Posted on Thu Jun 30th, 2022 @ 4:28am by Lieutenant JG Suvak Duval & Lieutenant JG Tienn Halaar

Mission: Mission 116: All Along the Watchtowers - Part One
Location: Various Locations - Starbase Vanguard
Timeline: 1145Hrs, November 9th, 2393

Lieutenant JG Suvak Duval went into the lounge where he had started this little adventure. He got in the lineup for a replicator before ordering his lunch of three slices of pizza and his prefered drink of choice. He then went off to locate an empty table. His mind was mostly moving on auto-pilot as he located an empty table. He then sat down so he could enjoy his lunch.

He lifted a slice of pizza when his reverie was interrupted by a female voice. "May I join you?" Duval turned his head as he looked up into the eyes of the Bajoran woman who had served at conn during their last assignment.

Duval indicated the chair across from him with a wave of his hand. "My table is your table."

"As is the food," Tienn answered with a gentle smile. The small-framed Bajoran woman placed her food onto the table and then she slid her lithe form into the chair that was presented before her. "What a mission huh?"

"We're not allowed to talk about it, Tienn," Duval answered softly. "Not here at least," he added, partly to take the sting out of his words and also to remind her that their mission was not technically legal. It was also black and to be kept off of the books. Orders of Admiral Lasky. Tienn liked the fact that Lasky was willing to do something illegal in pursuit of a higher goal. Plus it helped that Admiral Lasky was also highly respected by most. He was also known for looking after his people and considering their welfare first before other considerations.

Tienn regarded the man before her. He didn't seem like the type to waste a lot of words over the dinner table. This was something she could respect, as her family was like this while growing up. The main living space was for chatting and discussing matters of the state whereas the dinner table was for eating and nothing else.

"Do you feel like going for a stroll?" Tienn asked of him.

"Sure." Duval suprised himself with his answer to her question. The look in her eyes was there for only a second. Tienn too had been taken by surprise with his response. She had been expecting him to refuse her. "So, where would you like to go?" she commented.

"The holodeck would be good. I want to go anywhere other than being stuck on the Starbase for the next week. I'm between assignments at the present time." she explained before she went back to her food.

Duval nodded his head in silence while he likewise went back to his food. Within minutes. The food was finished, the drinks were enjoyed and now the two of them were departing the lounge.

The two of them went into the hallways. "Computer. Are there any holosuites available?" Tienn asked about the computer system.

"Negative. All are presently in use at the present time." the computer answered. It was a male voice and not the usual female voice that everyone was expecting. "Computer.?"

At that moment, a hologram appeared. The figure was bipedal but covered in layers of armour with a rather unusual-looking helmet. "Can I assist you?" the hologram commented with its deep gravely voice.

"This is new," Tienn commented. "Are you sentient... Are you aware?" the small Bajoran woman started to get really excited about the hologram before her. "I had heard stories that something like you was in the works... But to actually meet you." Tienn grinned. "I wanna take a look at your source code and see how you work..."

"Of course I am." the hologram answered the small female before him. "I am Starfleet Adviser Oh One Slash Four Two Five. But I answer to the 'The Master Chief'." the hologram answered.

Tienn nodded. "It's good to meet you, Master Chief," she commented with a gentle smile on her lips. "Can I stick in a request to have a copy of your source code?" she inquired. "I want to study it... Curiosity mostly."

"I will stick in that request for you and I'll inform you of the response when I get it." The Chief answered. "Your request has been approved. I'll send a copy to your database," he added after a moment of silence.

"Thank you, Chief," Tienn answered. "Something for me to look at while I wait for my next assignment," she added as she looked at Duval. Mostly as an explanation.

"Thank you, Master Chief. That'll be all." Duval answered softly. The hologram vanished after a moment. Duval turned to look down at the small female before him. "Wanna head on back to my place?" he asked softly.

"Sure," Tienn answered softly. The two then set off for their new destination which they reached shortly. Duval entered his home and Tienn followed in silence. He turned to her. "Come on in. Make yourself at home."

Tienn smiled as she slipped off her boots. "Ahh... Much better," she commented softly as a smile graced her lips.
