Mission 120: All Along the Watchtowers - Part Two
Location: Various Locations - Utgarde IV
Timeline: 1800Hrs - January 31st, 2394
Marcus Solusar blinked his eyes open, as he felt a large mass next to him, he peeled open his eyes as he realized that Kadian Paris was snuggled up next to him. He knew that the second he moved, he would wake her up. In his experience, ladies hated being woken up for any reason. But he knew he needed to go to the bathroom so there it was.
Solusar slowly edged his way off of the bed when he heard Paris moan softly, he turned his head as he sat up. Before climbing out of the bed. He turned to find Kadian just waking up. "Go on back to bed, honey," Solusar commented. "I'm just going to the bathroom. I'll be right back." He explained his absence from the bed.
Paris slowly blinked her delicate-looking eyes as she peered at him in silence. She then yawned before she proceeded to snuggle back into the bed, to enjoy the warmth.
Solusar went into the nearby bathroom. He took care of his concerns before he turned and went back to bed. Solusar noted with a bemused look on his face that Paris had now taken up the entire bed and was heading towards being fast asleep. He knew that either choice presented various issues. He could either let her sleep alone which would cause issues when she awoke, whenever that would be or he could say to hell with it and climb into the bed anyway. This would wake her properly and then he would risk her wrath by waking her.
Solusar looked down at the bed. "Kadian..." he said softly. "Kadian..." he added, after a moment. "Time to wake up, honey," he added, still speaking in a very soft tone of voice.
"How did you know I wasn't asleep.?" Paris asked, sounding fully awake. She lifted her head as she smiled a moment later. It was obvious that her ruse had failed. Still, she wasn't disappointed in the least.
"Because you are a little too obvious," he commented. "Plus you would have heard me thinking. Kameron did take a few moments to explain a few rules about living with telepaths. One of which is to be gentle in my thought process. Don't start thinking about old girlfriends or other people in the nude when your date is a telepath, being a big one." Solusar explained before he sat down on the bed. "Oh. Kam and Elizabeth both took some time to explain a few do's and don'ts of what to do. What to say and what to think around telepaths." he added.
"Always a good plan," Paris answered. "Am I being compared to someone else?" she asked rhetorically. "Is there someone who I must measure up to.?" he then looked at him.
"I'll tell you," Solusar answered bluntly. Paris blinked in surprise as this was something she had not been expecting. "To answer your question. No. There is nobody else. My work plays merry hell with relationships and my last was several years ago. It ended badly as she wanted me to join Starfleet and I said no." Solusar let out a soft sigh. "She wanted to go and see the stars... and she wanted me to share her quest..."
Paria regarded him in silence, she also could see the face of this woman. She was a real looker. "I'm sorry."
"It was a long time ago. Kadian. What's done... Is done." Solusar paused when suddenly the house computer beeped at them. "Incoming communication for Kadian Paris."
Paris climbed out of bed before she grasped Solusar's shirt and pulled it on, she smiled as she inhaled his scent, it wasn't overpowering and neither did it reek of sweat or body odour. Paris reached over and tapped her combadge. "Paris here," she commented softly.
"Vanguard Com Center here. I have a communication from the USS Tribal, her Captain would like a few minutes of your time." came the unexpected response.
"Shit," Paris commented. "Alright. Route it to me. I'll be online in two minutes." Paris then dashed out of the bedroom and up a flight of stairs. She entered the house computer office a moment later. She proceeded to begin booting things up. "Are you still there, com center?"
"We're just waiting on you, El-Tee." came the response.
"Alright. I'm all fired up. Go ahead and route the call to my house terminal. The location I'm presently at." Paris commented as she went about preparing the connection. "I'm ready for the skipper of the Tribal now," she added.
Paris took a moment as she realized that all she was wearing was a t-shirt. It covered part of her thighs but that didn't help matters any for her. She gently took a moment and slid her lithe form into a chair. Her mother appeared on the screen a moment later.
