really went anywhere else. But I knew I needed to deal with Paul Harrison once and for all. Which will be done once I finish typing it out. I intend to tell him that I no longer wish for contact between him and myself. I've moved on and he should too," she explained. "Saki, that is the adult Saki shared with me all of her memories. Her trails after you, err the other Ennis and Rachael separated, and she struggles with what happened afterwards." She paused. "You went home to Ireland on Earth and reconnected with your family. You were able to sort things out with your brother." she paused. "So we will go and do that."
"Do what?" Cullen looked confused.
"We will take some leave time, and take the kids to see your home," Rachael commented. "Saki showed me how it was done. I will show you later on tonight while we're in bed together. Then I will ensure that your parents meet their grandkids."
"No!" Cullen answered. "I don't want William meeting them. He's never liked the fact that I went off-world. That Olivia came with me, and she died so far from home." he sighed. "He also didn't like the fact that I never came home in the meantime," he then sighed. "I know he liked Olivia too. But he never told me how he felt about her. Fookin' eegit,"
"But he might be expecting you and only you." Rahcael commented. "He won't be expecting me, or the kids. Besides. Saki needs to get out of the house every once in a while. Lets see if Saki can surf for real."
"You remembered." Ennis softly grinned at his wife.
"I did. I've also been practicing too." Rachael commented. "I recall you pulling me off of the sand a few times."
Ennis smiled. "I also recall a few times we had fun un the sand too," as he grinned at her. "I never recalled you complainign though."
Rachael chuckled softly. "No, because you kept things away from the sand. I think that was how Olivia and Anthony came along." she paused. "But still. We need to sort things out between you and your family."
Ennis sighed. "I don't think yee understand how bad it is lass."
"We should make an effort." Rachael smiled at him. "Here is what I propose," she added.
