Torilla Yamaguchi regarded the crates. But she knew she didn't have long as the grandkids seemed to appear before her, the three small children charged at her, as they had charged at their mother earlier. "Grandma Torilla!" Gideon cried as he saw his grandmother. His two sisters were hot on his heels.
Torilla smiled as she greeted the kids with her usual approach. Love, warmth and attention. Gabe went over to his wife. "I asked mom if she could watch the kids for a few days since she's still on leave from the Grey Wolf. She said she didn't mind."
"You were going to surprise me about it, weren't you?" Savv responded.
"I was." Gabe nodded. "Then I could tend to you and help you with your main concerns, without distractions," Gabe explained himself, "I knew you were busy with things."
Savannah smiled. "Come on kids, let's get you all ready," she commented. Torilla rose to her feet, picking up Nicole and Arlene as she did so. Savannah felt a pang of envy. Her mother was larger and physically stronger than she, herself was.
The kids cheered. A short time passed as Savannah, Gabe and Torilla got the grandkids ready. Torilla then hugged her son before she hugged Savvanah in turn. "It'll be okay, honey," she commented. "We'll get you through this, together."
"Thanks, mom," Savv answered. A few minutes later, Torilla departed, with her grandkids. Leaving Gabe and Savv alone.
Savv gently plucked the top crates off of the lower two, placing both onto the deck. She then shifted her attention to her spouse. "Three of them are clothing and her souvenirs. I always got the impression that Kimora..." Savv paused a moment to untangle her thoughts. "It feels weird calling her mom of something. Since she was never present for me to know her as anything."
"I'm sorry," Gabe answered softly. "I know this has been a trying time for you," he added after a moment. "What's the fourth package?" he inquired.
"I don't know." Savv paused as she hefted the PADD in her hand. "The PADD just says. "Documentation and personal items." she read aloud from the PADD in her left hand. "Whatever the hell that means." she gave her husband a look.
"That term covers a lot of ground. Too much, really." Gabe answered quietly. He breathed out and then back in again. "Do you want a moment first before we start digging?" he asked.
Savv paused, and she went over to the kitchen table. She pulled out a chair and then sat down on it. "I dunno what to do, Gabe." she let out a soft sigh.
Gabriel regarded his spouse in silence for a moment. "It's not going anywhere. You don't need to face it now."
Savannah sighed softly. "Yes I do," she commented in a soft tone of voice. She paused as she hauled herself to her feet. "Crates one, two and three can wait. It's the fourth one I want to see."
Gabe turned his head. "Okay." he answered. The crate lifted off the pile before it drifted over to the table. It then settled down on the table. "I don't often get to use my abilities," he commented, a smile on his face.
"Oh yes." Savannah paused before she peeled off the lid. She found a PADD and a towel. She pulled out the towel which she then tossed onto the sofa. She hefted the PADD as she tapped the play button. The face of Kimora Reeves appeared. "This message is intended for Lieutenant Savannah Yamaguchi. Savannah. Contained within. You will find various documents that I held. My various records and certificates are contained within. Also, so is documentation you might need and want. Should my ex decides that you are a threat to him and he wants to come after you, the way he came after me. He had me declared as an unfit mother... My reputation won't recover and neither will my name. Admiral Kenneth Hunt is his name, do keep an eye on him Savv... Do not give him the chance to do to you, what he's done to me. Because he will and he won't hesitate."
Savannah tapped the pause button, halting her biological mother in mid-sentence. "Admiral Hunt?" she paused. "What he got going in this mess?"
Gabriel Yamaguchi raised an eyebrow. "I do not know... But I'll ask Dad about this matter. Can I borrow that PADD because I'm going to drop by his office tomorrow? You don't need to come with me for this."
"Yes, I do, Gabe," Savannah answered. "If I'm asking dad to get involved then I want to look him in the eye when I do so," she added.
Gabriel nodded. "Alright. I'll be dropping by his office bright and early. About oh eight hundred. I already cleared it with my boss and his yeoman. Call your boss and let her know. I'll ask dad's yeoman to add you to my docket." he then smiled. "Since you wish to look him in the eye when you ask. The least I can do is help you along."
"Thanks, Gabe," Savv answered with a gentle smile.
