Mission:
Mission 98: Building Our New Home
Location: Admirals Office - Starbase 61
Timeline: 1830Hrs - March 28th, 2393
Fleet Admiral T'Sara McKnight was seated in her office on Starbase sixty-one. She found herself staring out the viewports, into deep space as she considered her entire life, everything she had been through, seen and done. Her husband, the one man who had been the light in the darkness of her early life, the father to her children, was now gone. He had died early this morning.
It was a simple training accident, a landslide had caught him and several of his troops, he had given his life, saving his unit, but that was no consolation to the troops who respected him, those who knew him all but loved him as Colonel James McKnight took great care to look after the troops under his command, often ignoring stupid little things like, was their hair cut exactly to regulation lengh and the like, he wanted to create warriors but intelligent warriors who would use their brains and not be afraid to speak up. He saw to their education as well as their martial skills.
Now, the Colonel had died. Now T'Sara was alone and she had to break the news to her family. All seven of her children were close to their father.
T'Sara was many things, she was a mother, a grandmother, a great-grandmother and now a great-great-grandmother. Her small army of relatives were all doing well but now she had bad news for them all, her husband had just died. Colonel James McKnight who had been the one to help her in her darkest hour, when she was a much younger woman, it was the time in T'Sara's life when her biological family on Vulcan had told her that she was banished from Vulcan, never to return. Her people had turned their backs on her for asking the question of emotion and logic, together, could bring balance rather than logic alone. Her parents were a classical case of abusers, they had abused T'Sara in her childhood and teen years.
What really angered her family was that she spurned the mate that they had chosen for her, he was not her intellectual equal on any level, he was of the opinion that a woman's place was at home, raising children but it was when she submitted her paperwork to join Starfleet rather than remain on Vulcan under the strict tutelage of her parents, her siblings had found out as they routinely accessed T'Sara's mail and the like without her blessings, they informed her parents who's reaction, was outright illogical.
It was something that T'Sara, herself, had never been able to get over. It had colored all of her dealings with every person in her entire life.
T'Sara had, at the time, not considered that her rights had been trodden on but rather than fight it, she went into Starfleet, not to chase her first love, that of medicine but that of tactical as she sought something to quench her thirst, her anger had been all-consuming and never-ending. It had taken a fellow classmate to make her see that she was missing out on so much life had to offer her.
Biology took its course and T'Sara went through the pon-far a week or so after her twenty-first birthday when she was in the middle of an exercise on Mars. T'Sara smiled as she recalled that night, a night of anger, and passion as she decided to not kill James McKnight for his impudence. As time passed, T'Sara would be glad that she did not terminate that relationship. James gave her six children and something she had never known she was missing until she had it. A family of her own.
Now, she had to find a way to move on, without the guiding light in her life. T'Sara let out a soft sigh as she tapped the display before her, she wished to speak with all of her children, from the eldest to the youngest. She let out a sigh as she knew that Orthos would be angry with her because of the assignment issue that he had been dealing with recently but she hoped that he would be reasonable.
T'Sara sucked in a breath of air into her lungs as she contacted Karass first, as she resolved to get this matter over with. With a heavy heart, the Vulcan female tapped the display once as she got things rolling.
