Mission:
Mission 112: The Heart of a Truth Long Lost
Location: Various Locations - USS Nath'qu
Timeline: 1005Hrs - January 30th, 2394
Fleet Captain Lelia Reeves knew that her childhood still caused her issues, even into her forties. She had tried so desperately to not infect her own children with her issues and concerns. Michael had been a great help there. She had let Michael handle the majority of the child-rearing and that she would assist him with matters as needed. He resided on the Starbase where her ship was homebased from. She would reside in their quarters or the home they had on the planet. He would handle raising the kids, and she would focus on her career. She would also bring home gifts for her children from the various planets she visited.
Leila had explained the situation to her spouse, at length. She had also taken several years before she had started their relationship together to get her head looked at and things sorted out. But she still had issues with relationships. She also had various trust issues that even now, after all this time, she still had issues working out.
What had solidified their relationship was their mutual hatred of Kenneth Hunt. When Michael had attempted to sue for custody of Travis and Sapphire from their father. He even admitted privately that it was a long shot at best. However, he was going to give it his best shot, and the judge saw the benefits of having a parent who was not a part of the system that had created the issues in the first place. He ultimately rejected the bid. However, the action had earned Michael Anderson a place in House Reeves forever. Jason Reeves went from being not very interested in his son-in-law to considering the man the son he never had in one move. The rationale was as simple as it was direct. Jason Reeves wanted to ensure that his daughters would be well taken care of and protected. Kimora had been screwed with twice, and now she was dead. Such made Leila enraged just to even think about it. Losing her only sibling was such a massive gaping wound that had not even remotely started to heal.
Kimora had been lost in an accident. Her children were all lost as well, due to being lost as a result of adoption or being kept by their father and not being permitted to see the other half of the family tree.
All of this ensured that Leila was the last one left with any hope for the continuation of the Reeves family. She had three children of her own, and while she was able to have more children. She also had her career to consider.
Leila sighed. While all of these thoughts were going through her mind, the computer system beeped at her. "Com centre to Reeves?"
Reeves snapped out of her funk. She lightly tapped the combadge affixed to her chest. "Go ahead com centre?"
"You have a message coming in, it's marked as personal, and it's also marked as secure. It's for you."
Reeves frowned. There were very few people in the universe who would call her like this. She then shrugged as she tapped the display. "Understood. I'll take the call. Go ahead and route it to me." she explained.
Leila tapped the display on her desk once. The face of her father appeared as he grinned at her. "Hey, Leila. I know you're busy. So I'll make this quick."
"Really, Dad?" Leila had an irritated look on her face. "Why must you think I'm always busy." as she regarded her father. One of the last few members of her family who were still alive. Leila knew that her children were the last hope for her family's legacy and longevity.
"Well. You are always so busy, and getting ahold of you at times is a massive pain." Reeves regarded his daughter. "Anyway. You will never believe who found me out of the black." as his grin seemed to make his head want to explode.
Leila regarded her father for a moment, she seldom ever saw him in a happy mood but this was something truly special. Whoever or whatever it was, must have really made her father's day. "Oh, who?"
"Recall Kimora's daughter." Reeves inquired of his daughter.
"Sapphire. What she doing calling-" was as far as Leila got before her father shook his head. "Not her, the other one, the one she lost to adoption all those years ago. Turns out that she's alive and well."
"What?" Leila felt like someone had pulled the carpet out from under her. "How?" she whispered. Thats when it hit Leila that she, along with everyone else in her family had written Savannah off forever.
"I needed a couple of days to look into the matter. What she said to me was legit alright. I couldn't believe it myself, so I had a few people look into the matter." Reeves explained to his daughter.
