Mission 120: All Along the Watchtowers - Part Two
Location: Various Locations - Utgarde IV
Timeline: 1000Hrs - January 31st, 2394
Marcus Solusar looked down at the PADD in his hands in silence. He was heading back to Utgarde IV on today's transport. He was scheduled to arrive shortly.
Solusar slowly picked himself up, he turned to look over the unmade bed. He began cleaning up after himself. He knew that this room would no longer be his in a short time. His reverie was suddenly interrupted by a voice over the com system. "Attention, now hear this, now hear this. We will be arriving at Utgarde Four in ten minutes. All people getting off here, please assemble at the port side airlock for disembarkation. Thank you for travelling Greyhound Spacelines."
Solusar reached down, and he picked up his bag before he rose to his feet. He looked down over the clothing he was wearing. A pair of jeans, hiking boots and a simple t-shirt completed his look. He was not a fan of wearing much. Anything he needed, he would obtain once he moved into his new home and had a chance to settle in.
Solusar exited his quarters, after taking a moment to make sure that he had not forgotten anything that he might need or want later. He reached the portside airlock a few moments later. Solusar smiled as he realized that they were stopping at the orbital station first to drop off passengers before either heading onto their next destination in the next system or heading to the ground facility to drop off cargo or supplies.
Solusar waited for the airlocks to match, the set of doors opened a moment later. He nodded to the woman across from him, she went through first and then he followed after a moment. He was in no rush and it showed. Being one of the last through. He then got into the lineup for customs. Processing this was no big deal for him and once finished with this, he headed for the transporter stations, rather than the nearby shuttle rental facility. He knew he would need his own shuttlecraft soon. But he also needed his flight certification as well.
Solusar shrugged. "Aww well. One issue at a time." as he went into the transporter room. He informed the transporter chief where he wanted to go. He was then beamed to the main transport terminal in Utgarde City.
Solusar went outside into the main concourse when he heard his name being called. Lieutenant Kadian Paris was standing there, waiting for him, she was wearing winter gear and she had a large jacket over one shoulder.
Solusar went over to her. "Kadian. I'm so happy to see you."
"Likewise, big man." Paris grinned at him. "You are earlier than I expected," she added with a wide grin. "I've brought you something... Well several somethings, actually." she then handed him a hat, with a pair of gloves. "You'll want to wear those... It's winter outside and can get quite cold," she added, with a zesty smile. "The jacket is also for you. Kam helped me pick it out."
"Thank you, Kadian." Solusar gently hugged her before she lifted her chin, and the two shared a quick kiss on the lips. "Shall we get outta here?" Solusar inquired as he picked up his bag from where he had placed it.
"Sounds good to me. My ride's out front." Paris answered. "Kam was kind enough to teach me some lessons on the fine art of powered flight. While I don't have my full certification yet, I am able to fly one passenger for a limited time." Paris commented. "Come on. I'll take you to your new home," she added. "The one that Beth and Kam own," she added.
"Lead on." Solusar smiled, and the two departed the spaceport and the city a few minutes later. Paris was the control of her shuttle and Solusar sat as co-pilot. He sat in silence as he admitted the view.
"You're very quiet," Paris commented.
"I was taking in the view. It's quite lovely." Solusar smiled. "Whats our distance to our destination?"
"One minute, eleven seconds," Paris responded. "I'm starting our descent now," she commented. "Welcome to Heimdall County," Paris added, a smile on her lips. She tapped the com display. "Paris to home plate. Requesting permission to land?"
"Copy." came Elizabeth Yamaguchi-Solusar's voice. "Say state and souls aboard?"
"State is good. Two souls aboard."
"Copy that." Yamaguchi-Solusar answered. "Decks yours, come on down. The hatch is open. Be gentle Shocker. Out." came the long and short answers from Elizabeth Yamaguchi-Solusar.
Paris grinned as she began the landing sequence for the shuttle. Within moments the outer hatch was closed and the shuttle was secured. Paris rose to her feet before she turned to Solusar. "You've never been here before?. Have you?"
"No," Solusar answered quietly.
"You'll love this place," Paris commented. "The bathing facilities are to die for," she commented. "You'll see why soon enough," she added.
"Lead on," Solusar answered, a smile on his lips.
