I See Through a Glass, Darkly - Part Three

Posted on Fri Mar 20th, 2020 @ 6:25am by Commander Tienn Iteela & Lieutenant JG Tienn Durin & Tienn Jaina & Lieutenant Colonel Tienn Nerra

Mission: Mission 102: Sic Transit Tienn
Location: Various Locations - Bajor
Timeline: 1100Hrs - August 5th, 2393

Tienn Nerra was meditating while sitting on the large overstuffed sofa in the main sitting area while Tienn Iteela was helping her brother, Tienn Jerric with the food for the evening's events. "I didn't think you enjoyed cooking Iteela. You always seemed the type to heal other people's injuries, rather than make food."

Jerric was the largest of his three brothers, he also wore his hair long, it was down to his shoulders and tied back in a simple ponytail, however, he was also clean-shaven, he was wearing a simple shirt and a pair of jean shorts.

"A great many things have changed Jerric," Iteela answered her brother, a smile on her lips. "Unfortunately, my spouse couldn't come, she had a great many things to deal with but she would enjoy this place," she added.

"Wait, you got married? to a woman?" he regarded his sibling, this was news to him as he simply had no idea his sister was even married, let alone was even seeing anyone.

"Yes," Iteela answered simply. "A lot has happened over the last eighteen months Jerric," she explained to her sibling as she placed the large Tuwaly pie onto the table. "Its a little too sweet but I don't think anyone will object," she added.

"That's the joy of cooking. I think I went into the wrong field." Jerric grinned at his younger sister. "What happened to you out there?" he inquired, his smile fading like a melting snowdrift. "Iteela, I can tell something with you has changed. Other than getting married and the twins. Oh, Dad told me. I assume because Ezas told him?"

"Perhaps. I do not know who said what to whom." she paused. "I was very nearly killed by a group of secret service agents who got overzealous while on a previous assignment, Had I not had medical help so fast. I would have died. as she regarded him. "I should have died that day, my skull had been broken and fractured thanks to high impact loading trauma, thanks to weapons fire."

Jerric was not amused, the look on his face said as much. "So how did you survive?"

"Well, thanks to our friends from..." she hesitated a moment. "Somewhere outside the Federation, I never found out where but there was some talk of an alternate reality or an alternate dimension." Iteela paused. "I never really paid attention to it. I was too busy trying to figure out who and what I was." she paused. "Much of what was, was lost..." she added. "After I was healed of my physical wounds, I was left with the mental capacity of a child so I was sent to Vulcan to have my mental injuries healed, it was long and arduous but I was able to recover much of what I had lost but..." Iteela regarded her sibling. "I am still finding myself again but I am not who I was and so I find that I am learning much..." she paused. "Much of myself, what I was and who I am now."

"Wow, that's deep," he answered. "Well, its good to know you survived that..." Jerric paused. "Nerra doesn't say much but when she does speak of it, she gets angry quickly."

"Nerra is more fortunate then I am," Iteela explained. "She got into trouble, was removed from her posting and sent to a Starbase as a punishment detail, where she spent time in the base logistics section where she met an angry Klingon, the two got into several scuffles and an honor duel." she paused. "If Laytex and cooking spray went on a blind date, how would the night end?" as Iteela suddenly grinned. "Nerra and K'taro got married about two weeks later, as far as he was concerned, she was the greatest thing ever... Nerra saw him as worthy of her."

"Oh wow," Jerric commented evenly. "Did any of my sisters marry a Bajoran?"

"I did," Iteela answered. "My children, however, are not, they are part Halanan, part human and part Bajoran." she sighed.

"Sounds complicated," Jerric answered.

"It is." Leran interrupted his brother's statement with his own. "Hey Iteela, you look well." he greeted his baby sister. He was wearing his hair short with a goatee, his clothing choice was similar to his brother but he was wearing a golf t-shirt and a pair of jeans, he was also leaner and smaller than his brother. "Nerra looks like she's in la-la land. So I decided I'd leave her alone, she might kick my ass."

"She would." Iteela agreed. "Nerra has been through a great deal of late, it's best if you leave her be. She is acclimating to being pregnant, her third child has been demanding of her." Iteela explained in simple terms.

Jerric paused. "Wait... You didn't tell me that, earlier."

Leran raised an eyebrow as he placed the large platter in his hands, next to the large desert that Iteela had placed a minute or so earlier. "Nerra is new with child?" he asked his sister.

"I believe, that is what I just said," Iteela answered. "It was not important, until it became so, as it just did." the tall female added.

"Oh boys, I think she's enjoying herself, at your expense." came a second female voice, from around the corner came Tienn Moi, she was wearing a simple pair of jeans and a sweatshirt. "Maybe you all should move on." as she came over to Iteela. "Iteela, it's wonderful to see you again," she added as she gently hugged her sister-in-law.

"Hello, Moi. I didn't think you'd come." Iteela admitted evenly.

"What? why?" Moi inquired.

"Our last conversation was an argument," Iteela answered simply.

"That was a long time ago and I don't even remember what we were fighting about," Moi answered, a gentle smile on her face as she regarded her sister-in-law. "That was then and this is now."

"Its also unimportant," Nerra commented evenly as she entered the kitchen. "We are all here now and that's what's important," she added as she padded over to the large cooling unit. "Let's see what there is to eat," she commented evenly.

"I hear congratulations are in order.?" Leran commented to his younger sister.

"Yep," Nerra answered, a wide smile on her lips. "K'taro and I were not trying to have kids. Prophets know I have enough children in my life. Balin and the other kits in addition to my two babies. Edal and Gorlok." she paused. "This one will be number..." she paused. "Ten?. Maybe.?"

"Ten?" Moi inquired. "What?" she asked, in astonishment. "How do you come by ten children?"

"I didn't think I'd ever find a husband. You might say he sorta fell out of the skies." Nerra explained. "Did you tell them?" she asked of her twin.

"No. I was going to let you tell them the story, you should tell them. You tell it better then I do" Iteela answered with a smile. "Go on, tell 'em."

Nerra smiled as she nodded, she then breathed in. "Well. You see, it goes like this." she then started her tale of woe, sturm, and drang. Moi listed as she smiled, Marja came around the corner and she began to listen to the tale as well, it was the same with the two brothers, the tale took about fifteen minutes to tell as Iteela grinned, she had heard this tale several times before.

Nerra finished about a minute later as Jaina approached her youngest daughter. "I had no idea you were such a spitfire. Truly the Marines are wasted on you."

"What?. I like to break things. K'taro thought he could break me, I think I broke him instead. Then there was the first night we were together." as she grinned. "I will leave that tale, to your imaginations..." she added as a rather wide grin appeared on her face. "Let's just say that my eldest child came five months later. It was great." as Nerra grinned like an idiot. "Now, I'm hungry so let me see what there is in the fridge." and with that, the pregnant Bajoran moved over to the large cooler where she knew that some food was stored.

Iteela chuckled softly. "With me, it was a telepath so he and I melded while in the act, so I felt what he felt and he felt what I felt. It was a liberating experience." she snickered softly. "Oh, my experience was different, I think it was better but don't tell her that." before she turned and moved off.
