Mission 120: All Along the Watchtowers - Part Two
Location: Various Locations - Fearless Battlegroup / Starbase Vanguard
Timeline: 1400Hrs - January 19th, 2394
Captain Samantha Walking Bear regarded her younger sibling on the display before her while she was sitting in her ready room on the USS Fearless. She sighed as she paused a moment. "No. Come on Heather. You can't be serious about that. The very idea is just nuts." she then glared at her sibling. "Just thinking about it is bonkers."
"It was just an idea," Heather answered. "No. I wouldn't do that to her or Kalliope anyway. Odessa would have my ass for it." Heather commented. "Remember that event?"
"How could I forget?" Sam answered in a soft but flat tone of voice. "When you tried to do a double date with you, your husband and Odessa and her boyfriend, except you forgot your boyfriend's name and started trying to make out with hers. James was amused. As I recall, he tried to make out with Odessa in response. She threatened you with a knife before she stomped off." She then sighed softly. "I forgot how emotionally volatile our younger sibling could be."
"In her defence, that was many years ago," Heather answered. "Long before I married James and had all my children. Mmm. The sex was fun along the way here though." she added the last sentence with a rather wide grin on her face.
Sam sighed softly. "I regret that my luck was never as good as yours but... I never found my version of James McTaggert," she admitted. "Except when I did, we were not compatible." Sam then sighed softly.
"Don't let it get to you, sweetie. It just sucked that neither you nor Chen could have kids with the other. But we both know why,"
"Yeah. His blood is cobalt-based and ours is copper based." Sam sighed softly. "Had it been possible? I would have happily had children with him. He would have too." she added with a soft sigh.
"Yeah. All those bio-rejection factors would have shafted you both." Heather answered with a soft sigh. "You never did find anyone else. Did you?"
"Not really Heather," Sam answered softly. "So where are you off to these days? Did your temp assignment end yet or not?"
Heather regarded her sibling with a soft smile. She recognized the change of subject for what it was. "Yes. It did. Kira Antilles is now available and she's taken over for me in command of Patrol Six." she paused. "I'm now the new second officer for Starbase Vanguard with the rank of Captain." she paused a moment. "I finaly caught up to you and Julia in terms of rank," she added, a wide smile on her lips.
Sam grinned at her sibling. "Heather thats fucking outstanding news. About time," she answered. "What happened?" she inquired further.
"Siaxx is down with a pregnancy, and Tirothyn R'Shaw departed for places unknown," Heather explained. "The new Exec for Vanguard is Ed Antilles. He's intresting and I'm highly tempted to ask if he has any brothers who are single... Recall Dominique, our cousin... Isn't she married to John Antilles?" Heather paused as she tried to rack her memory for the information but she was turning up big goose eggs. "It's been a while," she added.
"Yeah. Dee is married to John Antilles. He's one of the sons of Paul Antilles. Man, that guy is like a caveman with regard to women. He has more children than anyone has any right to. How the fuck did he manage to raise them all?" Sam inquired. "He has had something like ten kids," she added.
"Who knows," Heather commented with a shrug of her shoulders. "But I think Kalliope could benefit from the attention of one of the sons of Antilles... Or maybe one of the daughters of Antilles... Assuming one is available, of course." she then grinned at her elder sibling who was busy shaking her head. "Heather, you gonna make me go insane." Sam sighed at her younger sibling.
"Good," Heather answered with a wide grin. "You need to get out more girl. You're too repressed for your own good at times," she added. Her smile not fading in the slightest.
Sam sighed softly. "Yeah. Well. I'm a girl who likes my peace and quiet. What can I say?" she asked.
"I still think you need to get out more. Speaking of. When are you arriving at Starbase Three Twenty-Four?"
"In arriving there at about ten hundred hours, the day after tomorrow. Relative time of course," she explained.
Heather nodded her head, as she processed that statement. Relative time was contemporary time. It was the same for the two women. "So, about forty-six hours then?" she inquired.
"Yep," Sam answered. "I'll be at the Starbase for two days while I pick up my last consignment of supplies and information o the assignment area. Before we proceed with our mission," she explained to her younger sibling. "Will you be able to get there?"
"I will be there," Heather answered. "To pick up B'Elanna and ensure she is protected," she added with a gentle smile.
