Mission 127: Old Friends and New Enemies

Timeline: 1200Hrs - January 19th, 2394
Commodore Celeste Yamaguchi-Hobbs had still not heard anything from Starfleet personnel regarding her urgent request for a replacement for Post Captain Tirothyn R'Shav who was leaving today for the USS Roanoke-A. She frowned as she took a moment to recheck her paperwork. She wanted to make sure that she wasn't talking out of her ass on the subject at hand, as she hated people who couldn't keep up and she had stuck in this request over a month ago. Now she was getting angry over the matter at hand.
"Mmmm." the young woman frowned in irritation before it turned into outright anger. She was now sure she was being snowed with the issues before her. "Why can't these fucking clowns ever get back to e when I need shit. Not when they feel like it?" she tapped her combadge. "Yamaguchi-Hobbs to Naz'jar.?" she was asking for her yeoman.
The door opened, and in walked a younger-looking human female. Petty Officer 1st Class Braelynn 'Lady' Naz'jar regarded her boss. "You screamed for me, skipper?" the young woman inquired.
"Yes. I need to meet with Fleet Admiral Duval soonest. I need to get this issue resolved." Yamaguchi-Hobbs commented as she handed the other woman a PADD. "Stick in front of her. It might help ease the issue along the road to resolution," she added.
"Ahh. the R'Shav concern," Naz'jar answered. "Okay. I'll take care of this soonest. Will there be anything else?" she inquired.
No. Thanks." Yamaguchi-Hobbs answered quietly. Naz'jar turned and went back to her post. She opened a new email before she went to work sticking in her request before she sent it off. Her response came back less than five minutes later. She smiled as she tapped her combadge. "Naz'jar to Yamaguchi-Hobbs. Mission accomplished. Your presence is required in the Admiral's office as soon as you can get there."
Yamaguchi-Hobbs rose to her feet as she went around the desk and out the door. "Thanks, Braelynn," she commented with a nod for her yeoman. "I'll hold your calls for you." the yeoman smiled back. Yamaguchi-Hobs went out into the hallway. Her next stop was Fleet Admiral Duval's office, her destination which she reached less than five minutes later. The Fleet Admiral's yeoman nodded. "The Admiral is expecting you, go on in."
Yamaguchi-Hobbs smiled as she advanced into Fleet Admiral Duval's office. She had been unsure of what to expect from Duval but she could see the other woman was serious. Duval regarded her with a curious look on her face. "Celeste. Take a seat." she indicated the two chairs across from her. "Those aren't for decoration. Please."
Yamaguchi-Hobbs did as she was told in silence. "Thanks for seeing me," she commented, Protocal had to be acknowledged even if she felt it was a pain at times. Duval nodded her head in silence. "Your yeoman said you needed a moment, what's wrong?"
"I need two officers to replace Siaxx Dvald-Vaxx whos down with a pregnancy and Tirothyn R'Shav who's leaving us, due to reassignment elsewhere," Yamaguichi-Hobbs commented. "The workload is piling up and things aren't getting done because I'm stuck doing their jobs in addition to my own jobs. It doesn't help that we're stuck in this state of transition. So I can't borrow some people from the ground base to assist with the issues. They have their own issues too." Yamaguchi-Hobbs explained. "So I'm stuck having to pester you to resolve this problem for me."
Duval regarded the other woman in silence. She was old enough to be Celeste's mother and yet she knew full well that this issue should have been resolved long before now. She was concerned that nothing had been heard or said by anyone until the absolute last minute on the matter. "Well. We do have a few officers present. I know Heather Walking Bear is assigned to the ground base as Commander of Patrol Squadron Six. But she was there on a temporary basis until Commander Kira Antilles became available to handle the command. Her husband went with her to take over as Chief of Operations for the ground base. Commodore Borodin demanded him specifically. He came only because his wife did."
"Nice of her." Yamaguchi-Hobbs smiled. "So any ideas as to where Captain Walking Bear will be assigned next?"
"No," Duval answered. "She's more or less going to float here until something comes up and I'd say this qualifies. I'll send for her. Till she gets here. We can see who else there is... Other than Ed Antilles." Duval paused. "He's not a bad idea either. He might be useful to you."
"Ed as in Commodore Edward Antilles?" Celeste inquired. She suddenly sounded hesitant and unsure of herself. A feeling that she hated.
"Indeed," Duval answered with a nod of her head. She also smiled sweetly at the younger woman.
