Posted on Thu Jun 30th, 2022 @ 4:26am by Lieutenant JG Suvak Duval & Commodore Siaxx "Bluemoon" Dvald-Vaxx MD

Mission: Mission 116: All Along the Watchtowers - Part One
Location: Various Locations - Starbase Vanguard
Timeline: 1130Hrs, November 9th, 2393

Ensign Suvak Duval went into the messhall, he was hungry and while he had the time off to devote to eating a long meal. He still had some paperwork to finish and then he would take the four days off he had been given as a result of finishing the last assignment. It had been punishing and gruelling. Most of which he was not allowed to talk about to anyone else, this suited him just fine as he didn't feel much like socialization anyway.

Sudden the com system beeped and the voice that addressed him directly cut through his thoughts like a hot knife through the butter he would put on his morning toast. "Captain Dvald-Vaxx to Ensign Suvak Duval.?" came the voice of the now heavily pregnant Bolian woman who was the starbase executive officer. Duval sighed softly as he cringed. He knew he did not want to end up on the executive officer's sensor display. He tapped his combadge. "Duval here. What can I do for you, ma'am?"

"You can drop by my office. Preferably immediately. I would like to speak with you regarding recent events. Now if you please..." the unexpected answer came back. Duval noticed that all the pairs of eyes. Some sixty or so were all fixed upon him. He sighed. "Yes ma'am. I'm on my way," he answered. He watched as everyone in the room shifted their attention to him. Half had concerned looks and the rest looked amused or indifferent. While a few looked relieved that it wasn't them,.

"Thank you, Ensign. Dvald-Vaxx out." and with that. The com went silent.

Duval sighed a second time as he turned and departed the lounge in a hurry. He wondered exactly why the Bolian woman wanted him but he could not think of a reason. He decided to put the thoughts aside until Captain Dvald-Vaxx told him what she wanted with him. He would find out soon enough and there was no sense worrying about events or details concerning matters he knew nothing about.

Duval moved down the hallways towards his destination as he avoided the crowds. Within minutes of getting the call. He reached his destination and once he did. He tapped the door chime. He then settled in to wait until the woman within permitted him access to her domain.

Fleet Captain Dvald-Vaxx glanced at the door. The Bolian woman smiled as she could almost feel her quarry approaching. "Enter," she commented.
The doors opened and in came Ensign Duval. He moved to the exact centre of her office and came to attention. "Ensign Duval, reporting as ordered ma'am."

"Stand easy, Ensign," Dvald-Vaxx answered quietly. "I've been reading your file as the recent mission you were on was a rather interesting one," she commented. "Your file says you are highly skilled and talented. Your efforts in the last mission say that you personally had a hand in saving two people who otherwise would have died. You are being given a citation for these efforts. Congratulations." Dvald-Vaxx commented. "Also. I am promoting you from Ensign to Lieutenant JG. Your work recently has been sensational." she rose to her feet as she came around the desk with a small black box in her hand. She opened it and produced a single black pip. The small-framed Bolian woman reached up, while she gently placed his new pip next to his old one. "Congratulations on your promotion Lieutenant." she then gently shook his hand. His hand was easy twice the size of hers. Dvald-Vaxx regarded him. "Now that the formalities are overwith." The Bolian commented. "May I speak freely with you El-Tee?" Dvald-Vaxx asked with a gentle smile on her face. She regarded him.

"What's on your mind ma'am.?" Duval regarded the small-framed woman before him. He knew that what she said was about to be interesting and dramatic. This was gonna be good.

"Ditch counselling and go back into medical. Your talents and skills are wasted Suvak." the small-framed Bolian woman commented. "I knew a lot of medical officers on a lot of ships that could really use you."

Suvak Duval regarded the small Bolian woman as he shook his head. "I will consider it. Thank you, ma'am. But I have no wish to leave the Starbase today." he answered quietly.

"Good," Dvald-Vaxx answered with a nod of her head. "Other than that. Enjoy your time off El-Tee and stick in that request to go back into medicine," she commented. "My sister is prepared to sell her daughters into sexual slavery because she wants you. Badly."

"I'll consider it ma'am," Duval answered. The choice was his alone and nobody else's. "Thank you for your kind words though," he added, so she didn't think he was being crass in his words or his tone.

Dvald-Vaxx smiled. "Fair enough El-Tee. I will leave you to enjoy your time off. Its well earned." and with that. She went back to her chair before she sat back down. "Your dismissed El-Tee." and with that. Duval turned and departed in silence.
