| Personal History | Leila Reeves was born on Mars in 2346, She is the eldest of two siblings born to Jason and Asia Reeves, the stress of the long separations plus mom having to raise two very active children alone wore on her as she didn't think to ask for help on the matter from her own family or from his. Leila and Kimora started feeling the effects of their mother's issues as time went by. Asia began resenting her husband for a long time apart and she began planning for life after her husband but Jason did love his children and he spotted the issues as Kimora and Leila both desperately began telling their dad that issues were happening at home. Jason began requesting assignments to Starbases, once that was sorted out he began taking the girl with him and it took him over two years to cure them of their issues. Jason decided his wife needed medical assistance to sort herself out, she decided to file for divorce instead. Jason accepted and the two parted company then she filed for full custody but she was really wasting her efforts, what more everyone involved including the judge knew it. The situation was sorted out by the time Leila's thirteenth birthday rolled around but the damage had been done as she was unable to form long and stable relationships as a result of the mental damage her mother had done to her. This was something that took years to deal with. When she graduated from the Earth school system she went into the academy in 2364. Her time here was highly educational as she quickly discovered the woman she was meant to become but there was one event that forever marred her time here. The Borg attack in early 2367 forced Starfleet to mobilize the entire corps of cadets to prepare for combat. Once it was clear that after the destruction of the Borg cube by the Enterprise, the cadets were stood down and Leila went back to classes along with everyone else, finally graduating and being assigned to the Cheyenne Class starship USS Ohlone. Her assignment here was one of discovery and enlightenment but she found she preferred her solitude as she worked through the mind games and the damage was done thanks to her mother. She decided to advance her career first before she wanted to find a mate and settle down. Her second assignment was to the USS Yellowknife, one of the first of the new Steamrunner II class ships now entering service and she found she preferred the hands-on approach to the smaller ships in the fleet rather than do what her sister did, go for the larger ships. The Yellowknife was present for the Klingon war of 2373 and the second Borg attack but her ships were destroyed out from under her. Leila and most of the ship's crew were able to flee however and they all escaped. Leila's next assignment was to be offered her own command, the USS Nath'qu and it was an assignment she maintained for almost twenty years. She would meet her future husband who was originally assigned here as a freelance reporter but he decided to settle down aboard and he made a family with Leila Reeves, including having three children. in early 2392, Leila was informed that her ship was to be decommissioned as it was now too old to be of any serious use anymore so she accepted another command, a Century class starship of the same name. She moved her crew and family over to this new ship and set off again to do what she did best, around the same time she was asked to take over command of a squadron of cruisers for the 92nd fleet. Leila accepted this duty as well. |
