Mission 111: The Sorrows of Night
Location: Various Locations - Starbase Vanguard
Timeline: 1320Hrs - October 25th, 2393
Lt Commander Galiaan Fordring had booked this meeting with Post Captain Heris Dvald for the last few hours as both women knew that this mess needed to be addressed, lest others who were now involved despite the best efforts of both women who were stuck trying to clean up the mess, do it for them with reassigning everyone involved. Fordring strode into sickbay, her massive legs and stride eating up space at quite the prodigious rate.
Fordring entered the main hospital complex as she nodded to the two enlisted guys behind the desk, as she strode forward. The Chief turned to her companion. "I wonder who upset her?"
"No idea... and I don't wanna know either... I've never seen her so angry..." the man answered back quietly.
Fordring didn't hear as she was heading to see Post Captain Dvald. She reached her destination, she requested and then was granted access to Dvald's domain. Fordring regarded the tall elegant-looking Bolian female before her, she selected the closest chair to her and after taking a moment to ensure it could handle her weight. She took a seat. "Alright. I just finished seeing Elizabeth not that long ago... It could have gone worse..."
"How so?" Dvald asked softly
"Well... I knew it would go poorly and it did... Her husband was able to keep out of it, even though he made his position clear to me in no uncertain terms that Medical fucked up and fucked up hard with concern to his spouse." Fordring then breathed out and then she breathed back in again. "I was honestly expecting him to hit me... Humans can't really hurt Vrykul with their fists but Elizabeth actually hit me... Saving her husband the burden of doing so." Fordring explained softly. "I needed to go have a break before I came back... I needed time to process that my friendship with her... is over because of this drama." Fordring wiped a hand over her face as she said it, fighting off a wave of tears as she did so.
"Wait... What?" Dvald asked softly. This for her was a major shock. "Elizabeth hit you, I wanna be sure I heard you right?"
"Oh yeah, you heard right," Fordring answered. "The trouble is. I need to hammer something out with you so this drama never happens again..."
Dvald raised an eyebrow. "Your dammed right this ain't gonna happen again." the tall Bolian woman answered. "As of now, everyone is to work their assigned shifts, No more overtime for any reason. Mandatory or otherwise... I care not for the reason. It's not going to happen... Anyone caught doing it or passing off work to others to ensure that result will get written up for it. no exceptions." she explained. "People asking for help is fine... But I want people to start using better judgement and part of this was self-inflicted so Elizabeth should bear some of the repercussions of this drama too."
"But can you blame her Heris," Fordring answered in a flat tone of voice. "She was fucked with, toyed with by others... Actions were taken against her that were outright illegal and the system failed her time and again... She has a rule that means to not let someone back into a position of trust after they've fucked her over... Well, Roanoke alone fucked her three times... and we failed her twice."
Dvald regarded Fordring. "Go on?"
Fordring paused as she collected her thoughts. "The first was the issue with that Breen weapon that nearly got all of us killed. Elizabeth needed to operate to save her mothers youngest two children... Paul and Tressa." she explained quietly. "Phoenix didn't want to do it but there was nobody else and Elizabeth couldn't operate on herself. The consequences would have been profound, to say the least. But had she not operated... Torilla and her unborn children would most certainly have died... But Phoenix never forgot or forgave, She felt Elizabeth violated her for it."
"I've heard stories of Phoenix from others," Dvald answered. "Then there is what she did to my sister... Let's not go there, shall we?"
"Right." Fordring agreed. "Moving on then," she added after a moment.
"What were the others?" Dvald inquired after a moment.
"Mmm... Oh." she paused. "The second event was after Captain Yamaguchi had become pregnant with Admiral Lasky's baby. Elizabeth took this one and carried her half-sibling to term when Torilla more or less said she would not give this baby up so Elizabeth sacrificed three times... This child would be raised by his father with no interference from either Torilla or Elizabeth even though she came to think of Kurt Lasky as her own child." Fordring strokes off her fingers as she explained. "Elizabeth sacrificed being a mother so Tom Lasky could have a child and let his line continue." she paused. "She sacrificed knowing Kurt for the same reason." she paused. "She also felt she owed penance to Phoenix for what she did to the other woman with the twins."
