Tienn shrugged off her uniform jacket before she draped it over the back of a nearby chair. She opened her mouth to say something when the com system beeped at the two of them. "Com centre to Suvak Duval. You have an incoming call on secure channel sixteen."
Tienn regarded him with a gentle smile on her face. "Do you want me to come back?"
"No," Duval answered softly. "Stay," he added.
"Alright." Tienn paused. "So long as you're sure," she added.
Duval tapped his combadge. "Duval here," he commented. "I'll take it down here," he commented as he walked over to the large wall monitor. He tapped it once as the display activated. Lt Commander Anthony Duval regarded his younger brother. "Suvak. I wasn't expecting you to pick up so easily," he commented softly.
"You're still my brother. Even despite our issues." Anthony answered quietly. "I wanted to say hi and see how you were doing these days," he added. "We've not talked in a while. Dad asked me to say hello. Since you're not talking to him." Anthony commented in a light tone of voice.
Suvak sighed softly as he took a seat in a chair that had been sitting nearby. "That was a while ago," he admitted.
"Yet the effects of the matter persist Suvak. I know what was said... I was there, remember?" Anthony answered before he turned to the young woman who was moving into the frame behind Suvak. "Who are you?" he asked Tienn directly.
Tienn paused. She had forgotten that the wall monitors had a wider display than the desktop screens. "I'm Tienn Halaar." she commented. "Suvak and I are friends."
Anthony smiled as he answered. "I'm Anthony Duval. His older brother." he turned his attention back to Suvak. "It's time we addressed that issue brother. As a family should. It's time to put it behind us." he commented as a Caitian female appeared and sat down on her mate's lap. "Ahh. Hey guys. What am I... Suvak!" Hsirr greeted Suvak warmly. "How are you doing these days!?" before she looked up at her mate. "Oh. I'm interrupting something," she commented.
"Yes but that's fine. Please stay." Suval answered quietly. "Anthony and I were about to embark on these dark and haunted seas." the younger man commented.
"Ahh. This old quest." Hsirr answered quietly. "Do you think you'll be successful this time.?" she commented.
"Maybe," Suvak answered. Tienn came in and she sat down next to him. "Whats this family issue about?" she asked. "It can't be any worse than my own father banishing me from my own home and house for supporting my sister who decided to have a child with a Klingon."
Suvak raised an eyebrow. The issues that he was dealing with was not even close to that level of severity. He said as much, then he handled the introductions so everyone knew who everyone else was. "We had an issue that got out of hand because dad misunderstood what I said. It was a family row that got out of hand."
"It got out of hand and you guys can't resolve it among yourselves," Tienn answered. "Would it help to have an outsider perspective on the matter at hand?" Tienn inquired with a smile.
"Sure," Anthony answered with a nod of his head. "Maybe it'll help," he added. "A fresh perspective would be an assist."
Tienn turned to Suvak. Knowing that she needed to be careful as she was really overstepping. This was not her business and she was not related to the matter. "You sure?"
"Yes," Suvak answered. "It will help. We've tried before and only made things worse."
"You guys are kin. I am not." Tienn answered. "But I will try. If I can help you avoid my family's mistakes then I will." the small-framed woman commented. Suvak's response was to gently pull her onto his lap. "Then we will try together." he was expecting her to resist but he was suprised when she didn't. She settled into his embrace as she had always been there.
Tienn blew her bangs out of her eyes. "So. Anthony. What exactly happened in the first place... The first issue that caused all of this drama in the first place?"
Anthony paused as he regarded the small-framed Bajoran woman. He smiled but opted not to comment on the Bajoran woman sitting on his brothers lap. "Dad and I were having a heated chat which was turning into a loud argument," he commented. "Suvak intervened and told dad more or less to sod off with being an asshole. Even though things were not that bad. I think it was Suvak trying to help me... Or it was the loudness of the argument that angered him." Anthony then shrugged. "I don't know, as he never explained it."
"It was both," Suvak answered bluntly. "I was trying to sleep and you both woke me up. That's why I came unglued at the time." he paused. "Dad's reaction only provoked me further," he added. "I didn't expect the reaction I got from him."
"Yeah. Dad really set you off. That's when you hit him for it." Anthony answered. "That explains so much." he sighed softly. "Will you try calling him.?"
"I will. Once I get off the coms with you." Suvak answered. "Halaar here will be able to help with the matter."
"Good," Anthony answered. "Either way. It is still good to hear from you little brother," he commented with a smile. "Don't be a stranger, alright?"
"Willdo. Anthony." Suvak answered. Within moments the two parted company and the transmission ended.
